Inside the store it is sometimes difficult to find what you are looking for as there is not enough signage around. when you do find what you are looking for the shelves are generally well stocked. Most of the staff are friendly and helpful, they are all in uniform and are well presented. Upstairs there are displays for kitchens, bathrooms etc but not enough room to show them in full and seems to look quite cramped. All in all a reasonable diy store that i am happy to use.

The shop has the feel of a cross between a hardware store and a soft furnishings shop. I actually stumbled across Brewers via Google, after a fruitless search for a shade of white paint that only seemed to be available to the trade. Homebase completely failed me, since the barely pubescent Saturday staff weren't exactly the most knowledgeable, but Brewers was listed as a place that dealt in trade colours. After about 30 seconds of looking at paint on the shelves in Brewers, someone spotted my cluelessness and rescued me. He quickly found out what exactly I wanted, despite my vagueness, and gave great advice on what I needed to buy. There was a clear focus on what the customer wants, rather than trying to sell me more than I needed. A nice touch is that while I was waiting for my paint to be mixed up, I was offered a free drink from the vending machine. Ok, it's hardly fresh filter coffee, but it's still much more than you could reasonably expect from a DIY shop. I'm definitely shopping here for my decorating needs from now on, and avoiding Homebase like the plague.

I rang at 16.24hrs and was told... its all sorted 'put your feet up and half a cup of tea it will be with you in 1/2 hour'.... its now 19 hrs while its not impossible it will be delivered this is NO WAY to run things...Im prepared to amend this review if things change but sadly i feel its got disappointment written all over it. ian

I found this company on Google search and filled an online estimate request in. Ray called me on the following day. He clearly explained: (i) possible causes of fault and repair price for such cases; and alternatively (II) a couple of choices of a brand-new similar standard drill, specs and price for each; I opted to the repair as I wanted to know what happened to my tool. He arranged a tool pick-up immediately. Then a person came to pick my tool up as scheduled. In a week time, I received a call from a technical expert. He explained the reasons and the status of my tool and his verdict is that my drill would not work properly even after repair. He offered a similar range of tools and I chose the one of the same manufacturer. The price was very reasonable (70 pounds), which was lower than my original drill I bought in 2008. In a few days, the new drill was delivered with my old one. Neither pick-up/delivery costs nor repair work cost was charged, but only plus VAT. I am quite satisfied with the quality and efficiency of their services.

It would be useful to be able to order from the website too. We find Timberstore very handy when we need extra bits for jobs as they have a good range of wood sizes in stock.
