worst experience i've ever had at a bevmo. as soon as i walked up to the front the older man at the register, mid 40s or 50s immediately started questioning about my age and even after i showed him my ID he was being insistent on refusing to sell me alcohol because someone was with me. manager came over and said it was okay to sell me alcohol and once she left he started giving me attitude when she turned her back, after i told him "I get it." he told me "i don't care if you get it i still need you to understand what im saying to you." the entire service felt like an interrogation. he made me uncomfortable by scolding me and treating me as if i was a child. I go to BevMo when I pretty much have to out of driving some place I would rather go. I needed to get a shipping box for a couple of bottles of wine. I had bought them from BevMo a few years ago and assumed they would have them again. I went into the store and went to the place I found them before (yes I have a very good memory), nothing there so I walked over to the check stand where there were a couple of employees. One was training the other and I asked where they were...the place I was, I told the lady I didn't see them and she said that is where they are. I walked back...up and down the aisle again...nothing. I went back to the same person and said I still didn't see them and could she send someone over. She gave me that look...you know the one that means, "hey stupid look harder", but called someone over. Again, I walk over and the person she sent to help said. Oh...they must have moved them (really) and then looking around she sees them on the top shelf rack. They are just plain boxes and with no signs you can't tell what they are and look like overhead stock. So I bought want I needed ($8.95 for a box that holds two bottles), a complete ripoff but I need it. And left they store, 15 minutes after I walked in, thanks to the wonderful lack of customer service at this location. I will find some other location to buy my stuff, Total Wine and More probably had it but location is not convenient to me. read more

I wish this place was just a bit more with everything. A bit more selection of mead and ciders, a bit more selection of whiskeys, wine. The store is big but so many times the shelves are empty with just the tag showing where the bottles were supposed to be. I have more fun shopping down the grocery store aisles sometimes with the wine. Anyways BevMo is fine for finding a few deals or stocking up on things when they actually have it. I must update my review, based solely on the customer service experience I had during my last visit. I was hosting a housewarming party for about 100 people the very next day and wanted to pick up a couple cases of wine, a chardonnay and a red. This is the beauty of Bevmo. They have a huge selection so I was pretty confident it wouldn't be a problem to come in last minute. I had pretty much already decided on the red, but the chardonnay I love (Butter) was not on the 5 cent sale so I needed to pick another. I was referred to Jackie, who is the resident wine expert. I explained my dilemma, my preferences and she immediately recommended another chardonnay, Six Degrees, that she said was very similar to Butter and for a good value on the 5 cent sale. In the end, I didn't really care for it, and didn't think it tasted much like Butter, but that's neither here, nor there. The problem was that they did not have any cases at this store but did at the Canyon Country store. So, Michelle, another staff member offered to pick up the case in Canyon Country on her way into work the next morning and bring it it to the Valencia store for me to pick up before my party. In my opinion, they both went above and beyond my expectations, and what they were required to do, to make my life easier. Well done Michelle and Jackie. Thanks for your help! read more

Bevmo is very dear to me you see. Because the idea is more options, most of the time at a couple dollars knock off. Now Walmart is a tough competitor but when your serious about your night outs like i am with buying somewhat green bananas that dont foul the smell within my dwelling, then you know your intentions clearly. Last year I asked Santa for a bottle of Sam Adam's Infinium. He didn't deliver. So I took matters into my own hands. The location of this BevMo is right off the I-5 South exit at Valencia Blvd near the Albertsons Store and the Bank of America. I haven't been to a BevMo since 2007-8, but for some reason, I knew where to go for my drinking needs. I walked in and I found the glass case right away without the need of walking through the whole store. I saw the Vodka aisle and saw the huge selections. I saw different varieties of vodka, but a lot I am not familiar with. I buy my drinks at the bar and ask the host/hostess to pour whatever vodka in my drink. This time, I had no idea what to get. Then I saw, Grey Goose. The most reputable drink on Earth. I will forever remember this moment since it will be my first time buying it. I looked at the price and it said $50.98. Really?! It only cost $50 for a 1.75 liter?! I thought it was in low $100s?! Maybe in Las Vegas, but I guess not in the store. Then and there....I had to get it. I asked the lady in the front counter to unlock the glass case to get the largest bottle of Grey Goose only to find out that they had tons of the bottles wide open. What?! Why put 2-3 bottles of Grey Goose in case when they are all at the counter?! She directed me to one of the other associates and I got my Grey Goose. Apparently, my phone number still exists with ClubBev program. So, I didn't have to re-register again and get the $50.98 price instead. The total was $55.44. Agh...the hard part about this mission is....Making Cape Cod, myself. Let's see if I am worthy to be making this drinking to my needs or I will cease ordering this drink. Over the years though I've realized it's not so great though. I've never had any issues with the staff, they always seem to be friendly and helpful. It's about your average sized Bevmo store, with the wine and the beer and the booze and all its little alcohol paraphernalia. It's just the past few times I've come to this one looking for something specific it's just never there. I went there for some pumpkin beer for Halloween and found nothing, which is blasphemy in my humble opinion. The last time the bathrooms weren't super clean either. Was spoken down to, by a woman who turned out to be a BevMo employee, for not having a mask on while just stepping onto the sidewalk from the parking lot but still down a ways from the location. I, of course, put my mask on before entering the location to make a purchase but prefer not to wear in 90+ degree heat while outside away from crowded areas or attending a function that would warrant it. To order from here requires you to do it online first, you get an email that says pick up ASAP, and we showed up nearly an hour later to pick up. Order wasn't ready, clerk was arguing with a post mates guy, a door dash guy, me, another customer. "I only get paid $15 per hour part time!" She said. I am not a big drinker. It's not that I don't approve, but more that my lifestyle doesn't call for large or multiple purchases of alcoholic beverages. However, I had occasion to go into a Bevmo recently, and wow.... everything one could want (I imagine) and more! Wine, hard liquor, liqueurs, beer, etc., plus noshes, accessories and tableware. I even saw a small group doing what I imagine was a tasting in the back of the store. Pretty cool. The store was clean and appeared to be well-ordered. Most everything was labeled, some with ratings and recommendations from what i assume was a known name in wine-dom. Don't buy a keg here. I purchased a 10 gallon bud light keg for my wedding. During the wedding, my bartender noticed that he would pump it and only foam would come out. He would let it rest and then come back to it. We rented our tap from BevMo. I returned the keg with 9gallons of beer still in it. When I asked to talk to someone about it, they said "we would have told you not to pump it when you first get it" and "let it run without pumping it" Either way, during a 6 hour wedding, with other beer (thank god) we used ONE gallon of beer. One staffer was too busy to answer my question, presumably doing inventory at 6 pm on a Friday night. Then, as if time slowly began to wound again, I'm passed back my card with not even the slightest hint of eye contact - this, I don't like. THREE, COUNT EM, THREE times I have come into this BevMo only to be hassled upon entry by this one person. I won't say his/her name, nor drop off any clues as to what this person looks like because I don't want anyone to give him/her sh*t, but HOT-DAMN am I upset! Give me mo' bevmo! This is my one stop shop for craft brews. When I went this last time, the clerk was super super knowledgeable and was able to recommend several beers to me. Initially, I went to stock up on some 2012 Stone Double Bastard, but ultimately ended up with a couple bottles of Stone's 12-12-12 Vertical Epic. The prices here are definitely good. Went in the other day to buy some liquor for a party we were having and I was with my younger sister who is 16. Now the sign outside says no minors unless occumpanied with an adult so I thought she was ok. However apparently not, she was asked to wait outside cause it is considered an "open bar" by the older lady cashier.
