My family has purchased bikes and bike accessories from them, had bikes of all types repaired by them and also rented bikes for house guests there. I have also referred friends and neighbors there. Yes, I know that there were a few negative reviews posted. As a retired attorney, I know that you can never please everyone. I don't hand out compliments on a regular basis; that said, however, as an avid cyclist and as a 38 year + resident of Fenwick Island, I happily make an exception for Jay, his staff and this amazing bike shop!

The first time, Ricky tried everything while I waited to fix my chain before determining I needed a new one. The bike was then ready in an hour. Today I went in twice - first looking for toe clips for my bike and, while I was there Ricky checked my tires and filled them for me. I went back in after my ride today as my gears were slipping and offered to leave the bike as I knew they had a backlog. Ricky insisted on taking a look while I waited and was able to adjust it on the spot. Great service and expertise. Highly recommend. These guys were amazing…read more We were spending a few days at the beach with my teenage daughter and a couple of her friends. They wanted to rent bikes, and we were happy they were out and about. This place was conveniently located and offered great rates for the multi-day rental. They even had locks and helmets available. The real amazingness came at the end of the trip. The car was packed, and we were ready to go. The plan was for the girls to ride their bikes back to the shop, and we would pick them up there. However, as luck would have it, none of the girls could find the keys to the locks. We called the bike shop for suggestions. They said all we had to do was stop by their shop, pay an extremely reasonable fee, and they would handle picking the bikes up from there. It didn't bother them that the bikes were parked amongst hundreds of others at Sea Colony. I guess this kind of thing happens a lot. Long story short, we got going without losing time (because the girls didn't have to pedal to the bike shop), and Bethany Bike Shop earned our business from now on.

I did buy one and it was installed incorrectly by the good people at UHaul. (I say "good people"sincerely - they are just overworked and underpaid). No one seemed able to help. On vacation, out of desperation, I explained our problems to the people at Lewes Cycle and within a week, we had a new rack properly installed. They then took the time to explain how to use the thing, which wasn't obvious. Next, I've been looking for a new bike for years, but every store here in DC was too busy to really listen, watch me ride and give me good feedback. Enter Dillon and Gar, who did both and set me up with an EXCELLENT bike in 30 minutes. It was a dream. I am so happy. Lastly, my husband has never been comfortable on his particular bike seat. The fellows at the store really listened. They suggested one, we ordered it and tried it out, and it just wasn't right. Without a word, they took it off our hands and ordered another, which he really likes. All of this HAS changed our lives because now we can actually bike ride again!
