The whole vibe in the shop was negative and unwelcoming. The woman behind the counter was RUDE and acted like we were beneath her and unworthy of her time. She helped others then finally came back to us and said the only person available wasn't there yet to just wait. About 30 minutes later a grungy almost homeless looking man walked in. The rude woman behind the counter said those ladies want to talk to you. We showed him the tattoo and he acted like he was doing us a favor even talking to us. He gave us an outrageous quote and said it would take several hours for each of us. None of us felt comfortable or welcome in the shop so we left and went to Love Child Tattoo. Love Child had incredible vibes the minute we walked in. So THANK YOU Anchor Tattoo & Piercing for being so unwelcoming and rude. Without those initial negative vibes we never would have discovered Love Child! I understand everyone has a bad day and maybe that day was a collective bad day for your shop. But you lost 4 customers that day. Not just for the simple dragonflies we wanted that day but for all the future work we all scheduled with Love Child. I really wanted to support an all female shop. But when we're talking about a tattoo that will be on my body for life, the vibe and the way you talk to people is important.

I purchased a kit from a reputable source which included literally everything needed to perform the installation. After some time describing the unit I was informed by (didn't get her name, let's just refer to her as Karen) that it was illegal in FL to perform such installations. I thanked her for her time and hopped on the interweb and was unable to find the "law". I called back and asked for the Statute/law that it would be violating. Karen was unable to cite such a law. I stated that if the piercer was uncomfortable performing the installation that I was fine with that - I would just find another place, said "Have a good day," and terminated the call. Shortly after, I received a call from Karen/Anchor with the sole intent of fussing at me and arguing. I stated I did not want to argue w/her and that I would just find another place. There are literally dozens of tattoo studios in this area. She proceeded to raise her voice and stated "You called my work and said this and that..." "Who are you" "What is your purpose". Frankly, I don't owe Karen an answer and would have dropped this entirely. What really irked me was her complete lack of professionalism by calling me back and griping at me. Toxic to say the least. Maybe she was having a bad day. I don't really care. You simply do NOT call a customer back with some childish grudge because YOU were not able to prove a point by making up arbitrary laws. I would give 0 stars but that's not an option. If they have such problems with a simple telephone request I can't help but wonder how "professional" the piercings and tattoos are performed. I don't want the artists punished but maybe they should consider for whom they are working. If anyone at Anchor reads this and before you ask: No, I will NOT remove this review. Your customers need to know. This was single-handedly the WORST experience I've ever had with ANY "customer focused" business.

Autumn pierced my helix at the store on 9th ave, and I loved her. Will probably go back to see her for more piercings. But I really came here to talk about a tattoo artist. Phil at the Plantation Rd has done the best of my tattoos. He did my first ones, and 3 years later they're doing great. I went back to him for my dad's memorial piece because I wouldn't trust anyone else to do it right. He BLEW AWAY my expectations. When it was done I almost started crying. The tattoo is beautiful (picture below), and he was so friendly and nice throughout it all (he even stopped and put lidocaine on it because of my discomfort during the last hour). I love Phil, and will probably continue to come see him for more pieces even though I've moved out of state.
