I'm always impressed by the variety. You see something new every time you go in because they offer such an impressive collection of items. We even got hockey cards for surprise gifts for family this time around! Some items are more expensive but we got an edition of The Wizard of Oz that was still wrapped and originally worth quite the pretty penny that we will be gifting to a loved one. It was an amazing experience once again today. For the first time, I think I spent more time looking at their prints and I wanted to buy nearly every Singin' In The Rain one... Hardy Boys galore... it was overall just a lot of fun to visit this store. We'll be back for our quarterly visit in no time.

They have lots of records for 5 bucks, which is something like an old movie rental price. Even if I only listen to something once, the experience is worth 5 bucks. They also have way more expensive records, like limited editions of Tom Waits or whatever, which occasionally run closer to a hundred. So there's a huge range, if you're looking to spending a tiny bit of pocket money, or if you're looking to make a major investment for your collection. They also have books. I honestly use the library for books more than buying them, but sometime when I'm in here for vinyls, something on the bookshelf catches my eye, and the prices are fair. It is packed, though. Sometimes where there are a lot of customers, it is very hard to move around and look for things. So much stuff in a such a small space is a double-edged sword. This 5-star review is for my visits outside of peak times, for the selection, service, and price. During peak times, maybe only worth 4 stars because it's so hard to navigate. But the popularity is a sign of the quality, so it's hard to quibble with that.

It is very well situated on the corner of Marie-Anne and Rivard, a short walk South of Mont-Royal metro station,, just in front of the long-standing independant record shop L'Oblique. Millenium specializes in French "Bédé", that is to say the hard-cover french comics. They have a great selection of new material as well as back-volumes of some in-stock series, with prices being very acceptable, often even cheaper than other book shops who'd carry similar material. They also have a good amount of in-stock comic-related collectibles and memorabilia, at very good prices as well. They may not be able to compete with some other shops who specialize in such items or have a greater store size, but you may not be able to find the stuff Millenium has on hand at the prices listed. Of course they carry a whole bundle of "traditional" comic books, both regular monthly arrivals as well as many back-issues, with a focus on trade paperback collections and graphic novels. If you can't find it in the shelves or racks, chances are they can order it for you. The shop itself is very well organized and neatly kept, and chances are you'll be able to navigate easily and hassle-free in no time. If all else fails, just ask any of the staff working there who are self-appointed lovers of the artform in one way or another and will most probably be able to help you find what you are looking for. It is too bad I stopped collecting comic books and collectibles a few years back because I can not recommend this place enough. I strongly encourage you to drop in and say hello and roam around the shop for a while. Chances are you will find something to tickle your fancy at a very affordable price!
