Marblehead Lighthouse State Park is a great spot for a relaxing and scenic visit along Lake Erie…read more We went last weekend and were able to tour the lighthouse, which was definitely worth it. Admission was $5 per person, and kids 5 and under were free. The volunteers were friendly and shared a brief but interesting history of the lighthouse and how it's been used over the years. Once inside, be ready for a bit of a climb as there are 77 narrow spiral steps leading up to an outdoor observation area. The view is worth it to see beautiful sights of Lake Erie. Even if it's not that clear of a day, you can still see Cedar Point and the Lake Erie islands in the distance. The park itself is very well maintained and offers easy access to the shoreline while still feeling safe and family-friendly. It's a peaceful place to sit, relax, and enjoy the lake breeze and sounds. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area.

These wetlands are remnants of the Great Black Swamp, which once covered an area 120 miles long and 30-40 miles wide. Nature enthusiasts enjoy viewing an abundance of waterfowl and shorebirds in the park's scenic wetlands, as well as from the swimming beach and picnic areas along the lake. Our family and Apache camper began a series of visits in 1967, and East Harbor has remained a favorite. Greatly enjoyed the beaches, which now have a three-foot stone barrier to prevent erosion. We visit year round. The surrounding area has become somewhat commercialized. Lots of campers and fisher folks. In our early visits, we discussed a holiday at the State Park rather than a trip to the Outer Banks or to Hilton Head... My dear wife observed that an annual Atlantic Ocean Beach holiday was elemental to our life style.

I will say the spots are somewhat smaller compared to other Ohio state parks we stayed at. The slots are not angled so it can be tricky to back in. They do offer lots of pull through options. Inside the campground there is a boat launch, lots of extra parking, shower houses, camp store, game room, and nature center. They don't offer a lot of activities but there were a few. My kids just loved riding our bikes up to the beach and playing in the lake. There is a nice bike bath that makes it easy to get there. There is no food in the area so bring your own or be prepared to drive.

We knew going in it could would crowded and a bit noisy and that has not changed but we could live with it. This year we were on a site that bordered an access road literally 20 feet from our front door( site 216). We have camped here on this site a few times in the past and had no problem but this year one Camper host three or four times a day drives past not slowing down and leading his large dog. First it is a danger to any who is in front of the camper and also with his fast speed and running dog gets every dog around upset. Please address this situation

Parking is available. Fishing with a license is also welcome here. It was a great spot to watch the sunset while listening to the music from the nearby yacht club drift out across the water.

Plenty of parking for cars, boat trailers, and golf carts. We were there on a Friday afternoon, so it wasn't super crowded and everyone was kind of spread out across the beach. We saw a blue heron, and my friend fell asleep on her towel. We also went back to hike some of the North Loop trail. A good time was had by all, minus the incident with the poorly behaved off leash golden retriever. There's almost always one of those, though..... Note that the beach is not technically dog friendly, but there were a few there.

Great park in the middle of town…read more Lots to do in this park. Two play grounds for kids, bathroom and shower house, fountain, historical markers, picnic tables. It is right in the center of town so you can see all the action or take a break from the bars. Great place to view the Sunday car parade.

It's a nice little park area with clear walking trails and plenty of parking. There's a marina and sailing/yacht clubs nearby so you can watch the boats when the weather is nice. Lots of benches and grass areas so it's a great spot to watch a sunrise or sunset. I don't fish but there's always people doing so in the area, so I would assume it's a decent spot for it haha
