Prepare yourself to wake up when you come in here. Like I mean if bright lights are not your thing, steer clear of this spot. It is like walking into the path of a vehicle with their high beams on. But, it also lends itself to the fact that you will definitely be able to find yourself something without even knowing you need that item. We honestly just came in here to scope it out. I ended up walking out with a bag of things I didn't necessarily need. This would be a great place to buy a gift that not all other stores carry. They do carry a lot of licensed items from many different brands. What got me, however, are the snacks. These are snacks that are almost exclusive to the overseas markets. Items that you would have to find a place, mostly located within a city, that specializes in them. This store is bringing those snacks to the masses. What I can tell you, if you come across an item and you fall in love with it, buy more than one. You are not guaranteed to find that again or at another location. Also, it does not hurt to try something new. Might I suggest the cucumber flavored chips? Also, they will charge you for a bag in here. This particular MINISO is located in Westmoreland Mall. My husband and I shopped here one time. We saw a wide variety of products such as toy cars, face washes, cosmetics, stickers, foreign beverages, and much more. I thought that the prices were moderately high. The employees' service was very good. An employee greeted us when we entered the store. Another employee was tidying up the shelves of products. A third employee was the cashier, and was had ust a short wait for him to ring up our purchase. I bought a small bag of Chinese cucumber-flavored potato chips for a few dollars. I felt interested in them, and they tasted OK.

I rarely remember that this place is around, so I do not shop at this Hallmark store as often as I do at some other locations. During the times I am there, it doesn't seem like many other people are shopping here as well. Because of the limited amount of customers inside the store, one is sure to have the total undivided attention from the store clerk. I generally welcome such attention, however, I find it unnecessary when I am shopping for greeting cards. The store is very clean and orderly, and their prices are in line with most Hallmark shops. In addition to their greeting card line and giftware, they carry purses, jewelry, and clothing. I also noticed giftware for sports fans and there is an area of boxed chocolates. I like the way the store presents itself, and the fact that they want to offer their customers the best service possible, but it is also important to allow your customers to shop freely by themselves.

If you quickly need an ingredient or two, this makes it very convenient. The aisles are well stocked and cleaned nicely. Great layout and easy to find what you are looking. Too funny that most Dollar Generals come ready with 4-5 self checkouts, but like most... this one had them all closed and only allowed normal checkout with the employee. However, he was very nice and quick, so no big deal!

It is not what it seems by its name. It really only has one big department - outdoorsmanship. If you can wear it, walk in it, camouflage in it, shoot it, cut with it, or lock it safely away in a cool metal safe, Saloom's has it in a variety of sizes and colors. Ever since I started coming out to this part of Appalachia and was introduced to this great old store, I have made my annual pilgrimage over Christmas. It is the place to get those unusual (for me) gifts for the brothers in law who spend most of their free time hunting and fishing in the beautiful hills and vales of this part of the Allegheny Mountains. Boots, Camo jackets and pants, steel blades for every purpose, insulated hunter's overalls, bows, arrows, ammo, scopes and a million Woolrich sweaters and Browning shirts piled high on shelves in the back room in amazingly attractive styles. All this in a 3rd generation store with broad plank floors, and 12 foot tintype ceilings. There is even a 14 point elk on the wall guarding the premises. I always manage to find something that I like, and whatever I get for my brothers is always appreciated. Today, I found two 3 button sweaters in cotton and wool that fit me and instantly made me look like Jeremiah Johnson. Son needed a new camo sweatshirt, and the dad in law liked the feel of his new pocketknife with its glimmering Georgia Steel blades. I am an easy mark in Salooms, coming from back East, and lacking the growth of beard and twangy argot of the locals. Still, they know who I am and my people, so tolerate my presence knowing I will be leaving with a nice chunk of their inventory. If you ever find yourself in this part of the world and love the touch and feel of a true piece of old fashioned American mercantilism, track down Saloom's and take a look around. I defy you to walk out without something you never knew you needed, but suddenly cannot live without.

I live maybe 20 miles from mt. pleasant and salooms dept. store , drove by the store many many…read moretimes just thinking it was another clothing store...was I in for a surprise...I was wising for years that there was still an old fashion sporting goods store ...let me tell you there still is...I had a late start for hunting season and was looking for somewhere to buy a license, other than a big box store someone told me salooms had them...I couldn't believe it, so I stopped by. Sure enough they have hunting and fishing licenses and I think everything you could imagine for hunting and fishing....so much nicer than these big super stores which by the way I avoid at all costs so my advice would be to stop by and check them out...good friendly people that know what they are talking about

We wondered around the store looking for this table when low and behold we look up at some point to see it displayed high up on a platform. I guess this creates more floor room but not super convenient to get to. We get an associate and express the interest in purchasing it. We are then told it's on clearance and is the last one available. I asked if there was anything wrong with it, and was told no, so SOLD. Now we have to wait for someone to get it off the wall. This proved pretty challenging oddly enough. So this store reminds me of a cheaper version of Pier One. Lots of cute home décor items, some small furniture and other various items. They have some cute stuff so if you're at the mall in Monroeville it's worth a stop.
