I called Robert along with several other companies to get quotes on having a large oak tree removed. He came out and gave me a quote, his price was the highest one that I got. What set him apart was that when I asked him if his price included removing the mulch from the stump he said "absolutely". I agreed to his price of $2800.00 and a date was set to begin. The work began on Monday the 13th. At the end of the day on Monday the work was about half done and I received a call from the person I had at the house to oversee the work because they had asked her for a $2000 check. I called and advised them that since the work was not done I was not going to give them a check. No prior agreement had been made to pay in advance. They said that they had spent a lot of money on equipment and had to make payroll, etc.. I gave them the check and I was asked to make it out to another individual, not the company and not Robert Diaz. The work continued the next day and I left the final check with the person at the house. When I returned in the evening I found a 2' deep, 8' long and 6' wide pile of mulch on the patio just outside the sliding door from the kitchen to the back yard. The workers were gone and I asked the person at the house and I was told that she was informed that this was how it was supposed to be done and this is what was agreed upon. They told her that it would go down when it rained. In the mean time the hurricane shutters that had been closed could not be opened, the sliding door was useless as a door, and the sprinkler head was under several feet of mulch. I called Robert and told him what I found and even sent him pictures. He said they would be back in the morning to take it away. In the morning nobody showed up. I called Robert 6 times and got his voicemail all day. Finally my last call I left a voicemail telling him I was going to do this and he called right back and left a message that they would be there that evening. At 7pm I got a shovel and some bags and began picking it up myself. I filled 11- 45 gallon lawn & leaf bags with mulch. Later I got a call from another individual saying he would stop by in the morning to take some of the mulch, I told him I had done it and he apologized and also told me that I should be thanking him for giving me such a good deal. Now, I should be thanking him for the 11 bags of mulch in the back yard that I have to get rid of, thanking him for breaking some of my pavers in the back yard, thank him for breaking the corner off a balcony.... I could go on but I think you get the picture. Call someone else!!! read more
