I recently hired Helena FixIt Services for a small bathroom remodel, and I honestly couldn't be…read morehappier with how it turned out. We were looking to update our basement bathroom: new vanity, modern faucet, fresh tile surround, new toilet, better lighting, and a quick fresh coat of paint. Nothing structural, just a tired 90s bathroom that needed to feel clean and current without blowing the budget. Robert was fantastic from the first phone call. He came over the same week I reached out, listened carefully to what we wanted, gave honest feedback about what was realistic in the space and our price range, and sent a clear, detailed quote within 24 hours--no vague "ballpark" nonsense. The pricing was very fair for the Helena area, especially considering the quality of materials he recommended. The work itself was completed in 6 days (they said 5-7, so right on target). He was polite, clean, and clearly knew what he was doing. He protected the floors and hallway perfectly--no drywall dust apocalypse like we've had with other contractors. Highlights: - The Schluter strip details and perfect grout lines look pro-level. - He fixed a slow leak in the shower valve we didn't even know we had (saved us future headache and money). - New LED vanity lights + recessed lights completely changed the feel of the room. - They hauled away all the old fixtures and left the place spotless. Communication was excellent the whole time--daily updates via text with photos. Any questions we had got answered quickly, and he was happy to tweak a couple small things (like moving the towel bar over 2 inches) without any attitude. Bottom line: our bathroom now feels like it belongs in a much nicer house, we stayed within budget, and the whole experience was stress-free. If you're thinking about a small-to-medium remodel (especially bathrooms or kitchens), I'd call Helena FixIt Services without hesitation. 10/10, would hire again in a heartbeat, in fact we plan to! Highly recommend! -Sarah M.

Now in July, our sewer backed up. I called them but they didn't answer the phone. I hired someone else to run the sewer, and hired out the cleanup as well. So that was $825 and a big hassle. That's why I did the preemptive service, to avoid a problem like this. When Barry had AAA it was trustworthy, but now it's not. They ripped me off for $200 and it eventually cost me $1025. Boo. We could not be happier with the work performed by Eric at Helena's Drain Doctor. He helped us when…read morewe were in desperate need. We had a plumber come do some work on Thursday. Basic stuff, reseat a toilet, replace a kitchen faucet, and snake out the kitchen sink drain. That plumber left telling us we should get someone who specializes in drain snaking. He did not tell us we shouldn't use our facilities. By Saturday, we had sewage backing up into our bathroom. Why does this always happen on a weekend? As you can imagine we freaked out. We called several drain specialists but no one was answering on a Saturday morning except Eric from the Drain Doctor. He listened to our freak out with patience and kindness. Although his camera was broken, he rented one saying he'd be here within an 1 1/2 hours. He was at our home in less time. He spent at least 6 hours trying to clear our drains without success. He tried so hard to help us. He called his contacts to give him advice, he even went out to our long abandoned detached studio, removed that toilet that hadn't been used in decades to try to snake from a different direction. He surmised that with the age of our home built in 1888 we likely had a collapsed sewer main, which no simple snake is going to break through. For all that effort he charged at least half of what someone else would have charged. We know, we've had lots of Saturday service with this old house. And he referred us to someone who he thought could take on a job this big. We aren't out of the woods yet, but if we ever have drain issues again, Eric is the first one we'll call. Thanks Eric!
