Our tour guide was a retired high school history teacher and football coach with all sorts of interesting stories about the region. We passed Mount Baldy, the "living" sand dune that moves, at Indiana Dunes National Park and made it all the way down to a good view of the Century of Progress homes before making our way back. We also got to hear all about the ship, the Emita II, which is a historic ship from the 1950s, and about how it reached its current home. It was also very cute that Captain Jan had the kids come up and take turns at the wheel on the way back. There is a snack bar on the lower level of the boat, and there are restrooms on board. Free parking is available a little walk away - walk towards the Lighthouse Museum, as the dock is behind there. Definitely a great adventure!

Anytime you're fishing, you risk coming back skunked but I think that having a guide that is as knowledgable about the lake as Chris at SeaCrete greatly increases the odds that you'll be successful. The boat itself was gorgeous with plenty of room on the deck as well as below- and yes, there's a full bathroom! The Captains were hospitable as can be as well as thorough in their safety explanations prior to leaving dock. They were incredibly knowledgeable and engaging, but would also be happy to keep to themselves to those looking for a more private date. We were able to bring a cooler along with snacks and drinks. Their rates are extremely competitive compared to other charter services. We learned Captain Chris is a high school teacher during the day and it makes total sense- his patience and knowledge are immediately evident. My husband is already planning to book again for a fishing charter, and I cannot wait to bring friends next time. It was his time to shine at 5:30am when we left the dock and he and his right hand man, Nick, were both superstars! We didn't know what to expect for our first fishing charter trip and they had their operation down to a science. From high tech equipment to knowing the water, and excellent customer service, they set the bar so high I don't think I'll ever book a trip with anyone else! There were two times during our trip that we had three people in our party each reeling in a line and Jeff and Nick handled it like the pros they are.
