I saw some of my cousins (who live locally) post pictures on social media of their visit here, so I told them the next time I come around, it's a must stop! And so it was! I was in the mood for either a Katsu curry or ramen. I couldn't decide, so figured I'd decide when I got a better look at their menu. We came through a bit after the lunch rush so our party of 6 got seated immediately. They have a pretty bangin' menu! They have a bit of everything: sweet and savory snacks, rice dishes, good variety of ramen, desserts and drinks... they will have something for everyone! MATCHA MILK TEA: A must have at anytime I see it on the menu. Perfect amount of ice and quite refreshing most especially on a hot humid day. Off to a good start! TAKOYAKI: It had to be the 8pc, there were 6 of us. (Heh!) It was a first for a few in my party and they liked it! So much that it's probably going to be a repeat on their next run. The presentation was great and the bites were even better. Mild crisp on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. The sauce and the mayo were just the perfect amount and the shaved bonito flakes added a nice and mild touch of saltiness. Get this! MAYU TONKUTSU RAMEN: I was sold on the burnt garlic oil. Well... and the overall description, really. That bowl did look fantastic when it arrived on my table. I dug in rather quickly which I sorta regret because the broth was piping hot! That said, I took the opp to dunk the chasu in to render a bit of the fat in the broth, which made both meat and broth taste YUMful! They weren't lying: the chasu was, indeed, super tender. The broth had depth and had even more flavor when I sunk the seaweed in. The noods were cooked perfectly, same with the egg. There was nothing wrong with this bowl! I was truly proud of my choice! PORK KATSU CURRY: Someone else ordered this and I was lucky enough to take a bite. Pork Katsu was cooked and seasoned crispy good. They curry was a little thin for my taste. It was good, but there certainly has room for improvement: truly has full potential to be better. FOOD: 4.5 SERVICE: 5. VALUE: 4. A bargain for tourists like me, might be pricey for most locals. PARKING: Street available, a few spots available on the private lot. OVERALL: 4.5. Fantastic first run!
