I generally like Academy because they carry everything I need for my workout wardrobe and everything that I dream of buying one day (gonna have a canoe one day). This Academy has been under construction for a little while now and so every time I think I have the layout down to a science they switch it up on me. It seems like they're giving it a complete overhaul though so it might be a while before it's done, done. Price wise... it's kind of a toss up on whether or not I'm getting a good deal. Any time I'm making a purchase here I just always have to check it out on everyone else's website. I never really buy Under Armour here because I always get better deals at Under Armour on Fort Bliss, but they do carry BCG at a reasonable price. BCG isn't Under Armour or Nike quality, but it gets the job done and they're always very comfortable. I'm not particularly fond of all the Academy brand products because sometimes they just don't do what they're supposed to so I'd say stick to the brands you know. I once bought a water bottle here that had the built in straw... I've had a bunch of these before from different brands, but the Academy water bottle I bought was useless. You had to keep the top in a very exact position in order to get any water out. Hated it. I ended up going back in to get a different water bottle and stayed far from the Academy water bottles (I spent almost $20 though). But I do like shopping here because everything I need for a good run or workout is at my fingertips... it may be a convenience thing.

As a 28-year Navy Veteran and current high school teacher, I was treated like a criminal during a recent online order pickup.I arrived to pick up a shotgun and a pistol that I had already purchased online. I presented my receipt, ticket number, and debit card for verification. The transaction was handled by an elderly employee wearing a black mask. This employee demonstrated severe cognitive difficulties, repeatedly losing his pencil, misplacing my ID, and completely disappearing for 20 minutes. The entire process took over two hours.Despite successfully passing the federal background check, signing all paperwork, and verifying the serial numbers, the employee ultimately refused to release my firearms. His only justification was that I verbally confirmed I bought a shotgun and a pistol--the exact items on my receipt. When I escalated the issue to the store manager, Karla, she blindly sided with the employee's irrational decision instead of correcting the situation.This behavior is completely unacceptable, counterproductive, and disrespectful to law-abiding citizens and veterans. I request an immediate investigation into this store's management, the termination of the employees involved, and a resolution regarding my paid merchandise.

My son's school recommended that I come here for his PE and uniform shirts. I only buy his PE…read moreshirts here. The polo shirts for his uniform are less expensive at other stores. However, I can't find the PE shirts anywhere else. For that reason, I've been coming to Sports World for a couple of years now. I think it's a local business. If it is, that's great! Each shirt I bought was $10.95 plus tax. The shirts include the mascot/logo from my son's school. Whatever happened to wearing any old shirt for PE? It's a small place but they got the job done quickly. I told them exactly what he needed and the rest was history. I was out of the store in about five minutes. Sports World specializes in embroidery and logos on shirts, caps, etc. They also have several other options on their website. I'm sure I'll be back whenever my son needs something for school. I might consider getting a cardigan for myself. I love those things!

They also have other teams and other sports but my focus was for my Dad. I'll be back next week for some Dodgers gear. The store had plenty of selection and the employee who helped me was very friendly & even made some recommendations that I didn't think of as a gift. They sold me somehow the wrong 45 ammo and the wrong 410 shot shells. I kept the 45 for my other 45 rifle and tried to return the 410 shells and showed them they dont fit the length is to long and i proceed to show them the rounds i ordered from another gun store and guess what they fit nice and right. second time went in to get rounds for my 50 and even was told over the phone they carry the rounds and to come get them guess what nope but they tried to hustle me into buying a 45 and i just laughed they wanted nearly 3 k for the dessert eagle 45 AVOID this scam place
