Big dog vapes is one of the best vap shops I have visited. Dave and Ben are great people to do business with. They are very helpful and stand behind the product. It's a place you can sit and relax and just try different flavors and there are so many new flavors every time I stop by. I have tried different flavors from the Internet but I usually have a bad after taste. Big dog has great juices that you can taste. I would highly recommend this place for anyone attempting to quit smoking. I live in Lombard and take the 30 min drive when ever I need a fill up. I just started vapping to replace cigarettes. I heard about this shop from a friend. I was very impressed. It's a step up from the other shops I've been to. It very clean and inviting. It's more of a lounge. The staff was very friendly and informative since I'm new to vapping this was very helpful. From one of my friends experience, we learned that Big Dog Vapes has very pure juices. He was actually getting a sore throat from another juice and then compared it to BDV's juice and the flavor was more intense (since there are less impurities). I strongly recommend anyone interested in vapping to give BDV a try. Oh but be sure to give yourself a good hour...there's so many flavors to try! read more

I came here with Angela W. I've been to almost every vape store there is in the area. I got a sore throat from vape juice that was supposed to be high quality but it was crap. BDV is the best place I've ever found. The juices are smooth and yummy. I can never decide which flavors to get because I want almost all of them. The owners are AWESOME!!! They are cool, inviting, and always friendly. You won't want to leave. Benny is always super helpful and won't quit until you find 10 flavors you love. Dave is a riot. A bit of a jackass but in a good way. He is always helpful and good for a laugh. Both of these guys will make you feel right at home. To vape or not to vape -- that is the question. Educate yourself first before entering a vape shop so that you know exactly what you are getting and whether or not this is a place for you to "use" if you are trying to give up a bad habit. What habit? Smoking. My friend is a heavy smoker. She used to smoke regular cigarettes and then got hooked on e-cigarettes. Yes, she swears by "Big Dog Vapes" and believes it is helping her to smoke less e-cigs. On the other hand, I have never smoked in my life (maybe the "funny" stuff when I was in my 20's, but that was about all). At any rate, she lives in DesPlaines and asked me to accompany her to "Big Dog Vapes." I was happy to go along and check out this place that she has been raving about for the last several months. We were planning on grabbing lunch at Leona's afterward so I was more fixated on lunch than this joint. I really didn't know what the "F*#!" I was in for when I entered. My friend swears that this is helping her cut down on her "bad" e-smoking habit so I am happy for her. She mentioned "juicing" and I thought "oh, a Juice Bar" -- fantastic! When I think of a juice bar, I think of the green tea smoothies and vegetables that I make at home on my Ninja machine. Well, this is not that kind of "juice bar" joint -- it is not a cleansing juice bar, so don't be confused. The vibe here is relaxing and cool. Of course, I felt so out of place, but kept reminding myself "You're here to support and encourage" her. The Owners are super welcoming, hip, down-to-earth and helpful. Don't be afraid to ask questions. They will gladly answer them. The Owners are worthy of 5-stars. To vape or not to vape -- PG or VG -- which one? Propylene Glycol (PG) versus Vegetable Glycerine (VG). Well, what's the difference you wonder....PG is the most common e-liquid base due to the substance being odorless and flavorless, so it does not affect the e-juice taste. It also provides a stronger throat hit, more similar to a real cigarette. The negative is that it can also dry out your mouth and throat. It has a thinner consistency, which produces thinner vapor clouds. On the other hand, the VG is a thicker solution and produces a much thicker vapor cloud. It also provides a weaker, smoother throat hit. VG is gentle on the throat in that it does not irritate the throat as much as PG does. The negative though is that it can cause a phlegm build-up in the throat or mouth. Yeah, disgusting isn't it? The VG also has a slightly sweet taste and can mask e-liquid flavors. However, I do not see this business becoming the "end all and be all" for people who want to quit smoking e-cigarettes. However, if it is working for my friend so I say A-OK for her efforts. At least she is trying to quit. I don't know if getting addicted to e-juice is the way to go or not, but she seems to believe it is working for her. I'm proud of her for making an effort to quit for good. Let's see what the next fad will be for her once she has exhausted all the "juicing" at this joint. As an avid vaper, I've been to an insane number of shops and have never been more impressed than after my experience at BDV. Benny's juice is clean and second to NONE. I USED to buy my juice from an "online vendor" and the quality was horrific not to mention I went through at least a coil a week. Now, It's not because I wasn't using the right settings because I was, but when Benny turned me on to the ceramic coils my life changed. The taste was amazing and ONE COIL LASTED ME 5 WEEKS. I have the utmost respect for Benny and Nick. They are both incredibly knowledgeable and don't just try to sell you something. If you vape and care about the quality of your juice, don't go anywhere else. They make all their juice in house, it doesn't get much better than BDV! This place is a once in a lifetime experience that you can get every week. The people here are amazing, not only the staff but also the clientele. The customer service is top notch. This is a place you go where everybody knows your name. The place makes their juice in house and it is above and beyond any other vape juice you get anywhere in the country. The couches are super comfortable so if you have the time to try different juices and figure out what you like, you can do it in comfort. The flavors are laid out on trays to try on testers. Also each person that works there is a master mixologist. The television has satellite cable so you can watch TV while you're waiting and trying it out. The staff is knowledgeable and will give you all of what you need and what you need to know going forward with a new tank, with coils, and helping to take a look at your tank to make sure all is well. It doesn't matter what day or time you're there, they always make you feel appreciated and pay careful attention to what you need and help you pick out the right products for your needs. Dave is quite the character, outgoing and friendly, knowledgeable and will make you feel like you've known him for years. Benny is a cool, refreshing enigma. He is definitely worth the experience, and I mean in a good way as in he knows who you are from the first time you come in and that's standard across the board for the entire staff. Nick is a cool, geeky looking dude who seems fun loving and just really laid back.
