Lovely. I ordered…read morethe Bristol Bad Boy pizza, which was their hottest. And a can of cider, which in itself is cool! £1.50 for a can of Black Rat; OK it's not a bargain but it's bloody nice to have a can of proper cider delivered with a bit of grub. I was surprised at the sheer size of the Pizza, what some call large and what the rest of us fat fuckers call large are two different things. This was large. Dough was good, they also, like the international chain that isn't Pizza Hut, supply a pot of dip for the crust. Really though what I could have done with was a frozen bog roll.... ...Eating the pizza I scoffed. Ha! Call this hot? I've had hotter ice cubes! Pah! I might sue under the trade descriptions act. Loved the freshness of the peppers, but they're not spicy at all!..... ...Then, all of a sudden, BAM! It was like getting punched in the mouth by Mickey, the Bristolian god of fire. I could tell this was a fresh, almost lethal bird-eye or similar. What did I do to deserve this? Why no warm-up Jalepeno or some other "really spicy" thing? Maybe I dreamt it. Maybe the Black Rat was making me hallucinate. My eyes watered, which was handy, because I was watching Armageddon and I didn't want my wife to know it made me cry. But no, 'twas no dream. My bumhole made that perfectly clear this morning. I haven't had a gut-wrencher in a long, long time. I was forgetting what it was like to have your intestines twisted like a load of washing on a spin cycle. It reminded my butthole of prison. Taste wise though, nothing comes close. And Black Rat! Not Blackthorn!!

Excellent value, really tasty pizzas, lovely staff - a firm family favourite. Drop by and they'll…read moredo 2 for 1. Yes, you can enjoy more sophisticated cuisine, but for a take out at a good price, delivered with a smile, these guys are hard to beat.

Adding to Southville's relaxed and eco vibe is this lovely deli. Knowing that Herbert's Bakery in…read moreEaston is one of the best in Bristol, they have wisely got their bread available here and shout about it. Their cheese range is fantastic, a must for any cheese and wine party you are having and talking of wine - check out their organic range just behind you. My favourite bit is the self-service grains section where you bring your own tub and woosh out rice and seeds to your own order. In the back room you can do a similar thing and refill your Ecover bottles from a big vat - including washing up and clothes washing liquids. As with all collections of quality food and eco items, it is a little more expensive but such a friendly and nice store you won't begrudge it.

It's great to have a place like this offering an alternative to supermarkets Organic products. For…read moreone there is just a much bigger selection. Also, for a cheese fan like myself, the Deli offers a brilliant selection, so if I ever have that little bit of extra cash in my pocket i'll spash out on some extra mature chedder ... i'm drooling a bit just thinking about it... The service is brilliant here, the staff all embody the ethos of the shop, and you feel like they will offer you a hand with any queries you can have. There's also a nice seating area outside (covered) which is great to sit a people watch for a while as you sip the fine coffee you've bought inside... that or a great local ale from the selection they have!

The drinks weren't as good as I expected but other than that I would recommend coming here. Such nice decorations as well you really did feel like you were there when getting your food. Also, if you don't finish all your food you don't need to pay extra so you don't have to eat everything on your plate.

Some of the standout items for me came from the Indian station, including dishes like dahi bhalla, Amritsari fish (breaded fish, which was much more flavorful than the fish and chips at the Great British station), tandoori naan, dal tadka, vegetable korma, aloo gobi, rogan josh, and chicken tikka masala, all of which were boldly and authentically spiced. Other items I liked included the reggae wings (jerk chicken wings) from Jamaica; the pico de gallo, guacamole, and smoked salsa from Mexico; and the soft-serve vanilla ice cream from the dessert station. Still there were so many other items that I barely got to try including Thai Green Curry with Chicken, Black Pepper Beef, British beef stew and mushy peas, and several made-to-order stations including dosas, piri-piri chicken, pasta, risotto, and noodles. Everything was quality and delicious, the night market atmosphere was fun and lively, and most amazingly, the buffet was just 13 GBP for a weekday lunch! That's not even enough for a single entree elsewhere in Britain, but here you could get plate after plate of foods from all around the world to your heart's content!
