We contacted Big Cedar Construction to remodel our basement in a historic house on the eastern side of down time Kalispell. The owner of the company was prompt in responding to our calls and came to inspect the work we wanted done within a day. We were given an honest overview of the work including the possibility of finding issues once we opened up the walls and a promise to keep us informed of anything that deviated from the original plan. During construction Big Cedar kept their promise and for each issue found and we were consulted and given options on best ways to fix with expected prices and pros/cons of each approach. As to be expected with an older house we had a fair number of issues that cropped up. Big Cedar was able to bring in skilled experts to to address these issues in a very timely manner and each time we were impressed with the finished project. We ended up having to redo our entire basement electrical wiring(turned out there was knob and tube and some very scary splices hiding behind the walls) and the entire hot water heating system(many of the pipes were secretly leaking). The owner was on hand to explain each of these issues and her personally inspected the work on each specialist he brought in. He always ensured that work was up to his very high standards. Work always continued at a steady pace even as our project turned from a simple remodel to something much extensive due to the nature of our older home. The workers have been kind, professional, prompt, and respectful. Big Cedar has done such a good job on our basement we'll be hiring them to remodel our upstairs next year. read more
