It is certainly an overrated store that is for sure. The staff is typically friendly but there…read morereally isn't much being offered here. Men's Clothing is very limited (pretty much just Nike merch or dress shirts) and there isn't much of a shoe selection either. Not to mention that everything is painfully over-priced as it is. Not a bad store but not one worth venturing in unless they have a deal going on.

I honestly don't know why some folks in the area make a big deal about this place. It's one of…read morethose stores where they have over priced merchandise from mostly brand name designers. Every once in a while there will be a genuinely good deal, but more often than not, you find yourself looking at an overpriced item that is advertised as being significantly discounted from an even more outrageous price. When you realize that most of the stuff almost certainly is stitched together in some sweatshop overseas with workers that are paid maybe three cents an hour, the gouging hurts even more. On top of all this, pricing is very deceptive. For example, on several racks of clothes, items will be advertised at, say, 25% off. However, when you get up to the register, you find out that there are all of these exceptions (only certain styles of a certain brand name are discounted, even though the whole rack was advertised as being discounted). And the store seems to go out of its way to keep this information from you, presumably so that you'll just pay the higher price rather than go through the aggravation of putting stuff back. Deliberately mixing regularly priced items with discounted ones is deceptive. We went school shopping for our daughter, who can be very particular, so we were willing to pay a little more. The cashier told us we could get a 30% discount if we applied for a Kohl's Credit card. I did so. Then, we found out that the 30% only applied to certain items. That was not how it was presented to us. Yes, I could have just told them to forget it and walked out of the store, but the whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth. And I really try not to be one of "those customers" that store staff have to cope with through gritted smiles. Shopping here reminds me of why I do 80% of my clothes shopping at consignment stores.

New Paris is run-down, cluttered, crowded and smells like an old thrift store. They keep old…read moredresses around for years so we saw a lot of the same dresses this year that we did last year. There are several dressing rooms but only one good mirror so when you are using it there are others awkwardly standing there watching you waiting for their turn. My daughter ordered her prom dress from here. She went in for a fitting about a month ago and after alterations were done they called her to let her know the dress was ready for pickup. When she went in for her final try-on appointment (a week before prom) they told her they could not find her dress. She waited there while they looked for 45 minutes and finally was told to go home and they would call her when they found it. She did not have her dress for her hair trial appointment the next day like she wanted. They did finally call her and tell her they found it. I assumed that they would give us some concession for our time and trouble. When they did not I asked about it and after arguing with them they agreed to give us $10 off. Off of a $610 dress. This place has no modern technology whatsoever. They give you a paper receipt that matches the tag they put on the dress and are very snarky with you if you don't have it available for every phone call and/or visit you make to the store. They lost the tag on my daughter's dress and were relying on us to tell them how much we had put down on the dress. We were honest and told them we had only put $200 on it but apparently honesty did not pay off. I have a younger daughter who will be shopping for prom in 2 years, who was standing next to me when she was arguing with me about offering some concession for our troubles. It was not obvious to them that good customer service might be in order to make future sales. Knowing that we have three daughters they still chose to give poor customer service and have effectively cut themselves out of the running for two years of prom dresses, and potentially three wedding dresses down the road.

Warning!!!!! After my daughter was having a difficult time I thought we would stop and try on prom…read moredresses for a mood lifter! We had already purchased a dress in Paris, France but what girl doesn't love to try on prom dresses! Besides she still wasn't sure it was the one! So after a few we had to hurry out for her to get to work. I myself hung the dress back on the circular rack and we exited out of the store. After a few days New Paris apparently has sent out a search for a stolen dress from their store. I was only made aware of this because my daughter called me from school crying to tell me she was being accused of taking the dress! And questioned by the principal of her school. Of course they felt it was prudent to discuss it with other students before verifying the story! She was being shamed and made fun of! Because the New Paris store owner called the school and was acusinging my daughter because she had taken a picture of herself in the dress and the cruel bitches at the school and the community decided to go on a witch hunt. My daughter was in hiding at the school because of all the talk! No one from the school bothered to call me!!!! After a second call my daughter had the school official get on the phone. I firmly explained this never happened and made way to New Paris! Well what do ya know! There half on a hanger is the dress in the center rack is the very dress the owner claimed was stolen! Not only stolen but told the school that Myself the mother helped by distracting the owner while my daughter took the dress! Adding that she had myself and my daughter and her little sister on camera making away with the dress! WOW! So I'll also add I filmed myself coming empty handed into the store ! And she went a step further and ACCUSED me of planting the dress! This ass has lost her mind! Instead of apologizing she continued to insult me! So in short this hot mess of a store doesn't derserve your hard earned money! HOAX FOR SYMPATHY AND BUSINESS AT OUR EXPENSE! To those of you who accused my daughter ! Shame on you! I can only hope Karma comes your way real soon.
