I asked her if any of them worked in the hotel. Again, a blank look. The employees are total imbeciles. I have some valuable items and medicines which I wouldn't dream of leaving in my room. I had to pack everything up everyday and head out for the day. I came back and needed a spare room key. While waiting in line the staff was fighting over scheduling issues and the people in front had ti wait because their room hadn't been cleaned. The clerk informed them he would take 5 minutes and clean the bathroom. 5 minutes to throughly clean a bathroom??? My room. The sheets are wrinkled but I could find no other evidence of some sleeping in it but I suspect the sheets are old. The carpet is matted down, the door lock assembly is loose and the dead bolt won't engage. There is t one USB port in the whole room. Please spare yourself the hassle, the unpleasantry, and shear creepy nature of this place.

We had to extend our stay for three days due to a snow storm . Even though the hotel was full they managed to get us into a bigger more expensive room with a hot tub but charged us the same rate as we were paying before. Indoor pool clean , well maintained. As of 2015, the new owners are great. They have made many changes and improvements such as replacing the water system for the cabins and implementing resort-wide Wi-Fi. I hope the good changes continue to come. Fishing is generally good, especially for crappy, bluegill, and bass. They have boats available for rental as well. As for the resort, there are a number of water toys available such as canoes, paddle boats, etc. The swimming area has a raft that is an absolute blast to play "Tilt the Raft" or "King of the Raft." They also have a water trampoline. The costs can be pricey, with the regular cabins running around $1300/week, but overall it is definitely worth it. Weslake Resort simply has more benefits than other resorts can compete with. Would recommend!

It was nice having a couch and chairs that I could relax on rather than just having to sit on the bed. The odd thing to me, however, was that there's no closet and no great place to put your luggage. I think even a freestanding luggage rack would go a long way. They did have someplace to hang your clothes, but I do prefer an enclosed closet to cut down a clutter. I ended up putting my suitcase on a table. The breakfast selection was good. Very similar to other hotels like it. My biggest disappointment is that the associated restaurant is no longer open. It would be nice to wind down the evening with a glass of wine and a snack, but you can't have everything.

The last BW we stayed in was in Illinois and it was unexplainably humid inside with a terrible moldy smell so I didn't have high expectations, but this one was very comfortable. Our room was clean and bright, the air was cool and dry, no smell, huge TV, abundance of towels, across the street from a gas station, Target, a few restaurants so the location was convenient... My favorite thing was the complimentary breakfast! There was actually quite a large variety of food and beverage options, and I cannot rave enough about the woman working in there. She was constantly in and out clearing dishes, keeping the food stocked and covered, wiping up every little crumb, and making conversation with the visitors, and asking if there was anything we needed that wasn't already out, etc. she was so friendly and helpful! I don't know if/when I'll ever be in Fergus Falls again but if I am, I'd come back here. My only complaint is that of all the cable channels, somehow Food Network was missing?
