She was massaging my legs while constantly looking for different spa music on her phone. She would find Chinese music while going over and over on the same leg and then find something she liked and watch whatever it was on her phone screen. Huh?? At one point, she glanced over to see if I saw her. The music was orchestra like and not relaxing and then singing in Chinese. At this point, I wanted to get off the table early and check out of there. She never finished the full body massage because she was so distracted with her phone. I've never experienced anything like it. When I went to pay, she tried to tack on another $4 for something I couldn't understand and I refused 3 times to which she could see I wasn't budging. I'm mad at myself for leaving a tip for what was weird and not relaxing. And much of it hurt because I could tell she didn't have good technique and rhythm (I've had many a deep tissue massage in my day and nothing has ever hurt like this one.). She's can't speak intelligible English (or acts like she can't), so I hoped that almost everything she mumbled the whole time, which was a lot, was for my good. I called on the Thursday before and got an appointment no problem for the following Monday. I was using a gift certificate from Mother's Day and chose the 80 minute Mokara massage. It is $165. I have frequently gotten 60-90 minute massages from different massage therapists but you are paying for the whole experience from the moment you walk in at places like this. Not just walking in for a massage and leaving. Don't get me wrong, I have people I love for those needed sessions as well! The check in area is tranquil and light filled and calm. I love all the windows with natural light. You are welcomed and walked into the locker room where you are given a robe and slippers (if needed. I used my sandals). You then take your time and then go into the community relaxation sitting/lounging area. There is fruit infused water and hot water for tea and light little snacks. She provided me with little chocolates because I'm not a fan of macaroons. The area was calm and quiet. The seating was comfortable and private. Then came the best massage. Tameka (I'm so sorry if that is spelled wrong) got some personal info from me about different problem areas we might want to focus on and then gave me a choice of essential oil to use. I went with peppermint that day. 80 minutes was incredible. The hot towels were an awesome touch. She used the right amount of oils. Also, she wasn't chatty throughout the session which can happen some times. She was very friendly and i would request her again. After the massage was ended she walked me back to the relaxation area and said to relax and hang out there or in the dry sauna as long as I'd like. The sauna was amazing. Period. I look forward to returning for sure. Completely worth it and definitely a great selling point for the hotel stay.

When I go in for a massage I don't expect to lay there and be lightly petted for an hour, I want them to get in and work on my muscles even if it causes discomfort at the time ultimately when you walk out you are fixed.
