Finally, the recent hailstorm finished it off completely. Dude comes walking up the street and solicits the roof. At this point, what do I have to lose? OK. So. I never met the adjuster and never spoke to the insurance company at all. Leonic handled everything professionally. All the neighbors are complaining abut the run-around from the insurance company, but not I. The good part is, and I've waited a while to be sure, is the job on the roof itself. They replaced the decking on a large part of the roof (not with plywood, but with one by as the original decking), fixed a large portion of eave, and made it all not leak. I heartily recommend them. We followed their recommendation, worked with a plumber, and then had DLV make some other small fixes they'd recommended. When they came out for the repairs, they went above and beyond by painting the white pipe the plumber put in to make it blend with the roof more. They didn't charge extra for that, they just took the initiative. Also had a great experience with the scheduling staff. Katherine was even able to coordinate with us to have the team come sooner when there was a cancellation.

Terrible stay away from DLV, I can't imagine a worse experience, initial quote which I agreed upon…read moreturned out to be non-color matched hip and roof shingle, then they charge me to get the correct stuff, all along the correct hip shingles are well documented on the Presidential TL bundle wrapper. The first crew turns out to be subcontracted (even though DLV's salesman emphatically stated they don't subcontract), it was this crew who refused to install the hip shingles because the color clashed so badly. After waiting six weeks for the correct hip shingles to arrive through the hail and storms of April they then send a second subcontracted crew. Of course the second crew neglects to trim back the material at the ridge vents creating complete blockage, I bring this to DLV's attention and they argue with me, I say I'm bringing in an engineer, and they say let's have a certainteed inspector look at it for my 5-star warranty, of course the inspector sides with me. Stay away, far, far, away. This Asheville, NC DLV organization, sucks, plain and simple. I would have been better off with a storm chaser, stay far, far away. James, are you listening?

Washed out Drainage Ditch Repairs: Ryan promised a perfect solution to our rain washed out drainage…read moreditch from a 3" to 4" rainfall in July 2024. We signed the agreement in August 2024 and were scheduled for work in October 2024. After postponing the work several times from original date, they did the work in January 2025 when it was freezing cold and snowing. They installed boulders on the edges and replaced rip-rap on about 250 linear feet of drainage ditch. With the first heavy rainfall in February 2025, we discovered huge hollows and holes under the boulders where the rainwater washed under and to the outside of the ditch, then returned back into the ditch, covering the rip-rap with mud; then down to our neighbors yard. These latent defects were not visible when his team finished. After much consideration, in March we called for him to take a look. His answer was "We don't warranty our work! If we do any more work, you must pay for it." We are in our 70's and are making corrections to his $17K repairs of the ditch. With each heavy rain we discover more locations where water flows under the boulders and washes mud out along the outside of the ditch. The work was generally good aesthetically, but would have been much better had these holes not been underneath. Ultimately, the attitude we received from him was the worst part.

However, when we thought were had a leak around a chimney flashing because of some bubbling on the sheetrock ceiling (turned out not to be a leak but some old wet wood, probably from the time before the new roof was put on) I could not get Ray to come out and look at it, despite many calls and texts. Ray said he warranted the job as well as having a shingle warranty, but now I'm wondering about how good those warranties are. Therefore, I am downgrading my rating to three stars.

He turned our very sloped yard into a very useable space with 3 times the amount of flat land and a massive, beautiful patio. The boulder retaining wall across the back yard looks fantastic, another bolder wall next to the house to build up another steep slope and creat a parking pad for us. There was a lot of work to do and the only holdups were due to weather. You can't really move those machines over wet ground without doing more damage than good. Those that did the work or transported the materials were equally amazing. Friendly, informative and pleasant to talk to. They have only been gone for a day and we already miss them. Any future needs for our property will always be sent to Backwoods.
