I'm sorry, as of August 2023 Michael's is under "NEW" management and totally sucks! We've been coming here for years and ANDY would always accommodate us we would call ask if a particular beer was in stock. He would put it aside for us if it was low stock or last one. If he didn't have the 12 pk he'd say get two 6pk and I'll charge you same price as the 12. When he'd have new beer products, if they didnt have tall cans he'd say take one from the 6pk so you can try and if you like it then you can come back and get the 6pk or 12pk if you like it. Selection has always been pretty good and prices WERE decent for the convenience. Mostly the service, always friendly,, personal and polite. We have a liquor store right across the street, we don't have to come here, but service matters. And we'd rather support small businesses. NOT liking the new ownership they're, not very forthcoming, they follow you around the store as if your going to steal or something. If that doesn't have you walking out yet... the price mark up is wild. They really want to take advantage, you can get cheaper at Ralphs or Vons OR the craft beer liquor store at the next light. Not a good first impression of new ownership (supposively family). I thought it may have only been our family but all of our surrounding neighbors & community say the same. When we ask about Andy, they say NO MORE ANDY EVER!! Quite rude might I add. We definitely won't be returning sad to say. The place used to always have heavy traffic on a daily. Now that Andy is no longer there, Michael's is a ghost town! **Suggestion: Keep your local neighborhood clientele happy as Andy did. In return you will have longevity and a prosperous business... read more

Been coming here for a decade. One of the better craft beer liquor stores around. But unfortunately Andy the owner sold it to his brother recently. So now they have poor customer service and people that don't know anything about the craft beer they're selling. It's a shame. With so few great craft beer liquor stores around, the last thing anywhere needs is just another standard liquor store. Even tho they're uneducated on their products, I hope their vendors keep the quality up. Miss you Andy read more

Michael's doesn't look like much from the outside but it is a diamond in the rough for sure. I came in here looking for a particular craft beer that I picked up at a place in Northridge (around 20 miles away), I wasn't sure if Michael's had it even though the reviews talked about a large selection of craft beers. When I came in I was surprised at the number of different items they carried, but the entire back wall was beers. I strolled along looking and was helped out by a guy named Andy who was super helpful and very knowledgeable about the different types of beers. Andy and I both agreed that stouts were the best and that is what I came in here for anyway. They did sell the one I was interested in getting, Belching Beaver Peanut Butter Milk Stout....yeah you heard me right, don't laugh because if you like stouts and especially milk stouts then this would likely end up being a favorite of yours. Andy let me know they also sold a Mexican Chocolate Peanut Butter Milk Stout by the same brewer and we talked about other stouts. There were tons of items that were really good priced, but I found what I was looking for taking both and looking forward to them when I got home. Now I no longer have to drive the 20 miles to that location to get the Belching Beaver and also start trying some of the others Andy suggested. A good find...don't let the exterior fool you, come in and take advantage of the great selection. read more

I saw 5 star reviews online and I now know why. He's got everything! And new stuff in each week. One thing I really like about this place is you can mix and match any pint and create a custom 4-pack, which I WILL be doing next time! Keep it up! read more

I've been coming here for years and Andy always gets the good stuff. If you're into craft beer or just looking for good drinks this is the spot. Everyone that works is always nice and helpful as to even checking the back as new releases drop. I will keep coming here for years to come! Appreciate you Andy! read more

This place use to be a nice clean, classy place to go to for craft beer, last couple of years it has been run down by the owner, serving homeless people with no mask!, they stopped carrying Stone brewing, Fremont, and more, they only carry commercial craft beer and it is very expensive, I go to Costco now for beer and liquor, save my money and time!! Please sanitize your store, it smells like homeless people inside! The only good thing I can say which is not really good because it puts everyone going inside at risk, is that he doesn't abide by the mask rule! He doesn't wear one and he doesn't care if you don't as well!!! read more

Craft Beer Heaven!! New spot opened up & it's a craft beer Mecca! Pretty stoked to have a specialty craft beer spot open up on this side of town. Its where the old MIchaels Liquor used to be, next door to Funzone. Ya we have BevMo which, dont get me wrong is pretty awesome & definitely a go to for craft brew but this is right off soledad & on my way home, so makes it very easy to pull up, pop in & brew out! All the guys that work there are all super cool & every time I come in they always have something new to tell me about or offer me. They also take suggestions on what you want to see them carry or what to stock for you (especially if you come in often) Their selection is pretty decent & prices are reasonable. They have their coolers FULLL of delicious bombers (22oz) of all your favorites. Stone. Lagunitas. Golden Road. Karl Strauss. Elysian. Green Flash just to name a few they carry. Their stock seems to rotate often & they also sell sixers & twelvers. A nice little local spot to stop in for a cold IPA. read more

As far as craft beer selection Michaels has to be top 3 in all of SCV, this is absolutely a hidden gem for beer, liquor, and pretty much all things alcohol. The owner Andy, (I know it's not Michael) is the man. Always good to see a friendly face and he knows basically everything about beer and will always help you out. Do yourself a favor and check them out. read more

I have been going here for about 2 years and every time the experience is great. Michael's gets multiple shipments of new things weekly. Every time I go in there is something new to try. Everything is organized and easily located. Andy, the owner, is always helpful and will make recommendations based on what you like. The prices are very fair. Andy and his family, who run the place, are all great people. Ever since my first time in there I was welcomed as a regular with top notch customer service. If you need craft beer, go to Michael's. read more

I love craft beer, so that's why I love Michael's Liquor! Their selection is very impressive, not just in the amount of different breweries and beers available, but in the selections that you won't find at BevMo or even Whole Foods. Always new stuff coming in, they welcome customer feedback on selections and unlike most every other place, Michael's Liquor will take a chance on that new brewery just getting its distribution figured out. Making sure that they always have the newest releases and hard to find beers. Also impressive is that almost all of their beer is kept in the cooler, which is not something they do at any of the big spots. Freshest IPAs, special releases, latest seasonal offerings and loads of sour and brett-fermented beers. I have checked out lots of places and Michael's selection of sour and wild ales is incredible. Cascade, Crooked Stave, Anchorage, Jolly Pumpkin, Logsdon and tons of stuff from The Bruery and Goose Island just to name a few off the top of my head. Santa Clarita is still very much a 5 cent Wine Sale town, so I am always thankful and willing to support shops like this that take chances and improve our beer culture in the SCV. I highly recommend Michael's Liquor. read more

Probably the best selection in SCV. Beer selection unique and fresh. It was great talking with Andy about the beers and worth the drive from Castaic. I definitely recommend. read more

THE BEST PLACE IN SANTA CLARITA, OR EVEN 30 MINUTES, TO BUY CRAFT BREW BEER. I'm talking about selection, pricing, friendly, and everything else that any business needs to win lifetime customers. They know their stuff. They listen to customers' wants and they discuss. They remember me. I feel like a friend. Don't go to BevMo ever again. Why? They're a corporation and they don't NEED your money. Andy is a great guy and he'd love to help you out and sell you the same beer that you're going to buy at BevMo, and he might even have a better price. :-) And I'm not just talking craft brews. I'm talking crazy good deals on all of the normal stuff too. Don't take my word for it. Go there. Say Hi. Ask a question or two, and tell them Jason sent you. read more

One of best selection of craft beer in greater Los Angeles. I've never seen this kind of selection before for Mikkeller and sours. I picked up a bottle of a limited release Hanger 24 Pugachev's Cobra and the Ballast Point Peppermint Victory at Sea. The owner is really friendly and ready to give recommendations. I can sense his passion for craft beer and by looking at his well-curated and organized selection of barrel-aged, sour, and IPA in the refrigerators. Highly recommended if you live in the Santa Clarita Valley! read more

My favorite liquor store in SCV, they have the best craft selection I have seen so far. I have a liquor store which is about 2 miles away, but they don't have such a great selection when I want to try something new. So I don't mind driving the extra 5 miles. They also have an isle of some good collaborations which start above $10. read more

Beer selection! Beer selection! Beer selection! This place doesn't look like much from outside and I've probably passed it a thousand times... but went in today for something I couldn't find anywhere else and a friend told me they had gotten here (ironically an alcohol free beer). And let me tell you, I'll never step foot in BevMo again. They have an even larger CHILLED beer selection. Very well curated and impressive! Friendly service! Will be back. Thanks! read more

Excellent selection, great display, even with numbered beer coolers. I requested a particular Imperial Ale and the clerk was able to direct me to the cooler by number. Very well organized. I'm watching their FB page for new arrivals. I highly recommend doing that. read more

IF you are beer lover this is the place to go. The owner really knows his stuff and can make great recommendations based off your flavor profile. They go out of their way to get you all your ingredients for your liquid diet. read more

So glad the owners decided to renovate and add a ton of Craft Beer. They carry all the big names, and a lot of labels you don't always see in Santa Clarita. The owner is super friendly and very knowledgeable when it comes to Beers and Spirits. This is the small, mom and pop, kind of place we need in Santa Clarita. I'm so tired of going to all the big box stores. I'll definitely be a regular here. read more

Stopped here today and WOW! What a beer selection. Many unusual beers to be found. For selection I think this is the best in town. The gentleman behind the counter said to let him know if there was a beer I liked that i didn't see and he would bring it in. Nice selection and service too. Will definitely make this a regular stop for my beer needs. It is also nice to support a small business. read more
