Very rude persons reached out to me and mocked me because I didn't want to pay for an overpriced apartment. Unprofessional.

So did I mention they don't have an elevator? Who thinks to ask if a hotel doesn't have an elevator? I thought I was playing a scene in "Barefoot in the Park" when Jane Fonda's mother collapses from walking up to her fifth-floor walk-up. But you can't knock a great location, close to not just Union Square but all the great eateries in the Lower East Side like Momofuku. And I was surprised that for all the congestion on 14th Street that the room is pretty quiet. It's just small and non-descript with a bathroom that was almost as big as the bedroom. I secured a double bed for two for about $172 on a Saturday night, so it is definitely one of the better deals in this part of Manhattan. Service is surprisingly nice there and very responsive to requests like getting a private car for the airport. They do serve a free continental breakfast, and unlike the croissants and Nutella you would find in Italian hotels, you see a massive pile of bagels and tubs of cream cheese for the taking. Hey, it ain't the Waldorf Astoria, but if you need a reasonably priced place to crash for a couple of nights in Manhattan, this place is worth checking out...but pack light lest you get a hernia!

The rooms are quaint...I had the single with the queen sized bed with the most uncomfortable mattress. The bathrooms feels cramped tho. And figuring out the shower was like hacking a padlock trying to find that sweet spot of the mis-marked temperature settings. And it's one of those showers that you feel like you wouldn't want to be barefoot in. But positive points include convenient location to subway and union square. They secure the door that leads to the main stairway. And there is a water cooler. And I truly feel like that make efforts to make your stay comfortable. I probably wouldn't stay there unless I was on a super tight budget.

Bcb Property Management Incorporated - Lobby during renovations. WORST of all, they removed the security camera and kept the doors open all day to let workers in.

Perhaps the business name "BCB Property Mis-Management" would be more appropriate in this case…read more BCB is the least responsible, least responsive, and most frustrating institution I have ever been in contact with. I just spent three months fighting them in court over a water leak in my bathroom which lasted for fifty (50!!) days. Last week I won the case, and received a hard-fought 50% abatement on the last eight months of rent. Do not rent from this company unless you want to experience constant headaches for the tenure of your stay in the building. You have been warned. Update: I was recently contacted by a resident in a BCB property who is having trouble getting them to make repairs. I'm copying my recommended steps below for the benefit of all: Here's my recommendation for your next steps: 1. Take pictures of everything. Especially problems that are in your unit (in this case, pictures of the leak are key). Print three color copies of each picture, number & date the pictures. 2. Write a letter requesting repairs. Here's a good sample: nolo.com/legal-encyclope... . Reference specific picture numbers in the letter if possible. At the end of the letter, state that if repairs are not completed by [specified date] you will file an HP Action against BCB in NYC housing court. 3. Send the letter via certified mail, return receipt requested to BCB. Their current address is: 27 Union Square West, Suite 503 · New York, NY 10003. Enclose dated pictures of the violations. When the return receipt arrives, hold onto it. 4. Send a copy of the letter to BCB via email. Attach pictures of the violations to the email, in addition to a PDF copy of the letter (file option when saving in word). Also copy paste the text of the letter into the body of the email. State that a copy of the letter and pictures has been sent to [specify address] via USPS certified mail, return receipt requested. 5. Keep a time/date/employees name log of any interactions with BCB from now onwards. (this includes interactions with your building supervisor, any management staff) etc).

This review is long overdue but I feel that it is necessary to share how terrible BCB is. Do not live in any building managed by them no matter what. You might end up living without a fridge for a month, quick fixes for reoccurring issues, frequent cold showers, and 311 will become your best friend. Our super never did anything, never responded to us either. Same goes for the management company. Man, they are so difficult to get a hold of. How is the property manager always out of the office? I feel robbed. I wish that I could shut the entire company down. Your standard of living will turn to shit once you move into one of their buildings. Why would you want that?
