"Santa" brought my son a bicycle for Christmas but somehow forgot a helmet so today's errands took us to Lake Worth and Bicycle World. The old days of Walmart having half a dozen Huffy bikes on a rack are long gone. Today's bikes are serious business, with some costing hundreds and even thousands of dollars. Impulse buyers by nature, our trip for a helmet also found us bringing home new pedals, some wheel pegs for doing tricks, and a tube of grease that cost more than what I use in my truck. Truth be told, I've used this shop before when I used to mountain biking and trail riding, their prices are fair, the staff is knowledgeable, and they have a great selection, with bikes, tools, gears, and a full service shop on site.? read more

Juan was awesome! Our son wanted to exercise and get a bike during the coronavirus. He brought out beautiful bikes to drive around the parking lot. Great prices & really knowledgeable staff. Juan asked about biking style, height & brought out bikes into the parking lot. He explained the pros @ cons of the bike & showed us accessories & how to adjust seat @ remove the tire. By the time we were done there was a line outside of people waiting for parts,, needing repairs & shopping also. Impressed that the bike has a lifetime warranty & free tune up in 6 months. The store was large we would have enjoyed exploring inside, we will be back because I'm now thinking about a new by too. read more

My friend and I went in with three bicycles. Two were to be to be dropped for maintenance, and we had my bike which I just bought and road rode for the first time. We got the two bikes checked in, and then I asked him if he could take a quick look at my bike The drive chain was clicking on the derailleur, and the chain had come off, twice and I'm too newbie to make any adjustments...yet. The representative of this store looked at me and said, "Well, if you would like to call the other customers and tell them, that I won't be working on their bikes because I'm working on your bike...blah, blah, blah..." I replied that a simple yes or no, if he was too busy, would have been fine. Then, I think it was the manager, came out and asked about the bikes we were dropping off. So I asked him to take a quick look at my bike, and he ROLLED HIS EYES at me. I immediately rolled my bike out the front door. NEVER GOING BACK THERE AGAIN! they were both humiliating in demeanor, and the are going to lose 3 customers or more. read more

We just moved into the area and I called to inquire about tune-ups for two used adult hybrid bikes that a friend had given our family to enjoy. Over the phone, they told me tune-ups are $90 for each bike, but they first assess the bike and then tell me what will be needed. I dropped off the bikes and was told I'll receive a call in an hour or so with an assessment. Within 30 minutes they called me to deliver me the news. They could have told me whatever they wanted, I wouldn't have really known the difference, and I probably would have just paid as long as it wasn't egregious. Instead, the guy said the bikes are in great shape, only one bike needed a tweak to a gear, and it was only going to cost $15. And, the bikes would be ready by the time I returned to pick them up. I was floored by their honesty. Especially during these stressful times of Covid-19 and businesses are hurting, they could have taken this opportunity to squeeze me. It goes to show how conditioned we are to expect the worst. They won me over with their honesty and gained my trust. And because of that, I'll go back for all my biking needs. I was so disappointed when I called their store. All I was able to say was "I am interested in Bike Model X", and the immediate answer was that model will not be available for 3 or 4 weeks. Hmmm, I guess he just knew it was a sale, and that more importantly I had no questions about the bike model. The bright side is employee did answer one of my questions, how helpful is the store..... All I have to say is there have been a couple of bike shops that were extremely helpful and wanted to know what questionions I had, before discussing the lead time for delivery. Good thing is not every business is going to be a good fit with every customer. read more

My Dad and I wandered in today looking for new bicycles and I was quite pleased with the wide selection of bikes and the service we received. I discussed the type of biking I would be doing and the sales rep lead me right to the bike we wound up buying. He then helped my Dad select a bike and was very knowledgeable and was clearly more interested in finding the right fit for the rider than up-selling us to a more expensive bike. Working with Jamie and the team to find the perfect bike was a great experience. After doing a ton of research, I settled on a Electra Townie - 7 speed with fenders and a light. What a great and comfortable ride. It pays to spend a bit more for quality. Jamie also helped me pick out an odometer and a basket for the front. He installed both quickly. We also brought in my husbands bike for a tune up - and he said he felt like he was riding a new bike! The store is very clean and well organized and I recommend it highly. read more

Forget online shopping and the big box stores. These guys are a true local business and should be supported. I've serviced three bikes there and the work, parts, and service have always been great! One time after a fall I knocked out the recent tune-up/gear settings and brought the bike back for a fix. The service person did a quick, on-the-spot adjustment and when I asked how much I owed them, he replied, "Just your continued business." Wow, you got it! read more

Terrible customer service and terrible communication! My husband went in to buy a bicycle for our son and was told it would be an hour for the bicycle to be built. My husband paid for it and left and the employee told him that he would call him when it was ready. We showed back up almost 2 hours after and I went in and asked about the bike and the employee said that he had things that came in and so it was on the table but not started yet and gave us a new completion time of another hour and a half after already having waited an hour more than our promised completion time. My husband ended up getting a refund and we will never buy from them again. Horrible customer service. Also one year olds do not need to wear masks. Went in to buy a bicycle. I didn't know what I needed. I went to this local dealer to give the independent business my sale. I told the salesperson I lived in a quiet neighborhood where I could ride safely and could he recommend something for my needs. He kept telling me I wanted a mountain bike. I told him that there were no mountains in my neighborhood but he told me it was up to me as weather or not I wanted a mountain bike. I relayed to hm again that I lived in a quiet neighborhood where I could ride in safety and without fear. This really stumped the commissioned salesperson. He honestly didn't know how to help me so I had to go to "Dick's sporting goods where they understood my needs and sold me a bicycle that I enjoy to this day. I'll just preface this with, this is the worst bike shop experience I've ever had, and I regret the day that I decided to purchase a bike here in order to save a little cash. I am not made of money but I'd gladly spend my hard earned money elsewhere just so this terrible business doesn't see it. If you are thinking of buying a bike here, DON'T. Spend a little extra money and buy a better bike from any other store which would undoubtedly have better customer service. It will save you a lot of time and hassle down the road. I would genuinely rather ride through a cactus farm butt-naked than deal with them ever again. Like most basic average mediocre businesses, they are absolutely WONDERFUL at luring you in and getting you interested in buying their product. They were extreme experts when it came talking about every portion of the bike a rider would want or a rider would THINK that they would want. They made sure to talk about Giants 1 year warranty where if there were any issues with the bike, feel free to bring it back and we'll deal with it NO hassle NO problem. What a fat lie that was. I have 3 regrets in my life. 1 Not asking the girl of my dreams out, 2 not focusing more on school, and 3 believing the lies that came out of this ordeal. In February I had an issue with the dropper seat post of my Giant Stance 2 2018. According to the technicians here, this was a very common issue with this model but of course I was not informed of this at all. The Jupiter Branch of Bicycle World informed me that they would order the part through warranty and I'd have nothing to worry about however I should be patient because Covid is putting strain on these businesses. Fair enough. I waited over 4 months and I did not hear a single word. I called back and the Jupiter branch claimed they had no idea who I was and that I should go to the Lake worth branch as that was the main one. Me being the pushover I was, thanked them for trying and headed over there just to have the same scenario play over and over again. You would not believe, how many times I had to hear the same Lie "IlL mAkE sUrE I ReLaY tHiS tO DaVe aNd He'Ll cAlL yOu BaCk". I can count on ONE hand the number of times I got called back about the situation. 0. I decided to continue to give them time, and during my thanksgiving break I called again and was told oh wow my part seems to be in. I rushed over and they said oh some other rider who had been missing that part for just one month got the part. How interesting, a case of whichever wheel squeals the loudest gets the oil. I talk to another gentleman n who had never heard of the scenario and told me that there is no record of my bike part being warranted. So essentially these last 6 months people over the phone just lied to me and said that the Manager Dave was handling my warranty. He took the time to take my information down, and of course hand it to Dave "whO wOuLD cAlL mE". I was NEVER permitted to speak to the manager. He was always busy and way too busy to call me back. I was told by Cody that Dave had ordered my part and it would be in next week and if it wasn't, they would call me. Fast forward 2 weeks, no phone call, nothing. I called back and I still cannot reach Dave. So, I went to an actual decent bike shop and they informed me that sometimes bike companies will do warranty credits and just give you the cash to purchase the item on your own. I called on 12/19/20 and was told Dave was unavailable to speak BUT promised a warranty credit for my ordeal and to call back that following Tuesday. I was relieved. I called back on Tuesday, was told that Dave was busy and that I'd get a call back. I'm sure you could guess how that went. Today I called and Jamie picked up. He assured me Dave would reach out again. I then called again a couple hours later and encountered a young boy named Arnie who was extremely rude. I asked to speak to Jamie, and he said no you're speaking with Arnie. I then was transferred to Pat who rudely took my information and said that the warranty credit probably won't happen and hung up. At no point did i ask for any compensation for my terrible experience. I simply asked for my part to be warrantied and that was it. But today was the final straw. Not once did Dave reach out. Not once did I get a call back about ANYTHING. And the fact that my part wasn't even ordered multiple times? AND Pat and Arnie being extremely rude to a customer that has been nothing but patient these last couple months? I've made sure to tell my story to many pages and forums. I'm telling my friends and family. I'll urge them to head to other businesses and spend their hard-earned cash there because those places actually care about the riders and their happiness. I'm also going to be spending 300 dollars at another business that gave me tips and pointers throughout this ordeal. Give your money to a group of people that deserve it, not them. Like other reviews, I could write a novel, but lets keep this simple. Bicycle World is right around the corner from my house, but in spite of the numerous bad experiences we have had, my husband insists on coming here with one of our numerous bikes here for a simple fix, rather than driving to our quality bike shop further away. I think this last experience finally changed his mind. His son broke the chain of his mountain bike, so he took the bike to have a simple chain replacement. They showed him the new chain he would be purchasing and would be place on his. bike. He also left them with the broken chain. They "replaced" the chain and called him to come get the bike. They also informed him that the front derailleur had to be slightly adjusted. Since then, the bike has not been ridden, until we arrive in Texas for the New Year. Two simple miles on the road, up and down hills, this "new" chain jumps off the front chain rings twice. After putting it back on the second time, two rotations of the pedals, and the chain snaps, opening up at a link, very similar to the same way the original broken chain looked before being taken to Bicycle World. I don't think Shimano designs their chains to break two miles into a road ride. But I bet Bicycle World will find something to blame it on, rather than repairing my old chain and re-selling it to me as a new chain. Like I said, we learned our lesson, it just took getting screwed over by this place and their "repairs" too many times. This may look like just one customer lost, but you've lost a customer who owns two high end road bikes, three high end mountain bikes, and two high end BMX bikes that race regularly at Okeheelee. Took my perfectly fine expensive bicycle for a flat tire. They told me they could not fix and needed a new one for 45$ for a new tire, It was suggested I do a tune up which I said no, it did not need one. I came back got my bike in my car when I want to use it in my house oh surprise they bent an axle in the inside of the tire so it would not move, a cable for the brakes was cut. I bring it back to tell them and as soon as I am walking in with bike this very rude "manager" tells me that he told me to do a tune up and I said no. Then he accused me of doing this myself. I took it somewhere else to get fixed and told me it is not the first time they have to fix damaged bikes from them. They are a rip off, will never use them again. read more

I have patronized this business for years and have bought a couple of bikes there. I do like their newer store. A couple things concern me though. I recently was having problems with a creaking/groaning sound when I pedaled hard. I didn't realize they moved and took my bike elsewhere for service. Another bike shop found that one of the bolts connecting the crank to the spindle was bad from the factory. It was oblong instead of perfectly round! Why wasn't this caught when they assembled my bike? (There were actually several issues, but this is the one they should have caught. The rest were mostly merely adjustments that become necessary over time.) My bike is now running better than when new. Another thing that made me question them was when I bought my last bike, I asked them to show me how to operate the quick release for the front tire. They didn't know how to do it!?! I thought that was very lame. Other than those negatives, they have decent selection of bikes and accessories. Since it has been quite a while, I can't comment on whether they have hired better bike mechanics since I bought my last bike. read more

I bought a bike for my son. He didn't know how to ride a two wheeler. My son picked a bike and went outside with one of the guys.
