We hired attorney Nicole Torres during what became an incredibly stressful real estate transaction. We were facing serious inspection concerns, including extremely high radon levels, and were desperately trying to understand our rights and protect nearly $40,000 deposit being held of our hard-earned money. Instead of feeling reassured and guided through the process, we felt increasingly anxious and confused. We repeatedly asked questions because we were genuinely scared of making the wrong decision and losing our deposit. Rather than feeling like we had an advocate in our corner, we often felt dismissed when we questioned the advice we were being given. We were advised that our inspection contingency had expired (we later learned it had not) and that our deposit could be at risk if we did not continue moving forward. We were also led to believe that the radon issues did not give us grounds to terminate the contract as it was "not part of the inspection process" and that we had signed a contract "for inspection only". As buyers trying to navigate a complicated situation, we relied heavily on her advice and guidance. What was most disappointing was that when we expressed concerns or asked follow-up questions, we did not feel heard. The conversations often left us feeling more intimidated than informed. Eventually, our discomfort became so significant that we sought alternate legal counsel because we no longer felt confident that our interests were being fully protected. The second opinion we received gave us a very different understanding of our contractual rights and deadlines, including the ability to terminate the contract and get our deposit back, which proved that the advice we received from her was not accurate and would have cost us $40,000!!!

Haphazard advise - buying a house with questionable land use status (2 or 3 family) - rather than working it out with building office he stands back and offers backward advise to get smoke detection inspection prior to Home Inspection. Both RE agents laughed at the ridiculousness of the request. Didn't trust him to go into City Hall after observing his style and behavior, wild, out of control tones with people. I feared he would try to bulldose his way into a fragile situation, wreck the 'questionable' status, and get everyone angry. 2. Poor communication skills (pushy, impatient, bad listener, sloppy emails which take too much time to decipher and require more time to circle back for clarity. Which he impatiently responds too - just as sloppily and it cycles downward from there 3. Absorbitant fees - good luck getting a quote: Its my fault for being in a rush; I was unprepared for P&S and he sold me on the fact that his office is near the Building Office as I hastily fed him the names of the key players in the commissioners office. Don't waste your time, has NO connections in the Legal System or City Hall. The best advice he was able to provide during closing was to be on the lookout for people like him who will be trying to rob money from this hefty transaction.
