Poor time management. Appointments do not really matter. The wait is always longer than an hour no matter what the repair is you are here for. Time stated for repairs is always longer than stated, doesn't matter if you have made an appointment or not. Again, very poor management in general!! read more

Thank you, thank you, thank you to Big O Tires and their staff for helping me in a tire blow out emergency on Highway 50. In my panic, I turned to Yelp for help (woohoo for them too). Big O Tires was my knight in shining armor yesterday :). I believe the name of the wonderful staff members who helped me were Toby and Miranda. Honest and helpful people who don't try to rip you off. They came to my rescue, answered all my questions, and gave me a good quote for new tires. You always hear about tire places trying to pressure you into buying tires and make you spend as much money as possible, but that did not happen once. They went above and beyond to help me get back on the road, including giving me directions to get me home quickly and safely. If I lived in town, I'd bring my car in to them regularly. However, if I am ever nearby and need service, I'll be visiting them again. I'd also recommend them to everyone and anyone. read more

Wow! Are these guys slow. And had I not asked, my truck may still be sitting in the lot. The only reason they started was that I brought it to their attention. "oh yeah, we are busy". Oil change and tire rotation, 3:00pm appointment. It's currently 4:30 and I'm looking at my truck on the rack with nothing have been done but tires removed. Really??? 1 1/2 hours just to remove tires. I occasionally read yelp reviews but take them with a grain of salt. But these reviews seem to be right on the money! I had a great experience here, found issue with brakes on a car we just purchased. I shopped 5 other local shops for the same repair and all where much higher and needed to wait days to a week for parts. My 2016 Mercedes was losing air and I was in Placerville taking care of my 92 year old Mother but needed the tire repaired. They said it would be $35.00. I waited, and waited. I looked and found the man under the hood of my car. I asked what was going on, and the man at the counter told me they were inspecting my car. This was not mentioned at all prior. I told him I didn't need anything inspected and just my tire repaired. Well, it took over an hour and I was not happy with the service. 0 STARS (actually) My best friend and I were on the way to Lake Tahoe, and needed snow chains for the storm that was coming our way. Big O Tires is well known and close-by to the freeway, so we thought it would be the perfect place to purchase snow chains! Well.... we thought WRONG! First of all, the worker grabbed us a box of snow chains that was very, very dusty and the label was coming off. (1. showing that they don't really sell much of these 2. they've been there for ages so the product itself wasn't as good as it should've been) We purchased the kit and the worker mentioned that we needed snow chain adjusters because it wasn't included and kindly called another store for us to pick it up since they had none left. However, once we opened the box AFTER we bought the kit + the adjusters (that were supposedly NOT included), we found packaged adjusters in the kit- making us waste our money + time in driving to the other location 30 minutes away. And to top it off, the snow chains broke with FIVE minutes of usage (obviously because they're very, very, very old) causing us to drive in the snow storm without needed snow chains. But of course, they stated no returns/refunds on the receipt... very sneaky, Big O Tires- thought you were better than that? Big O Tires, please hire more competent workers that actually know your products and replace your old products that obviously haven't been touched for years! read more

Had a rear tire blowout on my way home from golf hurrying to let dogs out. Fortunately near Placerville Big O tire store that I'd been using for over 20 years, so I limped in on a very deflated tire. Since my Toyota Highlander is all wheel drive, they reminded me that I would need to replace all 4 tires (old set had over 10k miles). They were busy but had a perfect replacement set in stock and could get mine done by 5pm. They also offered to give me a ride home to let the dogs out. Great service and much appreciated rescue! New manager and team seem dedicated to restoring this store to higher level of service than last few managers achieved. Service was spotty after Mike Hurd retired 10 or 15 years ago. read more

I had a really good experience at this location. My alignment was way off caused by another location in Cameron Park and they repaired it within an hour. I was also told by the other location that I needed to replace my front tires and this location was honest with me, telling me that they conducted a tread test and I have another 2 months at least (depending on how much I drive) left before I need to replace them. Tires replaced today. Les Schwab in Rancho Cordova had told me I needed replacement and alignment, front especially. I had the time today and was home in P'ville, so went to Big O. Big O said the same, alignment out in front. Big O was quiet when I got there. I was told an hour turnaround. I was there over 2-1/2 hours. Bad culture in this shop. Not friendly. The guys would do one operation and then talk and bitch for awhile. The kicker was that the alignment report showed no problem in the front. Since they told me that was the reason my previous tires failed prematurely, I feel that I should go get another alignment somewhere else, to protect my investment. I'll drive to Les Schwab next time, you bet. read more

It's been 5 or so years since we've been to this place. Thought I'd give them another try and have them mount 2 new tires to two new wheels that we purchased for our dune buggy. Dropped them off with Aaron at 11:30 am and there was only 2 people there. I said I could leave them and would like to pick them up after lunch. He said no problem. Called me at noon and asked if I wanted white walls out or not. Figured they were working on them. Great. Showed up at 2pm and Aaron was not there. This other guy with a beard says what's up? I say, I'm here to pick up my wheels and tires. He says the aluminum ones? I said yes, Aaron knows about them. His response is "did you want to wait for them to get done?" I said, it's been three hours are they not done? He says, "sir, you don't have to yell at me". I said, I'm not yelling at you. These were supposed to be done by now. He opens up the exterior door and yells to the guys in the shop, "hey can you get the aluminum wheels and tires and put them in the back of the white dodge truck?" I said, so this is how it's going to go down? He says, "you need to get off my property" I watch and say "I'm not leaving until my wheels and tires get loaded". He says, "you need to leave right now!" Raising his voice. At that time, I said "screw you man." He says, "screw you and your Mom." I said " say what?" He says"your mom man, leave my property, your trespassing!" Big O Tires, this person is not your star employee. You have lost my business and anyone I know that needs your services. I took my wheels and tires to Sierra Nevada Tire and Wheel and they were able to mount and balance them within 30 minutes. They have great service! read more

Got a bolt in my tire after leaving work recently and went to the Walmart tire shop since I was right next to it. To keep it brief, I instantly regretted it so I drove to Big O. The tire was unrepairable, so they changed my tire to the spare in less time than I stood in line just to get helped at Walmart. The guys were great, friendly and very professional. I've had issues in the past but tried them again since the change in ownership. We tried going there for oil change that was offered on sale. It took 3 hrs. Then I called today to give them another chance thinking its mid week, hopefully not so busy. I called to ask about a tire rotation & oil change from a coupon. They hung up on me twice as soon as I said oil change. Obviously they don't want this business, but why waste money on advertising if they don't want it. Maybe it's the staff who'd rather be selling tires and brakes, not oil changes. If this is the case, management needs to discuss their business expectations from their staff. So unprofessional. When I bought my tires, I chose Michelin tires over the Big O brand. I was told tires purchased from Big O included free lifetime flat repair. When I brought in a tire for the free flat repair, Big O told me the tire warranty did not apply to all tires, but only those with the Big O brand name. read more

I called Jeff and discussed my brakes, he quoted me a fair price, I took the car to him the following day. He changed my 'bad' rotors, and added new pads, then actually road tested my vehicle after the repair. Nice touch, not use to that, so many places just repair and hand you the keys. The customer service here is not good. I left a review on the big o website a while back and never heard a word back about my complaints. I am only coming here because it is the closest one too me and unfortunately just bought tires here not long ago. I have to come do this on a day off since anytime I walk into this place there is a very long wait! Quoted 3 to 4 hours today so here I sit :( I have been told they do not take appointments but was able to make one online. When someone called me back I had some questions and the call did not go well. I ended up cancelling the appointment and have been putting off coming back til the last minute. read more

If you care about your car and your parts don't leave them in the hands of Big O in Placerville. Not only are they untruthful, they are extreamly rude and didn't seem to care after breaking expensive OEM parts!! It took me alot of money to replace them at an auto parts store and I finished the job myself at home. On 7-20-2016 I took my 2015 SRT 392 in for a wheel alignment. I made the mistake of not going around with the service writer to show that there was not one mark/scratch on any of the rims. After they aligned my car I had small chip/ marks on all 4 rims!!! I know I am anal but the fact is there was not a single mark on any of my rims and now I have a mark on every rim and they are the same distance of the alignment tool they placed on my rims. If you have a car/rims you care about do not go here? Service guy Toby was awesome but the workers SUCK AND WERE NOT FRIENDLY! Will never go back and I will tell everyone I know! I recently brought my Volvo XC90 for brake change. The service provided was precise and efficient. I had mentioned to them that I was on my lunch break and needed to get new brakes. Terrible service, we'd never been here but got a gift certificate for a free oil change, so we brought both of our vehicles in for oil changes. They're supposedly supposed to wear gloves and put down paper but they didn't, they got oil dirt all over the steering wheels, shifters, and doors. I cleaned it myself when I got home. Not even a full week later my husbands truck explodes all it's oil all over the freeway so he had it towed back to big o and they said they'd fix it no charge. Also they said they'd check my car too no charge. Again they got oil all over the interiors, I had to ask them to clean it, they only wiped my car. They said they thought they had cleaned the oil off the bottom of the truck but didn't, it is still all over and smelly, his truck was sooo clean before bringing it there. Vehicles aren't cheap and you try to maintain them, pay for a service and your investment gets treated like garbage. read more

I've been here multiple times with various vehicles. Last time was with a C-Max for tires and windshield wipers and I made clear I needed to be out in a few hours. They apparently got the tires on pretty fast but it took them 1 and a half HOURS to try and get the windshield wipers on. I am not making this up as you just can't. When I went to ask for the 3rd time why my car wasn't done yet and that I really had to leave soon they finally admitted that they were unable to get the wipers on. I told them to leave it put the old ones back on and get the tires rotated and finished so I could go (the tires were not aligned/rotated yet). After another 15 min I asked if they were done yet and they told me that the new wipers were on but that they still needed to finish the tire alignment etc and that it would be at least 30 min. I told them to get my car out asap because I had a freaking meeting and had been there way to long already. Today while driving in the rain on our windy mountain road the driver side windshield wiper FLEW OFF! Seriously unbelievable and this could have caused a major accident. I will never ever go back here because a little cheaper tires is not worth risking my life. read more

My review is just like all the others.... they don't value your time. I went in, and they told me 30 minutes for an alignment. I specified that I needed to be back at work in 45 minutes. They assured me they could do it in 30 minutes. I prepaid, so I wouldn't be late. My car sat untouched for 10 minutes. Fifty minutes later, I told them that I was now late for work. No apologies. Very indifferent. When I told the mechanic I was now late for work, he actually laughed. read more

Took my car into Placerville for regular tire rotations. Most recently I took it to Folsom. They show me the rear tires are cupping and have drastic uneven wear. Why is it Folsom detects a problem but Placerville can't. I imagine because they don't care about providing service, only selling new tires. read more

Do not go here!!!! So RUDE!!! Got new tires put on a few months back the experience was OK. Went back a few weeks ago to remove the screw. The guy behind the counter was short tempered and rude to myself and other customers. Took my car back in today to give them a second chance. I had another screw in my tire, needed an oil change and my back brakes done. Never once have I been asked for a key to unlock my hubs but apparently this time for some reason they needed one. I explained to them I don't have one and that I have never been asked that question before. I also explained to him that they just recently worked on my car two weeks ago and I was not asked for one then. He insisted that he rummages through my car to try to find one. I grab my keys and left. Never again will I ever go back here. They are understaffed and overwhelmed with bad attitudes. read more
