I made the mistake of stopping here and politely asking the mechanic for a little help. In response, he got increasingly angry, said it would be too much setup for him, and emphatically told me that he would never let anyone borrow his tools, "never, never." I stopped by Maverick Auto with only about an hour before they closed. I was in a bind and needed…read morehelp with a safety issue before the next day when I had a 3.5 hour drive to a medical center for an urgent appointment. I had called around to several places and no one would help on such a short notice. Tyler didn't hesitate in saying he'd do his best to help me. After about 15 minutes they took my car in the garage. Two incredibly knowledgeable mechanics started working on it. They end up staying a bit past their closing time, apparently because they were helping me. I can't thank Ty and his crew enough. When everyone said "NO" Tyler said "yes he'd help me", and he never hesitated. I was entirely impressed by the mechanics who helped me. We were on vacation in the area for a week. We had a problem with our Land Cruisers front end, we…read morehad broken some studs on a trail while out exploring. Im a mechanic and fabricator and normally don't let anyone touch my ring but me but I only had a basic set of hand tools with me, no drills or bits, no jack stands, nothing I needed to make the repairs so I had little choice. I thought we had lucked out when we found Wesdak, they said they could take a look at it and possibly bandaid it back together while i got the right parts coming. They started the work, while they were working I was on the phone getting the right parts ordered. We went back and forth on a plan. They were going to make it safe to drive while the stud kit came. I spent $250 getting the right parts next day aired from LA. I went to install the studs only to find out they had run the wrong bolts in with an impact gun, ruining the threads and any chance I had of saving the knuckle. I had to pay someone else to weld the knuckle in place so we could continue our trip safely. I called the shop, I left a message for the owner, the mechanic called me, he was very apologetic and said "they" would make it right by giving me a partial refund to cover the cost of the new knuckle $250. I was out $650 at that point. To shorten this up. I never received anything from them, repeated phone calls and texts have gone unreturned. The owner never even had the guts to call me, he made his mechanic do it. I appreciated their willingness to help me out but the attention to detail wasn't anywhere close being that this was a critical part of the steering. Their welding looked ok, but I would avoid them for mechanical work. They don't stand behind their work and won't return phone calls if you have a problem.

On vacation from New Jersey, my VW Jetta TDI required auto body repair. My car trailer was also banged up, and Mike located a fender for it. He fixed the one on the other side before it became a problem. Back in the RV on the way home, towing my VW on the trailer, I'm pleased that professionals at Rt. 16 Auto Body were able to fix everything on time, at a good price, and with high quality.
