Since @Beyond Van Gogh wants to remove reviews and attempt to silence their customers, I'm going to add it to my personal page. Additionally they are paying for reviews to help come back from all the negative reviews. Please do your research before going.
Since they don't share it... *****tbi and epilepsy patients should be cautious as they have shaky projectors and it could trigger. Personally for me, it did trigger a focal seizure and cause my tbi to flare up x100. **** Plus it was hot in rhere. I kept thinking if you are taking that much money from the consumer, you should be able to cut the AC on. I even thought about giving them a business card to an amazing local HVAC company. That's bad!
I don't know if it was just Myrtle Beach or what, but it was absolutely awful. I wanted my money and time back when we left. (Found other cities with the same complaints and even more bad reviews. So it's not just us) I will also say, that everyone in my party was super excited and had been waiting for it to open. We went for a celebration and now we need to redo that and more to make up for this BS.
Do I recommend it? Absolutely not, I could have done the same thing at home with my projector. Actually my tv would have been better. Save your money.
10/10 do not recommend and here is why:
When we got there, we walked down a small hallway of facts and some were not even true. BUT it was a total set up for what was coming. I knew we were turning the corner and was so excited. Then bam! I could feel my face saying WTF is this and my soul leaving my body in disappointment. I kept thinking, I've danced on stages bigger than this. I have walked runways bigger. It was legit the size of a dance floor.
The white drapes are full of creases with white duct tape to hide the holes. The projectors are shaky, the lightening was awful, or maybe it was just intentionally deceptive advertising. It was so dull and faded that I kept thinking where is the crisp and brightness. The venue had wayyy too much light coming in. We stayed thinking we lost a room, we stayed thinking it would get better, we stayed because we couldn't get our mouths off the floor in disappointment. All in all, we tried to like it, but at the end of the day... it's not worth it. Even $10 would have been too much for that.
Save your money, catch a flight to NYC for a day, and go the to MET. See his phenomenal paintings in person and actually be able to take it in.
Legit the only immersed I received was my disappointment and wanting my money back. I kept saying false advertising. Now each time I see an ad, I say what a scam.
Ps. It's been a few weeks and my crew and I still talk about the disaster of this expo. Seriously, hire Dion Gamble to fix this mess.
I have been calling it Van Go because it's needs to go. lol
*they are now blocking and deleting my comments and others who have left a bad reviews. lol
With that being said, it did trigger my epilepsy and made my tbi so much worse. All because of their shaky projectors. There should a warning to let others know. I saw several veterans walk right out because they couldn't handle. Either how hot it was or the shakiness triggering their own TBI. I asked if they were okay when I saw them outside so yes, I know it was the exhibit. It was hot in there and I was sweating. One person in my party was dripping in sweat. They also said there would be seating, there was one small bench. Two slender people took up the entire bench. So when I needed to sit, the only room was the disgusting floor. The only immersion I did, was in nausea meds and emergency seizure meds.
They should really read their reviews and fix it, but trying to hide and dismiss the complaints is just shady business.
They have since blocked me and removed my review from FB. So yes, I have been adding other reviews elsewhere.
(Pictures of what they claimed, what we saw, and we even tried to make it look good. It's the entire damn room too!)
Editing to add: Before they removed my review and blocked me from commenting on their page they told me it was my responsibility to know my details. This same company also asked me to take down my review and stop commenting.
My response to them was and would be... Yes, but this wasn't a light sensitivity... you had projectors that were shaking like an earthquake. Gosh, do you read? It wasn't light, what light? It was so dull that light wouldn't even affect the worst patient I know. It was the shaking mess of several projectors. Not to mention it was hot in there. A fan would have helped, but it was like the AC was set on 85-88. I personally cannot do that. I do have several other health issues and I know my limits. A projector that someone didn't set up correctly is a business problem, not a me problem. The AC is also a business problem, not a me problem. You literally advertised to come in and beat the heat. It was cooler outside . read more
