It has a friendly bar, decent meals, and good meeting rooms - it's an ideal meeting place for groups and for group meals e.g. a works do. It caters for most tastes, and prices are very reasonable. Occasional mistakes and flaws crop up with meals, which are usually rectified easily. I've never seen any of the communal areas anything but clean and tidy and in good repair, which is sadly unusual for even chain pubs these days. It's modern and well-cared for. I've been visiting regularly for about two years, but also used to be taken there about 35 years ago, and apparently it's vastly improved!

However, I did have a couple of issues with the room to begin with the heating was very limited The water in the shower was extremely hard they could really use a softening system for the water It makes it painful to take a shower because of the hardness of the water The hotel room was very comfortable. They have soup of the day for starters, a good sharing selection and other starters. All were yummy. We then waited quite some time for the main. They came out and the fish and chips x2, were a success, and the dirty burger had lots of delicious fillings in, the wagyu burger was a tad tough, but very tasty. Fries with the burgers a bit overcooked. We didn't get table service whilst eating so had to pop to the bar for more drinks. Very nearly a 4. But the waiting was a bit annoying.
