My kids have been going to receiving instruction from TBI since 2021 and they are much better for it. His prices are reasonable and on par with other major programs in the region, but the level of instruction and dedication to his players is superior to everything we've seen from other organizations. There are now TBI players that have entered the high school level of play in the area and I've personally had conversations with coaches who have recognized the dedication and skill level of those players compared to players from other organizations. Jim and Warren Bauer (MLB AND UCLA player, Trevor Bauer's Dad) are constantly stepping up their game to bring innovative teaching to the youth of Los Angeles and beyond. I have met families that drive hours just to work out at Throwzone. My son went from being a cute, good little ball player to being a 16 year old Junior pitcher who is now being clocked at 91 mph. Hats off to Jim and Warren for all that you've done for my son! KC Cunningham

The TZ will not teach your son proper pitching mechanics so if you're looking for a pitching coach…read moreyou need to go elsewhere. All of their teachings are focused on arm speed exercises. At the end of every session the kids line up and throw max effort, trying to beat their previous personal best MPH throw. The kids love this for obvious reasons. The problem however is they're throwing max effort with their arms and most aren't engaging their lower half/legs correctly. They don't take the time to teach proper lower half mechanics. They don't take the time to teach much about mechanics at all because their lessons are group lessons. They just don't have the time to teach mechanics to a large group of kids. Mechanics should be taught in a small setting or preferably, a one on one setting. When you contact TZ for the first time you will be pushed to do group "lessons." The owner prefers this because this is where he makes his money. They're much more concerned with velocity than they are teaching mechanics. Proper mechanics leads to control, which leads to command which also leads to velo. When young pitchers are more concerned with radar readings than they are mechanics, that can be dangerous. If you're looking for a pitching coach who will teach your son how to engage his entire body to command all his pitches, the TZ is not the place for you.

I needed to be able to hit pitching thrown from 50-70mph. My coach was Alexander DeLeon, and he was outstanding. By the time I finished my work with him, I was confident I could hit pitching up to 70 mph. He helped correct 40 years of bad habits at the plate, was patient and communicated well. He taught me how to run routes to balls in the outfield as well as playing some first base. Results: I hit .500 at camp, and .750 in tournament play (total of 6 games). The coordinators in their office worked around my schedule to make dates and times work for me and were very on top of things. Prior to contacting SCBA, I tried reaching out to other baseball coaches in the area as well as the "Find Your Coach" web site, and it was a huge bust. Not one of them returned phone calls or e-mails. The SCBA did, and while pricey, they exceeded my lofty expectations in terms of value, experience and results. If I had a child who loved the game and wanted to improve their skills, SCBA would be my #1 choice. I may be back at the end of this year for more training in pitching, as I am considering returning to fantasy camp next year.

Out of 5 private coaches that my son has had over the years, my son ranks Miles as his #1 favorite coach. Miles uses a lot of technology measuring bat speed and angle of attack that really is useful. I highly recommend Miles for private baseball coaching.

Luckily, we found coach Armen from word of mouth and my son started taking his private lessons right away. Within 2 months of consistent practice, we saw great improvement in the way he handles a ball. Shortly after, he was able to join a competitive team. We decided to continue the training because over time, we noticed that coach Armen focuses on the skills my son needed to work on at that moment, which is very important in all levels of soccer. It has been almost a year since he started taking weekly lessons and my son still looks forward going to his practice.
