I'm always down for a street taco, so when I saw a new food cart parked catty corner from the fairgrounds, I had to check it out. It was kind of late, so I wasn't sure if they were open or closing up, but the guys were welcoming and told me they had just opened the day before. They didn't have a menu or signs up but I saw fresh grilled pineapple and and had been craving some good Al Pastor tacos. I knew I had to pick up my daughter from a volleyball game, so the timing was perfect considering I'd been running errands all evening. I ordered three for each of us and they were piled high. I dressed them with fresh cilantro, pico de gallo, onions and took some foil to cover the plates to go before grabbing a cold drink from a cooler nearby. When I went to hand over my card to pay, I learned that they weren't set up for electronic payments. I'm not sure if this will change, but now I know and will come prepared! There's a 7-11 with an ATM at the end of the street, so I ran and got some cash and returned. They didn't give me a hard time at all and said they knew I was good for it. I could only eat two of the tacos, but was glad to have the other the next day. This place is open late until 11 pm, and could become a danger to my waistline, as if I need any further challenges after becoming Covid curvy. read more
