Dr. Betts is a great doctor. Knowledge skilled and has years of experience to draw upon. The other doctor, Dr. Jenn is really amazing too. Either one can help you figure out what is causing you issues. I have been seeing Dr Betts for the past year. Both he and his daughter Jennifer have provided the type of care that I've needed in the past 20 years. I've had an autoimmune condition that many other doctors have passed off or dismissed and for whatever reason, I was blessed to cross paths with this family practice. Jennifer is very straight to the point. She doesn't sugarcoat anything and let you know what you need to do in order to better your health. The office staff has always been very friendly. I really enjoyed being at this clinic, the staff is welcoming and always do their best to help when needed. Scheduled my first visit with Dr Betts as my new PCP. This was a physical and the latest time I could get was 3:30. I received a call the day before the appointment to advise that the office had to cancel for 3:30 but we rescheduled for earlier the same day. Without going into a long story, I will just say that this office & Doctor are VERY outdated and Dr. Betts has a listening problem. I felt the visit was a total waste of time. I made a phone call appointment for my mother-in-law with Jennifer Betts at 12:00 pm and no call so I called them and the receptionist told me she had 3 other patients to see so she'll call my mother-in-law at 1:30 and no call I'm sooo glad I changed her Dr and she could see him soon after she gets better with her cold. I just want to say I came in with a sugar level of over 600 and they quickly put me on the right track. They hooked me up with a glucose specialist who gave me the proper regimen to take control of my sugar levels. After a few months everything began to fall into place and now my last checkup was fantastic. Dr. Betts has been my physician for the last 6 years and I have never had a better primary doctor-patient relationship in all my life. Attentive, interested and awesome are what first comes to mind about my doctor. Dr. Betts' support staff I've come to think of them as family because they reflect his best attributes and just as he leads by example his staff follows. Jennifer Betts their NP has been on par with Dr. Betts in her direct approach towards every aspect of patient care. I truly don't believe my good fortune after several decades of getting my needs met minimally with other offices, this place is a place of true healing for me. I switched doctors immediately after my first appointment here. Dr. Betts daughter Jennifer is very unprofessional and rude. I went in for a lump on my shin. She tells me "dude I have the same thing on my legs it's just cysts" and proceeds to show me her shin. Then I tell her I want an X-ray since I didn't feel she was really checking it or cared. She gets on the phone and starts talking to someone and tells them she googled it and doesn't know. Then she's complaining to them i want an X-ray. Finally she says "screw it we will do the X-ray then". She sent me across the street to the hospital who didn't even accept my insurance. So glad they checked or I would have to pay out of pocket. I have a few friends who also have been seen by her and have had very unpleasant experiences. Please don't go to this office. read more

I wish I would have read these reviews before agreeing with insurance to have this pcp. Reading that Jennifer is his daughter explains her f'd up behavior and self righteousness. A real bitch. She was mad because she felt I had something against pain pills. I do! They're not a solution. She called me princess for not being familiar with how medi-cal works. She refused to give me my referral to a dermatologist for a cyst I have. ON MY CHIN! It's been almost a month and I still don't have it. As a patient of Dr. Betts for over one year I can Say he is great! He is on top of your needs His staff is not so great! Multiple phone calls to get through and then they do not follow through with what they tell you they will do. I was told to go to Urgent Care after being told my antibiotics were not refilled. I decided today that although Dr. Betts is wonderful, having to call 10-15 times to get someone to answer the phone is not acceptable. Leaving messages and not receiving a call back is not acceptable. When I said I would write a negative Yelp review Santos said Okay and hung up. I've been coming to Dr. Betts for about 5 years. Dr. Betts is the best doctor I have been to in my life. I read some of the other reviews and its directly against everything I've encountered. The office is nice, easy to find, busy and yes SOMETIMES there's a wait, but if you know a good doctor, you can tell by the wait, especially with a general practitioner. It makes sense especially since everyone has health insurance now! Plus the waiting room is nice and I've always been seen within 15 minutes of my appointment. I've had issues with my health insurance covering a prescription and their office manager solved it within a day. Sometimes, I think people don't remember that healthcare insurance is complicated and not everything can be instant. It's your insurance companies fault, not the doctor's office. When Dr. Betts isn't there, Jen is amazing. I've had severe eczema from birth and went to over 30 dermatologist and spent $1,000s in creams. Jen was the ONLY one who knew exactly the right cream to prescribe me. Cost of the cream was less than $10 with my insurance. Within 2 days my eczema began to clear up and has ever since. Dr. Betts is a doctor that cares, is very experienced and now even my mom, brother, and grandma go regularly to him. read more

Dr. Betts wrote a prescription for my wife that the pharmacist questioned, because it was prescribed at an unusual frequency. Not only that, the local pharmacist knew (from prior experience with him) that Dr. Betts would be pretty much impossible to reach in order to clarify the prescription. She expected to clarify it by the next day. So instead, we went back to his office ourselves. The clerk up front said Dr. Betts will clarify the prescription, and to just go back to the pharmacy right away because she will have the new prescription faxed over. So we went back to the pharmacy, who never received a fax but only a phone call from the clerk. Long story short we waited at the pharmacy until they closed and still, no prescription was ever faxed. How unprofessional is that, sending us to the pharmacy to wait for nothing. My wife and I literally wasted a whole evening. By the way, we were first to arrive in the office after their lunch break (waiting room was literally empty), and still had to wait in an exam room for Dr. Betts for over an hour. Yes, we did make an appointment and arrived on time. Meanwhile we could hear the office staff socializing after they just had some Halloween lunch party. Find another doctor if you want to be treated with respect. Take your insurance money to a provider with some common sense, and who will value their patients. They gave us the impression that they just don't care. read more

My mother and aunt used this guy, and later his daughter who joined his practice. This guy is in it only for the money. He seems to prey on old people, so if you love your elderly relatives, find them another doctor! They will wait helplessly for 2 or 3 hours since he overbooks by many many people. It's all about the cash or medicaid for this guy. One time when I complained to whoever answered his office phone about the long time in getting an appointment, SHE HUNG UP ON ME. When I complained to the doc about his office staff's outrageous behavior, he said, "Oh, maybe she was getting her period that day." WHAT the heck?! Really? Don't use this guy. Jennifer Betts is the worst NP I've ever came across. I don't know how she was able to practice medicine, not only did she humiliate me she put me down and made me feel like crap. In her words " you are making my office look like shit" mind you I've never meet this woman. I even asked politely for a referral to a Gyno and she refused and said I was waisting her time. Not only am I embarrassed I am extremely humiliated and do not think she should be a NP . NOBODY deserves to be treated in such a way. Had my first appointment at Dr Betts office today. I arrived 15 minutes early, 3 people waiting in the waiting room. I signed in and was called up within 10 minutes to fill out new patient paperwork. Appointment was scheduled for 9, I was called back about 9:20. Not a huge deal, I am used to waiting at Dr's offices. Waiting area was clean, TV on local news at good volume. I saw Dr Betts daughter Jennifer. She was very friendly, welcoming, and caring. She was knowledgable and wanted to make sure she told me about herself and learned some about me. I appreciated the time she took in both. As a new patient, I do want to know about the Dr's and want them to know about me. Jennifer was complete with me and covered all my questions and explained things well, easy to understand. I have read her reviews on yelp and I did not experience anything like what I've read here. I go into Dr's offices with realistic expectations. Just yesterday I waited at my dentist for over an hour beyond my appointment. When I take my kids to CHOC in Orange County, I have waited up to 2 hours past our appointment. Patients are there because they need something from Dr's, each case is different and take different amounts of time so it is what it is. Welcome to 2015. I was given an EKG, Dr Betts ordered blood work, and scheduling my next appointment was easy. In and out with an appointment of 9:00 am with everything done, I was out by 10:30 am. I had been a patient for over 15 years and they have always been accomodating. Recently however that has all changed. I came with pain a few weeks ago and was not seen because I did not have an appt. This was 2 hours before closing. Today I had an appt and was late because of freeway closures and they would not see me again. Time to find a patient friendly drs office. The first thing I noticed is they don't overbook patients. The longest you will wait in the lobby is 5 minutes tops. Kudos for that! Secondly, staff and the doctor are very warm and welcoming. So do to the hour plus wait for my appointment weeks ago, i rescheduled. Called prior to appointment to see if can get doctor to work on authorization for MRI, as i told the young lady in front office I'm in pain and would have to wait 2 weeks for appointment to work on that MRI authorization. She said Doctor would call after hours. Never got the call. Today was my appointment. HEATHER let me know they can refuse service do to my YELP review, unless i remove it. WHAT? What about my first review? didn't get the attention for the compliment. Her reason is why would you want to see the doctor if you're not happy? read my review, the wait was ridiculous, nothing negative on the the doctor. i asked why didn't anyone say this before called a couple of times.. Typical management blamed the staff. NO I WON'T TAKE MY REVIEW OFF not the way to resolve or fix the problem. Small tip Heather take me in on time and that review would've been changed.. Lots of doctors. Election time is coming up the wrong time to get on a patients bad side and have them express what they've experienced at your office reacts this way. She even responded to my text messages about my son when she was on maternity leave. I live in Pasadena. Had nasal MRSA and Psoriatic Arthritis no one knew what it was until Dr. Betts and Jennifer diagnosed this. Months of dealing with this and running around to specialists. I feel that a clinic based on experience and knowledge is a clinic I would prefer to be at. I am doing better now and know how to manage my arthritis pain. Additionally, they work really hard to work with your insurance as best as they can. It is hard to find a good PCP who wants to keep your entire health from head to toe in order. My grandmother had an apt today. She drove out of her way and when she got there they turned her away. They told her that her insurance no longer covered her to see Dr. Betts REALLY!! She has been going there for years with the same insurance. They could have at least called her to let her know so she wouldn't have wasted her morning driving over there. Ive been going to Dr Betts office for years. Ive only stayed with their office as it is very convenient for me because of the location. That being said i have had enough of their inability to communicate with me. I feel like ive always been treated like im just a number and not a patient. My prescriptions are always being held back and i go days and in todays instance about a week now without my meds. They never and i mean never answer their phones and when you leave a message with their answering service they never call you back. I am not the only one who has complained about this but i assure you ive had enough. The nurse there likes to take blood pressure while at the same time pricking my finger for my diabetes all to save time giving me bad or false readings. I did bloodwork for this office 5 weeks ago and for the past three weeks ive been trying to call them to get my blood work results to no avail. I will now be seeking out another doctor as i feel this one has failed me miserably. I also highly recommend anyone with similar issues to walk away as well.
