I ran in quickly to grab a cold bottle of rosé and noticed when the cashier rang it up that the price was higher than the shelf tag -- $24.99 vs $19.99. The cashier verified the tag did say $19.99 and asked another associate to scan the bottle. The associate confirmed the system showed $24.99 and mentioned they must have missed updating the price. Even though they acknowledged the shelf price was incorrect, they still refused to honor the advertised price. It's frustrating when a store doesn't stand behind the price they display, especially since California retailers are expected to maintain accurate shelf pricing. I hope management reviews this and clarifies their policy on honoring incorrect shelf pricing. read more

I am giving this store a 1 star based on customer service and the understanding of posted store hours. The store hours posted are 9am to 10pm. I showed up at 9:50pm and the doors were already locked with shopping carts in front so f the doors. When I knocked on the window to get the store associates attention he signaled to me they were closed. 9:50 is not 10pm. Seemed to me it's a Friday night and the associates didn't want to stay later then they needed to. read more

I went to BevMo to grab some whiskey for an old fashioned. Being new to the whiskey game I wasn't sure what kind of whiskey I needed or what would be good. I was thinking Jack Daniel's. Thankfully, I ran into Mike. He greeted me and asked if he could help me out. When I explained what I was up to he was able give me some education in old fashioned's / whiskey and guide me in the right direction. He suggested a Rye by Basil Hayden. He also suggested I use a single, large ice cube to avoid the drink being watered down. Lastly......he reminded me that I needed bitters. When I got home and made the drink it was fantastic. Without Mike's help I'd of made an "Old Fashioned" with Jack Daniel's , multiple ice cubes and no bitters. Nice to see that customer service is still alive in some places and the people at BevMo actually know what they are talking about !! read more

BevMo has the worst and most frustrating website. I love the service that they offer but do everything in their power to make ordering from them impossible. Walked in for wine, passed by a few favorite snacks, threw them in the cart then noticed expiration dates on ALL OF THEM was 6-12 months in the past. Walked back to snack isle, and found all versions of the same as well as many other snacks were all expired. Glanced at checker who was deep in conversation with another customer and considered asking about expired snacks... then decided to just leave. This is our go-to BevMo! and it fits the bill for a liquor store with all the options you'd want to find and some unexpected selections. The micro-brew beer section of the store has gone off the charts. I had no idea what to pick. I also had no idea there were so many local breweries! The only thing the store lacks is excellent customer service. They will answer questions nicely and are friendly but you have to get their attention. Seems like I spend a lot of time waiting to get a question answered for a store that never seems to have anyone in it. read more

Have to give them 1 star because of the terrible customer service. Staff are often rude. If you ask someone where to find a particular bottle they will often point in some direction rather than take you there. To top it all off, yesterday I tried to return an unopened bottle and was told by the manager Chris Gregor that they would not accept it due to it being more than 7 days since bought. This left a bad taste in my mouth - they were not flexible at all and other locations are a lot more lenient. Chris made it seem like he was enjoying not giving us our return and being a hard a**. Why should having the receipt make it harder to return something? That's not a winning strategy for retail in 2022. I'll be taking my business to Total Wine (or other friendlier locations) in the future, where I have never had an issue with my returns. read more

Because a few fellow beer snobs aka friends, live down in South Orange County, I've made my way to the Ladera Ranch Bevmo location a few times to pick up craft beer for some get togethers. This last time, it was to pick up a six pack of Lagunitas' Undercover Shut Down Investigation. After reading the story behind how the name came to be, I had to find some to try. Anyway, I don't mind this location though it still doesn't compare to another store to whom my liver belongs to. When it comes to feeding my liquid diet, BevMo is not my first choice. But it's always high up on the pecking order and some how, some way I find myself sliding in every couple of weeks. This particular location is one of the better I've encountered. Helpful staff at every turn who are more than happy to point your way towards the cachaca and love making recommendations and suggest what to try. If you are in need of limes, I highly suggest you buy them elsewhere as they will cost you and arm and a leg (and another arm and another leg) here. read more

I think going into this store I was already a little annoyed.... I got lost (totally my fault) and then the parking lot was insane. I felt like I was playing a game of Frogger in my car, and then again walking from my car to the store. Everything was easy enough to find... I knew exactly what I was looking for. Once I got to the checkout, the girl helping me was very friendly. My wife bought a four pack of beer there for my birthday. It tasted flat and when I emptied it and checked the expiration on bottom of the can it was expired 4 weeks prior to purchase. I went to the store, where we buy a lot from, with the can and receipt at hand. The manager had all kind of excuses for not refunding the $ or have it replaced including that I should have brought in the open but full can of beer. Yes, he wanted me to drive with an open can of beer to his store! I took the time to write an complaint to BevMo HQ and got a reply from a regional sales rep with an acknowledgment that they "could have done better" but that's it! My recommendation is: Stay away from this store! They sell expired merchandise and feel they have to do nothing when caught! A very poorly managed store to say the least! I overheard a guy named Kevin he was very rude to a insta cart shopper who asked for helped finding an item HE literally said I can't help you that's what you get paid to do. That is extremely rude and unnecessary to treat someone that way regardless if they are shopping for someone else. Everyone is a potential client even an insta cart shopper. I hope the managers read these review. I've been here many times and every time I come here the staff is friendly. But your cashier that worked on 1/9/2019 at about 7:25pm didn't give me a good impression at all. I should have kept the receipts so I would have his name. When I walked in, he said welcome then glared at me like he has never seen a black person before. I picked up my stuff and went to check out. He asked for my ID, I gave him cash, but when he gave me back my change, he didn't hand me the cash and laid the notes on the counter. I found that a bit rude but let it pass. For the coins, he drops it from his hands about 6 inches from my hand and coins just fell everywhere. At that point I was like wth. I'm not trying to assume, but I can tell when people are prejudice and he was highly suspect. He needs to get fired. Check your schedule managers if you are reading this. This location is great! They always have a huge selection of microbrews. But this review is specifically for the $18.99 mystery boxes of beer they occasionally have up front. Since its Derby Day I was feeling a little lucky and decided to try one out. My case included 14 cans of craft beer (one was a cider, ugh) and 8 bottles of various craft beers and 2 Stellas. Then yesterday I went in to ask for some empty boxes to help move the bottles I just bought and others, and was told NO since they were having a big sale. The place had two people in it. I know it's their job to provide boxes, but one or two would not have broke the Box Bank. I recently realized that despite an enjoyment of alcoholic beverages, my gf and I rarely step into a BevMo. I should, though, because I'm starting to get hip to just how useful this place can be. They obviously have a lot of booze. Pricing is more or less in line with what you'd see at a grocery store during a sale, sometimes even a few bucks cheaper. But you can't beat this selection. We came here to buy some Blue Curacao (which my gf still, despite knowing better, pronounces "kur-a-co") and not only did they have it, but they had about 4 or 5 different manufacturers. Walking through their aisles of liquor made me wish I had more of a drinking habit. There's stuff in here I never knew existed. Besides the booze, they've also got a pretty killer selection of finger foods and apps. Nothing too fancy, just a lot of cheese and crackers and candies. Oh, and olives stuffed with all kinds of good stuff. It made me want to throw a party just so I could stock up on all this tasty stuff. read more

Ok, against my better judgment, I decided to give BevMo one more chance to supply me with a full size keg. I went in one evening and special ordered it. Mind you, it was Thursday and was assured that it was going to be ordered that evening and arrive on Tuesday. Low and behold, Wednesday rolls around and no keg to be found after I call that morning, since no one called me. When I went in to cancel, the manager blamed the person taking the order, which I found to be extremely unprofessional. Never throw your associate under the bus!! WEAK...even if he didn't order the keg, managers should have check systems in place to avoid mishaps like this. I blame the manager. I am no longer a long time customer at BevMo. My 5 gallon keg of beer went up 30.00 overnight. Found my Space Dust at Total Wine 25.00 cheaper, and Ladera location wouldn't match price for in stock item( both places) I got my keg and a whole lot mo at Total Wine and more Laguna Hills and have referred a handful of my friends to do the same. So I can't give them 5 stars because their wine selection is mediocre, but I do have to write a review for the amazing customer service I received from Rafael at this location. The guy knows his wine! I came in one night looking for a decent wine on their 5 cent wine sale and he definitely helped me in finding the flavor profile I was looking for. I have a pretty spoiled palate so much of their wine I just wouldn't normally think of buying. But if it's the 5 cent wine sale then maybe I'll try something new... As for the wine...I really hate that almost every bottle in here has "Wilfred Wong __ points" on it. Wilfred Wong has a partnership with BevMo so of course he is going to rate almost all of their wines and give them a much higher rating than Robert Parker or Wine Spectator would should they ever think of rating these wines. Because WW's partnership, it is simply biased. Yes, BevMo will have your high-end wines like Caymus, Silver Oak, Chateau Montelena...but my issue with them is that they don't have any amazing wines that may be lower production or at a mid-level price. My go-to for wine is Hi-Time Wine Cellars in Costa Mesa to pick up a bottle of De Toren Fusion V (Bordeaux blend) from South Africa or maybe a Vina Alicia Malbec from Argentina....YUM. read more
