Honestly, I'm that…read moregirl who can't walk past a soap/lotion/candle store - so I've tried a LOT of products and their soaps and body bars are my go-to top favorites - soap is cleansing but moisturizing like no other (seriously, I can't stress that enough)- scents are wonderful, yummy, but natural and not overpowering. The body bar!! I have sensitive skin and I'm a tad bit lazy, so having a bar that I use before I step out of the shower and towel off, but is also leaves my skin feeling like velvet, non- greasy and will even last through another shower - AMAZING!! And they last a loooong time - great value. (I keep mine on a wire rack that is always way above any water spray, fyi) I mean, we all should be buying their products because they are waterway safe and they support monarch butterflies, but that is the bonus really. The cherry on top - we buy products that work and that we enjoy, and they are winning in these categories! Oh, and they were so nice when I was there in person!!

It was the first time that I stopped here although I have visited Madison many times. It was fun walking through the booths checking out the items everyone had. There were lots of antique booths as well as some booths that had new items so you will find a mix of goods here. I love costume jewelry and was able to find a couple of unique pieces to bring home, I also have been on the hunt for a mirror and I found it there as well. In one of the new booths I found a purse/clutch that I really liked and of course had to bring it home. Lastly I found an art booth toward the front of the store that carried new items and a few items that were not new like ephemera packs. In the art booth they had some silicone molds that I have a project in mind for and they had a basket of them marked down so I indulged there. The prices, like all booth type stores, are determined by the vendor so there is always good and bad. We got up to the counter to pay and there were two people there doing the checkout and they got us wrapped up quickly and out of there. I will definitely be stopping here again as the husband was with me and I just did not get to shop look enough!

This is the stuff dream bookstores are made of!…read more Wow, what a gem. Discovering Village Lights Bookstore was a highlight of our recent day trip to Madison. This two-story shop has a well curated array of new and used books, as well as some books printed by an in-house publisher. It also had such interesting nooks and crannies to explore, like it's kids area with a fake fireplace and "room under the stairs" a la Harry Potter, Mark Twain room and closet-sized reading area dedicated to the late LGBTQ trailblazer Harvey Milk. The prices also seemed reasonable, and it had a large enough selection that you can find something good to read no matter your reading preferences. It was also fun to just peruse book covers post-COVID and post-way too much shopping online. Village Lights is such a special place!
