We'd try to kill them with a broom and they seemed to be multiplying by the millions. The room was super clean and spacious. The dock was a BEAUTIFUL spot to watch the sunset. After checkout the next morning, we got a call from Sweet Janis letting us know that the "hatch" of the flies was unexpected and not normal and THEY REFUNDED OUR STAY!! We did not complain, they just....wait for it, DID THE RIGHT THING. I am so impressed with their integrity. Lovely resort, recommend.

Back then a good resort cabin was one where the screens weren't ripped and the screen door closed to keep the misquotes at bay. Boy things have changed. Scott and Beth's Otter Tail Beach Resort is nothing at all like those resorts of my childhood. I stayed in one of the smaller cabins and it was modern, clean, and very functional. There was a nice complete kitchen area, a TV, and a nice shower right in the cabin. The woodwork and detail was awesome. In some ways the cabin was nicer then my house. When I'm in the area again, I will definitely stay here.

Two side by side kitchens make meal prep fun for a crowd. We spend leisurely days at the private beach, or on the lily pad, fishing off the dock or kayaking and paddle boarding. We camp but we have had friends stay in the cabins. We stayed in the wooded sites kindling is our favorite, big sites easy to pull thru and lots of space for the dog to hang out too. Fire pit is always cleaned up and looking nice. Water and sewer hook up area is clean and looks nice too! We have stayed in the sites facing the lake too and those are nice as well. I have heard the lake is beautiful but we have not been out on the lake yet! We always look forward to our next stay!

The lake itself is wonderful. Very clean and hardly any people (at least when we are there). The family that owns East Silent Lake are some of the kindest and most hospitable hosts I have ever met. They truly go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. The resort offers many activities and equipment: Pontoon boats, fishing boats, speed boats (if you want to try water-skiing, wake-boarding, etc.), kayaks, paddle boards, etc. It was a great week and we look forward to going back in the future!

The cabins have always been clean and well taken care of and they they have 14 total cabins. They are always very accommodating they work out something if you have an extra boat or extra people. It is more of a family setting,they have a swimming area and some resort owned kayaks and a canoe as well as paddle boat. They also have a volley ball and shuffle board court. In the office they have board games ( for rainy days) , ice cream , clothes, Bait and fishing advice if you want To know where to catch 'em . It's located bout a mile from the heartland trail so town is a short bike ride away.
