Area is pretty remote, could be good but area is pretty dry, lots of area has been burnt through. Forest is not lush. Nice meadow but it's more desert like than I like. read more

This was my first time in 20+ somewhat years I have been camping. I must say I was not disappointed. My niece and I enjoyed our stay here, we met some new friends and the Grounds host Mac was awesome! Even the rough roads will not keep me from coming back. Told my roommates and friends who have atv & dirt bikes about Big Pine Flats & they are going to give it a whirl. It's a campsite for all who love the outdoors, bathrooms are like port a potties, but in a clean kept up building. I'm going back next month. :) Tents, RV's welcomed. ATV's & dirt bikes are allowed on the campgrounds. You just cannot ride them in the campground, but there is a lot of dirt roads, all you have to do is pick one. Can go on day or night trails, the night one's are fun cooler and dark so bring flashlights. Fawnskin is the nearest town with coffee shop diner, market for your needs and shops. Big Bear Lake not far up ahead, Renaissance Fair, lodging etc. Looking forward to going back next month. Thank you Big Pine Flats for making our stay superb! Thanks Mac you rock!
