This place is in the old taco casa of you are local. I think their sauce is better than goldies. Onion ring is not crispy so it is probably under a heater or something. Overall worth a try. Beans is good. The meat itself is not flavor so it rely on the sauce to compensate. Every bbq in town is like that so I don't expect more

My NOW & LATER. The BBQ Nachos can feed two easy unless somebody will be extra greedy. The Brisket sandwich feels every bit of a pound of meat.

The stars are for it being very clean inside & cool decor. Unfortunately we will not be backI like to try & be positive, but I tell truth. Husband had ribs (extra sauce) cole slaw, baked beans & texas toast. I did 2 meats-chicken & brisket, potato salad & onion rings. According to husband rub meat was dry & glad he asked for extra sauce. He did not like beans nor the cole slaw. Both my meats were very dry. I liked my potato salad. Onion rings were very greasy. I hope we just caught them on a bad day.

Hands down the best BBQ in Vicksburg. It doesn't matter what you get, it's going to be good.

Being from another state and also not a fan of BBQ, I was a bit concerned about what I could eat. I decided on a sausage plate with French fries and potato salad! MAN! Was I surprised!!! The sausage was smothered in BBQ SAUCE! it was REALLY good!!! The potato salad was mouthwatering! I could've licked the bowl had there been one! The fries were pretty normal, but disappeared, all the same! The service was great but extremely slow. However, our party had reserved the private room and had approximately 40 people in attendance. It is my assumption that the restaurant would've brought in extra help to attend to the private party, but it definitely didn't seem like it had. The restaurant side didn't seem too busy, but I'm sure our large party slowed the kitchen down! Either way, they knocked it out of the park! The portions were quite sizable and several people went home with doggie bags! I don't think anyone was too disappointed!

Goldie's was a mixed bag, which bummed me out a bit because there were some brilliant bites, and a good bit of lost opportunity. We went for a early lunch, around 1pm. I got the three item platter running about $24 bucks. BBQ sliced beef, sausages, and ribs. My wife got a simple cheeseburger and fries, about $10 I think? Plus two drinks. I asked for two items to be sauced and one item, the ribs, not to be. The sauce - sweet, vinegary, with a good flavor. But...a bit one note. Not bad, just a little flat. Wish it had a little heat or a little smoke or something to make it pop. Which made the fact the sausage and sliced beef was drowned in it kinda sad. Texture of both was great, and what I could decern in terms of individual flavor was nice ... But the sauce took over both. The ribs had an amaaaazing flavor, peppery with the right amount of salt. Really liked the rub. Really good flavor on these. But, they weren't sliced apart, with a bone plate still holding them all together. Imagine getting three ribs still attached at the bone that's still so tough you need to saw them apart with some effort before you can get to eating them. I was hacking and pulling with a knife and fork for a couple minutes to seperate em. That being said once I actually got to eating them, it was great. Not kidding, the flavor of these things was amazing. Really glad I didn't drown em in sauce. Just wish they were a little softer. Not fall off the bone, cuz that's pulled pork and not ribs...but, I shouldn't have to saw at them with my front teeth to take a bite. My wife said her burger and fries were good, and she actually got another side of fries because of how crispy and flavorful she said they were. She said the burger reminded her of the Frosty place growing up. But the Burger? She took a bite ... Then took all the veggies off because of off textures. To me, that said the tomatoes and lettuce was mushy/mealy. The actual building was comfy and homey. Fun historical decor. Booths were comfy. Sweet tea was ON POINT. Side of toasty bread was peeeerfect. Cole slaw was fresh, crunchy , with the right amount of dressing. Wait staff was really kind and polite. Would I wanna go back here? Yes, absolutely. I want more ribs, and I wanna try the other stuff sans sauced. I just hope the ribs are softer when I do. Three and a half out of five.

I am 100% convinced that the woman at the front did not want us at the restaurant. I'll just say that I'm a little on the "dark side" & my wife is from "further south". I don't know if she was an employee or the owner, because she didn't utter a word to us when we walked in. We were the only customers in the restaurant at the time. She was wearing an apron so I assume she was the chef. From the time my wife and I walked in, she glanced up, saw us, then did not make eye contact again. She didn't greet us or acknowledge our existence for a few minutes. We travel heavily throughout East Tennessee, Southern Kentucky, and Southwest Virginia for workk. This type of behavior is almost NEVER experienced by us when we frequent local businesses and restaurants. It must be something different out here in Mississippi... Didn't even matter that we were both wearing our Veterans hats, which we usually do when traveling through "certain areas" of the country. I can only imagine how she would have reacted if we had worn the hats of our home countries of Haiti & Colombia! Anyway, the young man that did service us was very polite and helpful. The brisket was exceptionally delicious, and the chicken was perfectly cooked. The potato salad and the mac & cheese were a little under seasoned. We had to add some salt and pepper to make it better. The young man informed us that this was the first day that they were offering blackberry and blueberry topped parfaits. We also ordered one of those. It tasted delicious! My wife was very happy with it, and she is not a fan of sweets at all. All in all, it was a good meal that would have been great had there been a little more hospitality. This was our first time, so there may be some things that I missed. Maybe this is one of those Seinfeld "soup not-see" places. No chit chat. Just take your food and go. We will most likely order again on our way back, but I think I'll have to make a new DoorDash account so that my food doesn't get tampered with. I mean, that brisket was ON POINT! . It's the kind of eatery where the waitresses call you "baby" which is a respected Deep South Tradition. I ordered the 1/2 po boy & 1/2 gumbo lunch with a side dish (I chose baked potato salad) for $14. The food arrived about 10 minutes later. My sandwich was a grilled shrimp po boy on bread that tasted like it was from Gambino's. It was very good taste wise and I enjoyed it. Ditto on the cup of seafood gumbo with shrimp in it and with a good tasting roux too. Finally the baked potato salad was creamy, cool and flavorful. Altogether this was a very good meal. On the front door is a sign saying that they charge an extra 4% for credit card usage. Also, on my check were two prices, one for cash and the other for credit. While I detest restaurants that charge extra for credit card usage, I will give Gumbo Pot credit in that they clearly disclose that fee on the door and on the bill but I still hate it.
