First, the customer service is second to none. MARISA is a wonderful teamleader, and always provides a smile to whoever she communicates with. From here, there are no favorites placed in order, other than my comments. DAVE is always interesting to talk with, if you can catch him. I think he's related to the gazelle, or they are related to him, but he is very funny, has a great sense of humor and is very affable. Geoff is 10 years my senior, but so wise, I think God calls on him for advice. Other David is also very affable, with the people who get time to know him. He's genuine, just like the rest. Matt has a very difficult time not running to the cooler to get me my favorite beer, Tiger's Milk, and have it ready to pay for by the time I yap at everybody else. He's a gracious gentleman, works way harder than I do, and sadly has been bequeathed with so much good hair, that it would be the only reason I don't go to Bevmo anymore. This store is sadly understaffed and the crew must be under paid as well. Do yourself a huge favor and head to Total Wine or Costco. Not worth the headache. Even if you order online, which is really the fastest way to grab your order, it still takes time to get someone to help you. This store has a higher turnover rate than many others. I have experienced countless issues with the BevMo website and app since their merger with GoPuff back in 2020. The platform crashes frequently, locks up, calculates incorrectly, stalls, and fails to locate beverages even when most of the name is entered. Recently I have been receiving "Captcha validation failed. Please disconnect from any VPNs or proxies and try again." I'm not using any VPN so all this does is cause more frustration for your customers. These ongoing technical difficulties require urgent attention. It is advisable for GoPuff to re-evaluate their IT department and consider hiring skilled computer programmers to enhance the website's functionality. Recently I unfortunately had an unacceptable customer service experience with Alex at the Laguna Niguel store. His response lacked professionalism and empathy, offering no apology for my inconvenience. He refused to allow me to speak with his supervisor and curtly suggested that I contact their corporate headquarters. "We can't do anything about it here." Over the years, I have spoken with various BevMo managers regarding these recurring issues, but there has been no real improvement. The employees in the store say it's completely out of their hands and just shake their heads with frustration and embarrassment. Despite numerous customer complaints, it appears Corporate does not prioritize customer care. I recommend that all BevMo employees address these concerns directly with Corporate to ensure accountability and improve customer satisfaction. As a result of these persistent problems, I will take my business elsewhere. I urge GoPuff to address these issues promptly and effectively. GET IT TOGETHER ALREADY!! read more

Was looking for a bottle of Crystal for NYE. They didn't have it. They were attempting to tell me to buy something else and I specifically wanted that, explaining I've had every bottle in the store basically. I tried to educate the older man that most champagne connoisseurs won't admit it, but Crystal is normally their Favorite. Racial bias was conducted at this store yesterday. My wife went there to pick up an order that was placed on BevMo website, she stated this to a man and the woman working in the afternoon Saturday a few times. Meanwhile A line of other people were being helped and more that got there after my wife. The lady then says "go puff" orders are in the back go check. My wife stated again I ordered on BevMo website, the lady says go check the back again! She does it despite knowing it's not there and comes back and the lady had her order in the front the whole time. I've shopped at BevMo Laguna Niguel for over a decade. The selection here is very good, and so is the service. Example: if there's a question about an online order, they call, and they do so pretty quickly. The in-store staff is very knowledgeable about their stock. If they don't have what you want, at least one of the people there can suggest a similar item, or they'll contact another store for you. The store is located in a strip mall, and there is usually plenty of available parking. They now have curbside pickup as well as in-store for order fulfillment. I've opted for delivery from Laguna Niguel through the Drizly app, and it's the same great service. read more

This is my third time at this location and it will mostly likely be my last. Tonight, I walked in to purchase 3 bottles of sauvignon blanc and once I had them I proceeded to check out. An older gentlemen, whose name I didn't catch, began to scan the wine and eventually asked for my id. He looked at me very oddly throughout the whole process and made me very uncomfortable. Once I paid I nicely asked him if I could have a brown bag for each of the bottles (there were 3) and he proceeds to tell me "yeah do whatever you want" and throws the 3 brown bags on the counter expecting me to bag them myself. I was so distraught that I told him I didn't need the bags anymore and carried all three of them in my arms. He then repeated the same phrase "do whatever you want". I am disgusted with the customer service I received by this man and really hope action is taken so that this doesn't continue to happen to future customers. read more

LAME. Went in to buy a common red wine. Asked for it by name, guy took me over to where it should've been - sold out. I asked if he could recommend something similar. "Uh, no, I've never tried it." Then walks away. How about "I've never had it, but let me get someone who can..."? Something called CUSTOMER SERVICE. Bevmo is constantly is at me to put on my mask on. I don't like shopping at this store because somehow or another Covid only affects California because Texas, Georgia and Ohio and so many other states have the mask law off and I'm not a huge fan of supporting companies that are Nazis when it comes to the mask. If somebody does not to wear there mask over the nose because they can't breathe, you need to let up. They also did not apply the 5% discount. read more

Don't even think about setting foot in this store, unless you are 21+ and have your ID ready to show. The way they treat their customers, they might as well have a bouncer at the door. In all the years I've been a BevMo customer, I have never heard of their special carding policies or been treated with such poor customer service. I shopped at this location recently and had my boyfriend help me hold a couple of things because I couldn't carry everything. When we went to pay, he was asked for his ID. At the time, I didn't understand why since he wasn't the one purchasing anything and the cashier made no attempt to explain why until I further asked. Apparently, if you even touch alcohol in the store, they have to card you. Under normal circumstances, if she insisted on seeing his ID (as ridiculous as that is) that would've been fine. But he didn't have it because we had just come from the gym. We explained this to the cashier and she just stared blankly at us. I was getting frustrated with her attitude, but didn't want to make a scene, so I plainly said we'll just go across the street to Ralphs. Her response was 'OK' and moved right on to the next customer. No apologies or anything for the inconvenience. First of all, BevMo needs to make their special policies clear from the moment a customer walks in the door, so nobody is wasting any time or breaking their "rules". It's pretty well stocked. Employees are great. Never busy/messy in the store. But my stars are really for the beer/wine tasting. Every Friday, they have beer tasting from 4-7 for $1. They have a different theme each week, usually coinciding w the season (hefs, ipas, winter ales etc). You get to try at least 7 beers, and Rachel is super knowledgable and nice. It gets packed some Fridays, depending on the time. They sometimes have some pretzels and mustard out to snack on. On Saturdays, they have wine tasting from 1-5 for $2. You also get to try at least 7 wines (starts w a champagne, then whites, then reds). They have some crackers and cheese out and David is also super knowledgable and nice. But maybe I shouldn't be posting this, bc the tastings get so packed sometimes it's hard to get your next tasting! My wedding day is approaching very fast so my fiance and I decided to take care of wine and liquor for the wedding. Having Bevmo right close to our house, we decided to check out their deals online. Noticing that they have good buy one get one for 5 cents deal we chose the wines that we wanted to buy and placed the order online. The online notified us that our order is going to be ready for pick up at the laguna niguel location in 1 hour and a half. So we drove to the store 2 hours later and we went to the pick up section and saw that our wines were ready on a cart. A gentleman asked us if we wanted help and we said we were there to pick up an order so he asked for our id and credit card and gave us the invoice paper to sign. My fiance signed it and that was when I figured it would be a good idea to see if all the order items were there. The order total was around $870 so you could imagine we were talking about 60 bottles of wines and liquor. To our surprise, there were 2 wine bottles and a bottle of 1.75 L of vodka was missing... Ummmmm.... Really??!!!!!! What if we hadn't checked the items and had left the store.... We would have not been able to get the missing bottles back!!!!!!! We let the gentleman know that 3 bottles are missing and without any apology he said "o, let me go get them for you from the back"!!!! Seriously???!!!! I will not disclose his name because I don't think it is right to do it but if the manager of this store messages me I will let him know but for the purpose of this review I would like my fellow yelpers know that they SHOULD count and check and double check everything when they are picking up an order.... This might have been an honest mistake but when we are talking about liquor I doubt anything can be overlooked!!!!!! So WATCH OUT!!!! I like French Bordeaux's thought I'd try a different one and it was not good. Went back in again. Looking for a Sauvignon blanc and he record one from Chile ( from a Bordeaux winemaker) took a couple bottles to a party and it was undeniably undrinkable. BevMo is like a candy store for adults! I frequently look to BevMo for my alcohol needs. I usually don't go to this particular location but every once in a while I like a change of scenery and I venture out to different places and location to see what it has to offer. BevMo in general has a lot of positives: 1) good prices - a lot better than most grocery and liquor stores 2) good selection - they have everything from imported/local wine to craft beer to high-end spirits 3) friendly staff Some of my favorite picks are: Glenfiddich 12, 15, or 18 yr old, Ketel One, Stolichnaya, Lost Abbey Serpent's Stout, Chimay Grande Reserve "Bleu", Gulden Draak This particular location is a little crammed and the aisles are narrow and it doesn't help they still have the same amount of crap thrown around everywhere when compared to some of their other larger locations. I can forgive that though... the positives far outweigh the negatives and after all, your coming here to get your drink on! read more

I have been going to BevMo for years now and I have loved it and the people working there are usually so helpful. However, this Sunday when my boyfriend and I went in to purchase some beverages we received the most surly, rude and obnoxious treatment by a cashier named Margaret. I took my beer to the register, handed her my ID and when she asked if I was 21 my boyfriend (being a goofy guy) jokingly and sarcastically commented "oh no I am not." This was obviously a joke as he is 27 and has the thickest beard I have ever seen on a man that age. Anyway, this rude,non customer service oriented woman proceeded to tell me that she was REFUSING to serve me and that I could not purchase my beer because of what my BF had said. Are you effing kidding me?!?! If I am the one purchasing then I don't give a crap about what someone with me says. I am a 26 year old woman and sorry, but you need to do your job and not be abrasive. I know the law and what she did was not according to the law. When told that she could not ring me up I asked for someone that would and she said nobody here will sell you anything that is the law. B.S. I then asked for a manager and when she refused to get the manager we left. This kind of customer treatment is appalling to me and I won't be back without an apology. If you are a miserable person and hate people then find a job where you can hide behind a desk because we normal people don't want to have to deal with your crap. read more

My favorite local place for my alcoholic needs. I do agree with Robert C.'s review that this location does seem smaller than the locations at Irvine or Lake Forest, but I like going to this location because I usually encounter less car traffic and parking is much easier than the other locations. I like shopping there especially for their ClubBev specials and 5 cent wine specials. The staff is friendly here and I am happy to buy my bottles of whiskies here. But somehow I feel there seem to be more selections of whiskies at the other Bevmos I had visited like in Irvine or Woodland Hills ( yeah what a drive for me). My new go-to BevMo!! This location is now on my way home from work and I stop by a few times a month for my alcohol needs. They have a large selection of beer, wine, hard liquor and also mixed drinks. Staff is friendly and the store is always well stalked. They even have wine and beer tastings a few times a month if ever interested. This location isn't as big as the location on El Toro or as cool as my other alcohol friend, Total Wine and More, but it'll do on days when I want a more popular drink and want to go in and out in no time at all. BevMo has a new motto "Keeping Alcohols Anonymous in business since 1994". There is literally everything alcohol related you could ever want. I absolutely LOVE an occasional pinsner for Czech Republic, Bohemia from Brazil, imported sake you do not usually find in restaurants, fine tequila, Black Butte Porter, tons of mini's for that special occasion and TONS of wines- all different kinds. My parents get their wine from Trader Joes or here. Make sure you get their rewards card too!!! read more

Ok I'll admit that I've reviewed other BevMo's before. They're good, they serve their purpose of being the mega mart for alcoholic libations. They carry stuff that you wouldn't normally find in any supermarket, but they don't carry the hard to find stuff (usually). So why am I reviewing this one? Well, aside from it being the closest one to my new abode, it's also... different... First off, the staff here is friendly. So friendly, they're generally really busy helping out other customers that it's sometimes hard for me to ask a simple question. A good problem to have I suppose, but eh. Second, for some reason, this store feels smaller than the other BevMos in the area - Lake Forest and Irvine. Third, but the biggest reason why I'm reviewing, they seem to have more tastings here than other bevmos. Everytime I've been in here, the tasting area (located straight back from center) has always been setup or currently in use for a tasting session. Which is really cool in my opinion. But with all of that being said, I'm only giving it a three. Is it better than other bevmos? Eh... that's a push. It's slightly different, sure. The staff is friendly but busy and the store is smaller, so that sort of trades off for the increased (imho) tasting schedule. Also the fact that it's tucked off of Crown Valley makes it sort of hidden, and therefore a little less accessible... eh, like I said, this is my opinion. read more
