I'm not sure why the reviews don't reflect how awesome this place is, but the experience I just had with Laura was over five stars. It's not a bells and whistles place - simple and clean. I arrived right on time, filled out a form, and was taken back immediately - I was given the full hour too, no skimping on the time. I'm a very tense person with a lot of muscle aches from my job - knots all over. Laura took the time on each spot of tension, always asked if the pressure was okay, and let me sort of lead the conversation because sometimes you just don't want to talk, ya know? After a bunch of life's experiences my body needs a good massage often. Came here looking for a wonderful experience and it fell a bit short. The room didn't really have a relaxing theme as I seen in the picture the owner posted. The beds were not that relaxing either. Once it was time to strip down and get under the table I realized there wasn't a heated bed...that's one of my favorite parts. The massage didn't leave me sleeping.....I was just waiting for it to get better. I hAve to say when she was massaging my neck and shoulders at the end that was relaxing. Do not go here for facials. I started going here once a year for a microdermabraison with Jusith when I was in EP visiting family. In my most recent experience, Cynthia attended me and she left lesions on my neck that look like a hickey. Since I arrived, I noticed the quality of the place has declined. Old and stingy towels and a broken massage table. When Cynthia started the treatment, she was not using proper cleaning techniques. There is a specific way to clean your face so the other areas don't get the bacteria, and she was rubbing all over my gave. The WORSt is when she used to much pressure on the machine, leaving, hickey-like marks on my neck. I left the place and she didn't even say anything to make my neck look better. THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL MASSAGE I HAVE EVER HAD. This was my first time here. I booked a massage for my mother and I on Mother's Day May 12, 2024. We decided to get separate rooms. To start off I started my massage 10-15 minutes after my appointment which was fine, no big deal. My massage therapist was Daisy I believe, she has red hair and wears glasses. I started off the massage face down which is normal. During my massage I kept noticing my massage therapist phone buzzing consistently. I knew it wasn't mine because I turn off my phone while in every massage I get to ensure I will not be bothered what so ever. While I am face down I keep seeing a light but I didn't think anything of it because I thought it might have been ambient lighting in the room. Then I kept noticing she would be rubbing me with one hand and I would hear tapping on a phone. While all this is going on I kept hearing buzzing and buzzing and buzzing throughout my entire massage. When she had me turn over face up, I told myself "maybe it's just in my head" so I tried to calm down and just enjoy the massage. She started to rub my feet and I see a light shining on the ceiling and Miss Daisy wears glasses so I can see the reflection of a phone on her glasses. And I wish I could say it only happened a few times but no it was throughout the entire massage. I'm not sure what she was doing she could've been taking pictures of me, she could have been texting or scrolling through social media. I'm not sure, I was in a state of shock that this was happening to me. How could somebody trained to do this job be so disrespectful to not only someone's time and money but to their vulnerability. I couldn't get out of there fast enough I was so upset. There was no manager on duty and when I called there hasn't been a manager either. This is something that needs to be corrected immediately. Was given the option of the bed warmer so I took it... bed took awhile to warm up. You know what? Sometimes the reviews are so mixed that you kinda wonder if it's worth trying out. Well, luckily for me, this one was a good bet. I bought a Groupon for a couple's massage for $75 1 hr. It was for a Swedish massage and I wanted deep tissue but Swedish was fine for hubby so I took a chance. I called them before hitting the buy button and they answered promptly. I got an appointment in before I bought the Groupon but mentioned that I did buy it. They were fine with it as long as I met the condition of M-Thur. so I booked it for Memorial Day at 7pm. They called to confirm my appointment several times and I ended up moving my appointment to 8pm and they were ok with that, but called back that day and asked me if I could move my appointment up since they had a cancellation. I told them I would keep my later appointment and they accepted that. When I got there with my husband, both masseuses were waiting in the front. I had a male and a female (they had asked me if I had a preference and I said I didn't care) and we filled the permission slip and the receptionist looked at the form and saw that I requested deep tissue even though my Groupon was for a Swedish massage. It was fine and for a $15 per person upgrade we could get deep tissue. We went into a room with 2 tables, after they asked us if we wanted separate rooms or a shared one. I used the restroom and it was very clean and well supplied. We undressed to our comfort level (hubby kept his shorts on) and got under the towels. The music was soothing and not annoying, my masseuse had good breath (yay! for small miracles) and he warned me that the oil/gel was cool which was a nice touch. The beds were heated and I asked about it and they confirmed but they didn't advertise that, even though that's a pretty nifty feature! They didn't speak after getting instructions on how and where we like the massage and got to work on us right away. I think we ended like 5 mins early but it was ok since it was a holiday and late so I wasn't upset. My masseuse was not as experienced as my husband's, but he did concentrate on the areas I asked him to and it was very well done. I heard my husband doing some breathing exercises with his masseuse. They offered us some water and if you check in apparently you get a free eyebrow wax, which was news to the receptionist. All in all a good value if you get the Groupon, and they have a monthly program as well. Besides the slightly annoying calls (seriously I received 4 in one week), it's a great little place if you want a professional massage. read more

I purchased a spa evening for my girlfriend that included wine & cheese, which sounded wonderful. Despite the fact I had already paid for it, she had to request the amenities when she went. She reported the wine as cheap and horrible, which admittedly could be a matter of personal taste, and I wouldn't even report it if it wasn't for the cheese. Oh God, the cheese. They literally brought her a piece of string cheese, in the wrapper. Like the kind you would put in your kids lunch box. I mean, I don't expect fine European cheese or anything. Go to Walmart and pick up a block of bleu, edam, and brie, and some crackers and BOOM, that's a nice cheese tray. Hell, even some sliced cheddar would have been a MASSIVE improvement. In truth I suspect the string cheese WAS from somebody's lunch when they realized, "Crap, we don't have any cheese!" What I don't understand is how anybody thought that was acceptable--no apologies were made. Even NO cheese would have been a big improvement. The massage itself was a typical strip mall massage. I'm not knocking that, it was more or less what was expected. But I just can't get past the cheese. Full disclosure, this was a few years ago. I never miss a chance to share this story with people, though. It's a good example of why it's bad business to offer exceptionally bad service--people never forget. read more

So I made an appointment yesterday for today (Monday at 4pm). Came in and it was a different person who is giving me a Brazilian waxing. The conversation is much more personable this time, kudos. SO customer service has always been well on both of my visits. The one star is due to the fact that I had paid for a service, even though it was a discounted price (you must be on Groupon all the time for this reason), and am extremely dissatisfied BOTH visits for a Brazilian waxing. This time, there was not as much pain or skin peeling off like last time. However, I have had better Brazilian waxing for similar pricings elsewhere back in California. I would much rather pay twice the price if another place is able to wax me clean with quality products. I came home to having to tweeze more than twenty strands of hair of various lengths AND I gave up eventually because I had already counted to thirty strands. So I had to shave patches of hair down there by myself since I do not have wax at home. THIS REVIEW IS STRICTLY FOR MY WAXING EXPERIENCE. I do not recommend getting waxed here. I do not recommend it even at the discounted value from Groupon. I was considering that membership until I came home to see that the service I paid for was wayyyy below average satisfaction. For anyone who is interested in the membership here, I was told there is "no fee", but you need to leave a credit card number with them. Each month a $49 withdrawal will incur on your credit card, but this credit goes towards to your treatment at the "spa". P.S. Please do not call me and ask me to take off my review. Do not offer me any complementary treatments as it is NOT worth my drive from Las Cruces to your business location. I visited Bien Estar to celebrate my birthday, and was looking forward to a relaxing facial. I arrived, and the front desk was very disorganized. I didn't get a very professional vibe from the get go, because the spa manager was speaking in a loud, bullying manner to other spa employees. The spa manager ruined my visit, because the last thing I want to experience is a mean, nasty, or vulgar sounding personality at what is supposed to be a relaxing space. I opted for the quicker microdermabrasion service and a brow wax. Both services went very well. The esthetician was quiet, did a good job, and did her best to provide me with a relaxing experience. I was sitting in the lobby, waiting for my mom to get out of her service when...the unspeakable happened: I witnessed a BLATANT DISREGARD FOR STATE BOARD REGULATIONS when an older woman came in with her tiny lap dog into the spa and allowed it to walk around. The client with the dog was there for a massage. Nobody asked her to remove the dog from the spa and the lady went into her massage appointment with the dog. I have been a beauty industry professional since I was 19 years old and I am a licensed cosmetologist in Texas and Colorado. It is against state board regulations to have any type of animal in any type of salon/spa establishment. Verdict: I'd never go back. The star is for the esthetician who tried her best, but this place is the worst. I attended here on or about 2/13/14. read more

I have read the other reviews for this business, and am frankly shocked. I did not have the same experience as anyone else on here. I don't know what to attribute this to, maybe the owner made changes, maybe it's due to the service/masseuse I received, but either way I think it's only fair I share my experience with BienEstar: I had a Swedish massage with my aunt in early January. The room was clean/warm, the aroma was nice. The beds were heated. My masseuse used a firm (perfect for me) amount of pressure, spent equal amounts of time on all areas, and used knowledgeable techniques. She also paid special attention to my problem areas which she inquired about prior to the massage. The massage was relaxing, helpful for my body and felt extremely well paced and not rushed. I will definitely go back to this establishment. My aunt has a membership to this business and the prices are the most fair I have seen for a massage. It was well worth the money. The only negatives I can say are that the area is not so nice, strip mall-y, next to the dollar store. And the masseuse did apply cold oil straight to my skin but it did not affect my overall wonderful treatment. read more

The receptionist and masseuse were nice. That is about the only pro in the experience. The spa itself is bland. No decorations to speak of. Nothing soothing or calming. The rooms are down a dimly lit hallway. I was put in a couples massage room for my individual massage. The table was just a standard massage table. No heat. Covered with one sheet. The location and pictures that are shown above are not this actual location- I believe that was their old location. The massage was bad. The lotion they used was cold and thin. The masseuse seemed like he did not know what he was doing, and it showed. The whole thing felt awkward. No consistency in pressure. At certain points, he yanked on my limbs, and at one point seemed to try and yank on my neck. I am an osteopathic physician, and trained in manipulation. He was clearly not. This can end up throwing your body into misalignment, and even be dangerous if you don't know what you are doing, ESPECIALLY with the neck. Needless to say, I will not be back to this spa. read more

Had such a great first experience here! I'm very bad with names, but the lady I had was awesome, always asked if it was enough pressure and made sure I was doing well. Awesome atmosphere and beautiful rooms. I liked that the music filled the whole room, not just from a little speaker. The only complaint I have, which isn't much, was that the lady at the reception desk wasn't super friendly, just said what she had to and nothing more, except to her coworkers. Not bad for a last minute much needed massage! Booked a Swedish massage for my mom and I over the phone. The first lady could not understand anything I was saying but told me to come in at 3pm. Once I asked about specials, she had to transfer me to someone who spoke english. The second lady told me that the first lady set me up for two swedish massages at 4:15. Uhmmm okay? Overall the massage was good. Not the best I've ever had, but not the worst. My mom requested Robert for her massage and was very happy with hers. Turns out when we went to pay they gave my mom a deep tissue massage, which we did not ask for and on the paperwork they make you fill out before we both put swedish. Though there were some small minor growing pains, Bienestar has risen to the challenge and continues to provide excellent service for a very competitive price. Abraham was fantastic, his massage was great! However, front desk employee or owner was extremely rude! One can say that they move in a fraudulent manner as front desk will quote you a price for service and upon payment they price you something totally different! I was quoted $89 for a 90 minute massage. I asked 3 times and I let them know I had been there before and still was quoted $89 over the phone! However, when paying I was told it was $109 and the person was extremely rude and blaming her new hires for the mistake in price and still charging $109. She wouldn't return my debit card and was very rude! All that great job Abraham did was instantly destroyed by such front desk personnel, might have been the owner as this such individual was entitled, capricious and blatant, unapologetic and trying to make it look like she had done me a favor! We went in for a couples massage for 90 min. First we booked Friday. Then we were told one of the girls got into a car crash and was in the hospital. They couldn't find a replacement so we were rebooked for Monday and promised aromatherapy as a free add on for the re boo . At the time I felt bad for the girl and hoped she was ok. They did have good contact with phone calls. So come Monday we go in and we sign in. I mentioned asking if the girl in the car accident was ok. 2 girls looked confused, then all of a sudden it was like oh yeah. The girl in the so called accident was right there. She had a surprised look. I had a feeling it was a lie and I caught them in the lie. Second lie they never gave us the aromatherapy either. I was told I could pay for it. I said no that's not what you said. Then she tried to ignore me. So I just ignored both lies. So we go to the back and massage time. My husband's massage was 5star. Go for the Male there (I didn't catch his name). The girl I had...OMG WORST MASSAGE IVE EVER HAD! I've had better ones in the mall. The girl kept checking her phone, the room was freezing and I asked for a blanket and she ignored me. This girl needs to be fired and get into a different line of work. After 30 min I was done I wanted to leave. Even at a point she was pretend massaging with the blanket on me. I will report this to groupon. I gave the girl at the counter a $20. I'm not a horrible person. I told her $5 for my girl and $15 for the guy. If you are the guy and see this post, please go to a better salon. My husband really loved the massage. Worst massage I have ever experienced. I was in the west side of town when I decided to get a massage on the whim. Luckily--(or not so luckily) Bien Estar said that they had an opening in ten minutes. I rushed over and was excited to get to relax. Unfortunately, the masseuse did not seem to know what he was doing. He gave a one handed, pinching massage, which did not feel nice at all. I was almost tempted to show him how to give a proper massage. I would be surprised if he has any sort of certification because he seriously seemed to be clueless about the right techniques and amount of pressure. A friend and I found a Group to this place and couldn't resist the price. Well you get what you pay for (luckily I told my friend to return the Groupon). My appointment was at 1000 am. I arrived at 0930 and the place was freezing. I asked the receptionist if she was cold and she said" I just turned on the heat". The same person that was at work at 0845 calling me to confirm my appointment waited an hour to turn on the heat. Mind you I knew in less than 30 mins I had to get undressed in the cold and it is winter time so you know its cold! My masseuse came into work at 1005. After she got ready (about 5 mins) she called me back and the first thing she tells me is she is tired (assuming because she is pregnant). The room was of course very cold. The rooms are dingy and the ceiling tiles need to be replace from what looks like dirt and water damage. The blankets were so thin I could see my skin through them. So she tells me to lay facing up for the first portion....which in 15 years I have always begun laying down because that allows the customer to relax and get used to being naked slowly. But she proceeds with my head then neck shoulders arms (with cold Lotion that she doesn't even warm up in her hands first)....wait a minute the cover is coming off of me and a towel is being placed over my breasts....no way she is massaging my stomach! She then places the blanket back on me and removes the towel. Another first and VERY awkward moment. Her time on limbs was not distributed evenly 10 mins on one leg 4 on the other. I finally am told to flip over and it she then rubs my head again with lotion all in her hands....What the heck I am a white female and my hair is done....do you think I want lotion in it???NO!!! Getting dressed....and there is no mirror to fix myself. I have to get dressed and walk down the hall to the bathroom and I look horrible because my hair looks like I just rolled out of bed. Needless to say my friend will return his groupon and I will not be back. I rather spend a little more and go to massage envy or heck even Barragan' salon, more expensive but they pay attention the the details of the massage and heat! read more
