There are some hand sanitizers available for patients to use. This place is opened with limited capacity. They are also sanitizing in between patients. They are only taking patients by appointment only. No walk ins. They also do not allow pets in their establishment. Parking: Lots of parking here in the back of this establishment. Just an FYI, Dr. Lam's office is located inside a massive medical plaza. Prepandemic, the parking lot would always be full and you would have to constantly circle the lot for a parking spot. The parking spots are decent. Not too big or too small. Staff: I loved coming here as a child. Dr. Lam was my pediatrician for 18 years. Now, I take my neighbor's children to see him because he is the best. He is very kind, patient, dedicated, passionate, loving, friendly, funny, knowledgeable, and compassionate. He has like over 40+ years of experience. He could retire because he is well over 65 years old, but he chose not to because he loves his job. Now that's dedication. Anyways, I would trust him with my future kids life. His receptionist, Angela, has been working there for more than 20+ years. She is kind, friendly, and laidback. I believe she used to be a nurse before working for Dr. Lam as his receptionist. Dr. Lam can speak English, Mandarin, and Cantonese.

What's even worse, my child needed two vaccine shots, and instead of administering them properly, the doctor held two syringes in one hand and injected both at the same time into the same arm. My child was crying uncontrollably--it was heartbreaking. I'm not sure if this violates medical guidelines, but I don't believe this is how a pediatrician should treat a young patient. I strongly urge others to think twice before coming to this clinic!!!

They gave my 1.5 year old daughter 2 extra doses of the chicken pox vaccine in separate visits…read more(administered 3 total when she should have 1 dose at that age) because they forgot to check their own records. After the 3rd dose, the injection site swelled up and she had an anaphylactic reaction and broke out in hives. It's been 2 years, and my daughter still scratches the injection site. The nurse also let my 1.5 year old daughter play with the empty glass vaccine vials, which she could have easily swallowed. I also requested for a doctor's note to clear my daughter for returning to school. Instead they made another mistake and sent our school a note that my daughter had Hand Foot Mouth (which she did not) so I had to further rectify. While Dr. Lai called everyday to check on her regarding the hives, there has been a trend of mistakes and we have since switched practices.

Never store your credit card with San Marino Pediatrics. I requested multiple times to have my card…read moreremoved from their system, and the front desk confirmed it was deleted--yet it was still charged again without my consent. That alone is unacceptable. Their billing practices are also questionable. They knew the vaccination wouldn't be covered due to an insurance change, but chose not to inform us until after the second visit. This lack of transparency feels deliberate and financially motivated. The front desk staff are consistently rude and dismissive, making every interaction unpleasant. Sadly, Dr. Allison herself seems to lack empathy and appears more focused on billing than truly caring for her patients. This entire experience has been disappointing.

Came in super nervous about the whole process but the staff are very welcoming and reassuring me…read morethat they have done this plenty of times with babies her age(11 months old). Which are very more aware and squirmy. The process took about 3ish hours because we wanted to get the numbing cream which they take their time in making sure she is numb. Once it's set in the process of actually piercing her ears was so quick! The Dr. is very sweet and took her time. I never once felt rushed out of here. One of her ears got a little reaction to the cream ,so she felt it a bit but the other one she didn't even notice it being done. In my opinion it was great doing it at a later age since alot of babies were crying so much and it hurt my heart!! So highly recommend waiting to be able to use the numbing cream. She cried a bit and was over it. I also want to add I know there is a preference on piercing gun and just a needle because they say the healing process is different but my daughter has already a few weeks healing and she has not had any problems from the piercing gun.

I don't trust this doctors practice. My children used to come here and at one of my son's scheduled…read morevisits, with no prior notice, I was told I had an outstanding bill of close to $300. I asked what the bill was from, the receptionist stated it was a bill from back in May and it was now October. I asked if I could call my child's insurance and get it figured out and she stated that if that was the case, my child could not be seen that day. I could either pay the bill that they "discounted" as a favor to me or call insurance but If I called the insurance, there was nothing they could do about it at the office anyway. So the only option was to pay the bill and I could either pay it that day at her discounted price or if I came back to pay it another day, it would be the full price. I decided to call the insurance anyway as this had never happened before and I had received no letters from our insurance nor from the doctor about this "debt". I called the insurance and spent hours on the phone because they could not see a bill on their end. Eventually I was transferred to someone who said they just needed the doctor to fill out a form they filled out incorrectly and the bill would be covered. I called the doctors office to let them know and they said they would not he filling out the form because they had been trying to send it in for months and the insurance kept denying it. They also said, if I chose not to pay the bill, they would send it to collections. Mind you, not once had they mentioned this bill to me throughout the several months that passed so I could have tried to figure out what was going on through the insurances end. I was there often as my son had colic issues. They tell me there's nothing else they can do for me and they are terminating our services with them and I could talk to someone named Theresa via text that does billing. I start texting Theresa about what's happening and she mentions ANOTHER debt that I had no idea about. I ask her what that one was for and she said it was for a telehealth visit. The record they sent me of this telehealth wasn't even to me but to a doctor at CHOC. This conversation between the 2 doctors happened in February but I wasn't told about this "outstanding bill" until October. Then she says that Ana decided to waive that bill as a one time courtesy. She stopped responding to me also. Very shady business here. Also wanted to mention that this office did a few of my son's vaccinations but I never brought the yellow card as I was going through a lot and kept forgetting. I went today to get the card stamped and apparently, since he's no longer a patient there, she cannot stamp his card. I know it was my mistake for not bringing it but my mind was elsewhere when my son was a newborn. The card requires a stamp and the date it was given. Her receptionist said the new doctor could request a release of record form and they can stamp which is a lie. They cannot stamp the card as the vaccinations were given at this office, not theirs! I've never had this issue before, only with this doctor! I even went to a doctor right after I left here that had also given him vaccinations but he's no longer a patient there and they did it with no hesitation. Probably wants to charge me for that too! UPDATE to her response since I can't message her personally. I saw Ezahdy walk into your office and then come back out and said that you told her you could not stamp it as he is not a patient of yours. You can check the cameras. So Ezhady lied about you being in office and denying stamping my son's vaccination card? I do remember, very clearly, as this was a very stressful time for me, you did not reach out to me back in 2023 when this happened. I checked my messages on my portal and there was never a message from you regarding this billing issue. I only spoke to Ezhady, Yesenia and Theresa. I have no issue with what they are billing, my issue is them not mentioning any bills owed until there's nothing that can be done about it. They gave me absolutely no options. They said since so much time had passed I either pay the bill or it get sent to collections. So this is confirming this office is very shady.
