I really wanted to be able to give this a five-star review, but I ate here twice and the…read moreexperiences were vastly different.
The first time, I came about 8pm and was promptly seated. I ordered a glass of wine and the duck with vegetables in a light soy sauce. I also ordered the Thai special dessert, taking home half my dinner, as it was copious. Service was excellent.
The duck that night (and as leftovers) was fresh, tender, and tasty. The dessert was also very good.
I'd sent a picture to my family in the area and they mentioned how much they like Thai, so I invited them for a meal. I made a reservation for the following Thursday night at 6pm.
We were seated quickly and promptly asked for our orders. My one family member ordered what I'd had the week before and his wife had asked for a recommendation for a dish without soy sauce, so she was recommended a fried duck dish that came with three side sauces. I ordered the red curry coconut duck dish.
Our food came out within 10 minutes. My duck was a bit dry this time and the sauce was supposed to be spicy, but it wasn't. Hers was even worse. Her fried duck was too dry to really pick up easily with her fork.
I could tell she was unhappy, but she didn't ask to send it back. She mentioned to me several times, that where they normally go, it's very fresh. She told me later that even her fried vegetables were soft and not crisp, thus not recently fried. His meal he said was fine, although again the duck was far more dry than it had been for me just a few days earlier.
It occurred to us that it was likely leftovers from the midday meal time and that my meal at 8pm previously had been fresh.
This was very disappointing, as it was not an inexpensive meal. The photos I took are of my first meal and my second one. Theirs are not depicted.
I advise anyone going to choose a later dinner hour, to ensure peak freshness, although I cannot guarantee that.
