The owner told us that he has a brewery about an hour east of Berlin that makes the Wanke labeled Pils, Dark and Hefeweizen beers; the IPA that is also offered is made at another brewery. My wife ordered an Apfelschorle drink (carbonated apple juice) that was also very good. For my meal I ordered a small white veal sausage served with a pretzel and sweet mustard, traditional roast pork cutlets served with dark beer gravy, pretzel dumplings and a small bowl of crunchy cabbage salad. All wonderfully delicious and carefully and impeccably made. My wife opted for vegetarian fare. She ordered a small semolina (Griessknockerl) soup, beetroot dumplings and a salad. She mentioned this was her favorite meal she had in Germany! We had a delicious baked apple pastry with almond slices (no raisins) served with ice cream to wrap things up. I like sours, and they only had one, which I didn't like. Most of their other offerings were stouts (hate), IPAs (normally too hoppy), and beers that had low ABVs.
