Moved to Bexley Steelecroft - from out of state - because they advertised they had NON-SMOKING BUILDINGS. They had a sign on the lawn that said the building was SMOKE FREE and it said so in the lease. Even mentioned repercussions in the lease if someone is smoking in their apt. But they did absolutely nothing at all to resolve - the smoke that came through the air vents around the clock. Even when pointing out who was smoking and where they lived - they did nothing. Management as quite sneaky in how they interacted with people. Might want to find a place to live where Management is honest and with Integrity. read more

The garbage cans (theres three in total) still reek like poop on a daily basis. Once again emailed the office and the response was disappointing to say the least. Here's their response. And mind you the garbage still wasnt changed on Tuesday and had to again email Our team should be checking these items regularly, but due to the team being short staffed and emergency issues rising during the summer months, such as A/C units, some smaller items may get overlooked at times. We submit the work orders to remind our team to check these items. Unfortunately, our maintenance and grounds keeper will not return until Monday and the issue will not be able to be resolved until they return. read more

I just moved into this complex when we arrived to the apartment there was spider webs everywhere as if the apartment had been sitting for months. The apartment itself is beautiful but very dated. All of the door knobs in the apartment are tarnished and old with dents these must be the same door knobs from when this apartment complex first opened. I asked if the door knobs can be changed and they said No because the knobs work! Also, the doors have a really bad paint job they clearly were painted while the door was closed. Completely unacceptable for a "luxury" apartment and for the price that I am paying monthly. On the other hand there were multiple other issues but they were quickly addressed. read more

We can start with one leasing consultant in particular named M***** she is absolutely SO rude and constantly interrupts you as you are speaking. I hope she gets fired. They do not respect you as a resident living here, do not fix anything, and and/or do anything. They do not respect your time and/or your privacy. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. It's going downhill fast here. When I first moved here it was a beautiful place. Now they barely half ass do lawn maintenance. Rent goes up $200 every year. With no updates on anything. I use to feel safe here. It's just not a good place anymore. If you plan on looking into renting here, make sure you ask about all the hidden fees. They don't explain any of them. On paper it will look as if you are paying for x sample. $1200 But when you pay first months rent. You will probably be paying $1500 . If you are supposed to pay $1700 you will actually pay $1900 . Renters beware!!!! Roach infested apartments. We have found over 20 crawling around in our apartment. ROACHES ARE HERE TO STAY. Leasing consultant said "oh those are just palmettos". The whole building needs to be treated. The neighbor told me all of the units are having the issue. read more

PROS:I love living here. Great amenities; gym for me and park/pool for the kiddos. Well manicured/maintained landscaping. Fun monthly community events. It's a safe, beautiful and friendly community close to great schools and thanks to that, some of the kids/parents at the bus stop have natured a friendship. Maintenance crew is efficient and always on time, although you'll rarely need them if at all. Did I mention EVERYTHING is a walking distance away?! Yes, everything.. T.J MAXX and many other retail stores, amazing restaurants, gas stations, heck even Best Buy is right here. McDowell Nature Preserve & Center is about 7 minutes drive as well as Lake Wylie. CONS: *Trash chute/recycle area needed attention for a few months but it is now clean. *The recycling is very questionable, does the complex recycle??????? *PLEASE let people know about smoking/non-smoking buildings. When I was signing the lease, I was NOT told that my building was a smoking building and as much as the balcony is amazing, my daughter and I can't enjoy it because the people down stairs smoke all day/night. read more

Hi From apartm201, Bexley Apartments is a BEAUTIFUL apartment complex Community! They have been amazing from the very moment we have arrived! We arrived on the weekend and they were able to leave the key in the LOCKER for us to retrieve since they come in a little later in the AM. My children Absolutely loved the pool ( they have two). So many wonderful kids in the community! We moved in on 6/19. We ended up bringing our kids a few weeks later. A couple minutes upon walking in our neighbors (downstairs) were already complaining about the noise, saying my kids were being to loud. At first she came up and said I would hate for you to be "kicked out like the last tenant" ( i wonder why they left ) Ok I thought , No problem, we made sure to tell our 4 & 9 year old that we need to be considerate and be cautious as to how to walk in an apt. The neighbor downstairs had an issue with EVERY "noise " It was very often- every few days! When our friends were visiting she was complaining- the first few minutes they walked in with their children she was coming upstairs to tell us about the noise. She was even banging on the ceiling ( with a broom stick) when NO ONE was in the apartment but my husband, the kids were outside on the stairs. A few hours After we got back from the pool cops showed up to our door! They said there was a noise complaint filed ( from the neighbor) , as she was lurking downstairs - he confirmed saying absolutely NOTHING was going on ( we were preparing dinner) and he didn't hear anything on the way up. We had to apologize for even wasting his time - the kids were on the balcony- she was complaining, when they woke up in the morning to go to the bathroom she was complaining, when they got up to get dressed for school she said it was to loud. She even complained when we were filling an air mattress in the room! We had to walk around the apartment like walking on egg shells- Completely unacceptable! Every little movement a complaint was made. Throughout this whole awful neighbor situation, Bexley's leasing and manger staff handled the situation very well- I would say in an excellent manner! They communicated very well whether it was through email or phone call. They were very empathetic in every way... always lending a helping hand to resolve the issue at hand! Of course we would cooperate in any way we could to have a solution- but she was relentless! Unfortunately , it seems like you may have neighbors who are complaining to no end--but it is NO REFLECTION on Bexley! It's a beautiful community to live in! & we already have recommended it to our family! read more

While the apartment itself isn't bad. The service leaves a lot to be desired. Several unexpected fees were charged to my account upon returning my keys to the leasing office. The manager Beth refused to remove these charges despite one of the leasing associates saying they'd be removed. Very disappointed in their dishonesty regarding this.  Not sure if I can recommend living here based on this experience alone despite the living environment itself. read more

Cockroaches, car break ins and more! If you love cockroaches crawling out of your vents and hopping into your bed-- this is your place to rent! You'll never be lonely with the roaches running around. One night I went to the restroom, I thought I saw one in floor but my lights were off so couldn't really see that well. When I flushed the toilet I heard the feet of the huge roach scuffling across the floor. Oh it gets better! He crawls up into a huge hole in the wall. Awesome we have a fest of cockroaches living in the bathroom walls and will come out to hang out in the middle of the night. You've been warned! Stay far far away if you get the creeps from critters all in your apartment home. Oh and guess what! when you tour the apartment the leasing consultant will take you to a lovely staged apartment that is clean and nice. On move in day, you get to move into a filthy apartment with dust everywhere, pee crusted on the toilets and more! Woohoo!!! read more

Like its sister complex cloisters across the street Bexley Steelecroft is also a very quiet complex. I happen to think that Steelecroft has the better amenities because of the indoor basketball court, but they are both very quiet communities. read more

Where do I start lol well first off I have the worst neighbors the people who live above me put in complaints all the time about my pet . But I seem to be nice enough to not put in complaints due to their heavy stepping around their apartment .. and slamming doors continuously some nights I wake up to it and the noise continues for an hour or more this happens every other day during the week .. I took a video one time to show the office they seem to not care about my complaint .. they instead told me to be considerate about the people above to not play my music I kid you not my music isn't even louder then my vacuum ! They even went to verify themselves and said they didn't hear anything so I just don't understand . WORST EXPERIENCE EVER HERE AT BEXLEY! Also I moved in may 11 2021 and my cabinets are yet to be replace they are all worn out and torn ... and ever time I ask when they will get fix they aren't sure and they kept telling me that they will follow up with me and they never do ! For the amount of rent I pay it's not worth living here ! I stay at apartment 204 .. I wish I could've leased somewhere else honestly .I'm currently pregnant now I have to stress about the fact that my lease can be terminated cause I know for a fact they can't remove my dog from the community cause he's an emotional support pet . I feel like I'm being harassed at this punt about my pet .. not even 15 minutes out my apartment I get a call saying my pet is howling or barking . read more

I am glad to know that I am not the only person who finds that management is poor especially when it come to noise complaints. I would think that just because I am single with no children that I have the right to not have children constantly running over my head and deserve to enjoy my home in peace that I pay almost $1400 for monthly, but hey I guess living here that is asking for to much. Especially after asking over and over again nicely for something to be done and still the problem persist. I have rented for many years and have always lived on the lower levels ( 2nd floor) and never had a noise complaint, why, because respectful neighbors are courteous of others and good management was in place. I am so happy that I have evidence of what happened in this matter so hearsay is irrelavant and can not wait until I find my new home to be done with this horriable experience. For future renter's here, I truly hope you Never have to deal with foolishness like this here, it looks very beautiful and inviting, just never have a noise complaint because you might find my review helpful. We moved in last year in August of 2012. When we first moved in, we were really happy with the community. Clean, quiet, well taken care of and lots of children for our kids to play with. Very family friendly! The pool was well kept and the residents were all nice and there was a big sense of community. Skip forward to 2013. The community merged their leasing office with the other property adjacent to Bexley Cloisters. Since the office moved to the other property the quality of this complex has declined a great deal! It seems like the screening process has also changed because the quality of people living here has gone down hill. Crime and vandalism has increased and the overall maintenance of the property is not great. There has been several thefts reported and emailed to the residents to warn everyone. I have experienced two incidents myself. This property has become the "red headed step-child" of the two communities. Glad to be leaving soon!! read more

My husband, myself and dog lived here for two years. The apartment was nice and spacious especially for the money. Originally we were supposed to get an upgraded apartment but didn't. Nonetheless the apartment was nice. Living at Bexley was a good experience except the occasional lost packages, drainage backups and maintenance saying they fixed something but didn't. HOWEVER moving out of Bexley was a horrid experience. The people who work in the leasing office told us incorrect information about the price to paint our walls back multiple times (b4 we moved in, b4 painting, b4 we moved out). After charging us much higher than expected, we contacted the manager. She spoke with a condescending tone the entire time and told us in our lease agreement we were suppose to paint the walls back ourselves. LIES in our lease it states they will paint the walls back at a charge. Honestly we should have known better and primed the walls ourselves anyway. Going forward I will make sure I record when leasing officers relay information and I will make sure not to lease from any Weinstein Properties. read more
