After missing 3-4 mos of school he felt lost both academically and socially and didn't want to go to school. The public school would not consider allowing him to repeat the grade. Private schools in our area are impacted and competitive to even get into. I was at a loss until my aunt in Monterey told me about Trinity Christian High School. From the first phone call explaining our situation, to shadow day, to interview, and starting a new school around April - it was all amazing and beyond my expectation. Most importantly my son snapped out of his depressed mood after one shadow day and has been going to school happily for the past year.

As a family native to Monterey we have encountered Board members and Mr Crawford and staff not listening to students and not doing their jobs for the betterment of all students. Their is bias to put certain students that are in the academies in AP classes and deny others. Violence in classes is kept secret and financial statements are questionable. Public schools need to vet teachers for experience .

MHS is the perfect balance of size and offerings in terms of sports, academics, and extra curricular activities. Now as a parent and student you do have to do your part and choose to be engaged. If you do that, success in high school and beyond is a certainty. Thanks to the caring and driven administration, teachers and staff, MHS is up there with all the high schools in the area, both public and private.

If you have any exceptions or standards with academics , cleanliness or behavior avoid this District as a whole. How is this preparing them for high school? Or the real world? Last week I heard the PE teacher say, and I quote "I am sick of this crap" in reference to students not wearing the correct shoes for PE. Is that the way teachers talk to students now? My teachers never spoke to me that way and I went to public school. Guess you can pay big bucks for your kid to learn how to behave like an animal, instead of a human being.

As I say some, not all of them. 3.- If you are expecting the principal communicate with you about how they are addressing the bullying problem that your child is suffering there "just forget it". Because she just will keeps sending you absurd justification and nothing more. 4.- The way she TREATS the parents is "despotic". The attention she offers is bad and you can tell when you talk to her that she is not paying attention to you.
