Upon looking closer, we saw that the expiry date on the bottle was October '09--EIGHT MONTHS AGO. So he tried to take it back. The owner of the store started screaming "You didn't buy that here! Get out or I will call the police!" Yeah. I buy random old beer and then try to return it at a different store ALL the time. Plus, my husband is a pretty distinctive guy, chances are pretty high that he'd be recognized without much trouble. So, the owner is crazy, sells out of date items, and if you try to get a refund or exchange, he threatens to call the police. With so many liquor stores around, why bother going there? I'd give ten NEGATIVE stars if yelp would let me. One star is a gross overrating.

Thirty plus years ago, I was an employee at this Circle K in Upland. Yep, I used to work at a convenience store. They are story only... no gas station. Upon entry, I was amazed on how well kept it is. Bright and clean inside. Shelves were stocked and organized. They now have a beer cave. I said, WOW! After so many years, it looks better than ever. I strolled through all the aisles. It brought back so many great memories! When I worked here, it was a corporate store. Now it is a franchise. I was lucky to meet one of the franchise owners, Kevin. Super friendly and nice guy. I wish him and his brother all the very best in making this the best Circle K in town. Staff was amazing, too! I couldn't resist and had to buy something to support them. I got one of my favorite candy, Reese's Pieces, and $7 worth of scratchers. I still haven't scratched them. I'll save the scratch for Christmas Day. It was great to receive some wonderful nostalgia during my visit. I'll return to visit from time to time when I'm in the Upland area. Happy Circle K!

They charge a $0.40 service fee for using a card. A bit high. This location has a Thrifty ice cream counter. Would I stop at this location again ? Yes if I needed something quick . I always feel guilty doing so because I know how it is working for a grocery store and let me tell you.. its not easy. Everyone needs to do grocery shopping but a lot of people take us for granted and I really want this store to get the recognition they deserve. I needed to pick up a few things. I was rushing because I did not want to intrude on the night shift stocking products for the next day. Never did they make me feel like I was unwanted and they did not make me feel like I was in the way. Everyone who was working this shift last night was incredibly so cheerful. Mind you.. it was close to closing too! I wouldn't blame them if they were on their off game but wow. I am truly impressed. I was pretty shocked because the Vons that I normally go to are quite rude no matter what time of day I go.. on multiple occassions. Hector, who was my cashier was so kind. Very attentive and so full of energy even though it was close to closing. I really appreciated him because he was a one man show and doing all the bagging himself. Never did he look tired or out of place. He was extremely quick and knowledgeable with all the questions I had. He was extremely careful with my groceries because I had a lot of fragile products too. I'm so appreciative because I was trying to make Christmas snacks and any crushed items would not be presentable. Thank you Hector! Michael, the manager is also very sincere. He answered all the questions I asked and was ready to give me an answer. I really want these two to get the recognition they deserve because I know this is how they are even though I have just met them. You can tell they are genuinely good people and we don't see that a lot nowadays because everyone is so busy and in a rush all the time. Thank you to Hector and Michael for helping me out tonight.
