When trying to find the place, the person we asked turned out to be the owner, so he not only walkd us there, he let us in as well. The Underground Bookstore, according to their website, has been around for over 30 years. I really enjoyed just looking around as the store was packed full of books and home decor. My husband ended up buying a Harriet Tubman plaque type item for our home, as well as a book. I would definitely recommend The Underground Bookstore to anyone looking for books or decor relating to African and African American history. I will be asking my husband to come back next time as there was a $45 book about poetry that was out of my price range this trip.
