Big 5 is the last local sports shop you can count on! Do they have everything? No. Do they have all the newest and best products? No. Do you have to drive miles and miles to get to the store? Was here recently to get some soccer cleats and equipments for kids. The size for the cleats was a little trick when it comes to Junior selections, which varies from brand to brand. The staff who was helping us was super helpful. She searched through the inventory and identified from options that might work out for us. Since the sizing was mot consistent the whole search was bit frustrating for us, I could imagine her situation. But she handled it so well and finally we could get the right fit. Their collection is quite good. Ranges are different when it comes to soccer equipments, but glad that they had all things I wanted. I don't normally find all these in one place, so it's refreshing to see everything under one roof this time. Great service and amazing collection! Value for money too! read more

This Big 5 location knows what it means to provide excellent customer service! Called ahead looking for a specific running shoe, and Kirsten promptly confirmed it was in stock and offered to hold it for me. My son and I arrived a short time later to a warm greeting, and she hurriedly went to grab the shoes I had inquired about. We quickly realized they weren't the fit I was looking for, so she helped measure my foot and made some informed suggestions. Since those didn't cut the mustard her Teammate Alvin jumped in to help as well. With there help and Teamwork, I was on my way with a pair of kicks that cost almost $20 less than what I was prepared to spend. Went home, ran six miles, and will be picking up another pair soon! Customer experience is pretty bad. I was trying to find right set of dress for my kid and asked them some questions. The associate could help me meaningfully, or even expressed any interest in helping me nail down on to the right thing. This was not my experience in my previous visits though. Big 5 could give some crash course to its associates on customer experience. It could be definitely made better. read more

This is the best Big 5 I've ever been to. The associates are attentive and really go the extra mile. I inquired about an item that they didn't have in store and they offered to find it and get it transferred to their store to save me the trouble. Good selection of kids soccer stuff (cleats/shin guards/ball) at reasonable prices. Good help from the staff. They are a bit tight on space but it works. Will come back next year for same. read more

We went to return a weight bench and the person, who I'm assuming is one of the managers, took our return but was obviously pissed off about it. Didn't even look us in the eyes or say much and overall just gave off a rude vibe. I've been to this location many times and everytime, the workers never seem to know what they're doing so maybe training staff needs to do better. read more

For the longest time I just couldn't remember that Big 5 was in this plaza located on Bothell Everett Highway and 228th Street. It's kind of hidden. Anyway now that I know it's there I'll be going more frequently because the folks that were there when I went were very friendly and helpful. Way better than Sports Authority. read more

I had a much different experience. The staff greeted me and was very friendly. They made multiple runs to the back storage to help both me and my son find a pair that we liked in the right size. The store itself had a variety of sizes (both women's and youth) and we were able to each get an affordable pair of running shoes for a reasonable price. Great overall experience! read more

I called asking if they had any binoculars and spotting scopes and the rep on the phone was nice and friendly. When I went in, they indeed have plenty of both. The young kid behind the gun counter unfortunately did not seem enthused to be working nor knowledgable about what I was asking for. Checkout line was quick and cashier was friendly. read more

They have good deals sometimes, but getting someone to answer a question or retrieve something from behind the counter is like pulling teeth. I don't know if they're understaffed or disinterested. I went by today to pick up some ammunition that was on sale, but no one would help. They just keep saying they'll be back, but no one ever comes. There's hardly anyone in the store. If I wanted to be ignored, I'd go to Wal-Mart. I'm sure some of they're employees are nice and helpful, but the folks that were there today sucked. read more

Wow - I miss Sports Authority already. Horrible customer service - actually no customer service - went to buy soccer shoes for my son - instead of waiting for us to decide as well as the other customers there - he was in the back folding up cardboard boxes - had to go get him repeatedly to get a different size to which he told me I was not allowed in the back - frustrating - the 2 workers up front were just standing around chatting with a girlfriend vs. trying to help customers - Once I find a better alternative I will never step foot in a Big 5 again. They are the ones that should be out of business. read more

I chose one star because there is a great selection of goods conveniently located to my house at this store... unfortunately, unless one particular lady is working, I am NEVER helped. We tried to buy a tent there today, as I keep giving them "one more chance" due to their awesome locations and the fact that the other Big 5s I have been in have been very helpful. First, the tent aisle. About 5 individual tents had price stickers on them. In the middle of the shelf is one price advert- for a cooler. So we went to the front of the store for help. The young man at the register was busy with a customer, so he gets a pass. The other guy, maybe a manager? He was helping no one- and I mean no one. He ignored us. My husband grabbed a flier, and we trudged back to see if we could help ourselves.. unfortunately, the ones we wanted weren't in the flier. So my husband grabbed the three tents and took them to the front, where the second guy was still not helping anyone (as far as we could tell, he was sorting merchandise, it looked like). "Excuse me, sir," my husband asked, "as your tents aren't marked, we were hoping you could tell us the prices?" The guy told us "Yeah, he should be able to give you a price check"- meaning the lone cashier, who still had a line. Nice. At this point, I was done. As we set the tents down and walked away, I think he realized how lousy the service was, and made a half hearted attempt to say he could probably look them up, but seriously. I don't need to beg to buy something I already want to buy. Sheesh. read more
