It was summertime when we were there, meaning school wasn't in session. So not a lot happening on campus. Staff that we've had contact with so far is very knowlegable and approachable. This program is online, so creating a sense of community virtually is extremely important, especially when your class is small and living across the country. I'm very excited to learn more about the university through my husband, now that the semester has started. I hope it continues to be a positive experience for him and everyone else in the Space Ops program.

The campus is very nice and open. Plenty of cultural events with a nice art museum. A great culinary school that operates Cafe 101. Several technical training programs that offer certificates. University of Central Florida has a satellite campus if you wish to transfer after your AA degree. A great nursing school and parametric training program as well. Now Florida State medical school has a satellite campus for 3rd and 4th year medical students

He's also been in the military for 10 years. Now why would a 29 year old grown man, need and have to take a class called "managing your success" the material is insulting to his intelligence. This is a class he shares with high schoolers whom are dual enrolled. You have got to be greedy who ever is in the office that made the decision that he would need such a class. It really is a greedy money grab to even require that of him. He doesn't need to be told how to manage his time. He has a whole degree. These people are insane, who ever evaluated his degree and decided you know what, let's give him a whole other years worth of classes required before he transfers. Education should be about quality not quantity. Enough with the greed. A 29 year old who spent 10 years in the navy and time getting a degree while in the navy doesn't need a whole class about time management in which he sits next to 15 year olds from high school. GREEDY GREEDY GREEDY. Shame on whoever evaluates transcripts.

Just like the Daytona campus, but with more trees!…read more DBCC has several different campuses, and the Daytona campus is the main one, but in my opinion the Deland campus is the most functional and nicest. The Good: I feel like a REAL student: HAving gone to a big university myself, I felt instantly at home on the DBCC campus, and it feels a lot more like a bigger university campus. The buildings are bigger, it's more organized, and there are a lot more trees! Joy! Out of the way: One of the things that is so agitating about the Daytona campus is that it is right on International. Now while this is very convenient, dealing with traffic and tourists is just not cool. And summer classes...just forget about it. The Deland campus is pretty far away from loud high-traffic areas, and it really allows you to focus on your classes. The Bad N/A I've already sung the praises of DBCC as an institution, but I have to say that if you have a choice of which campus you want to attend I would definitely recommend the Deland campus any day. Overall 10/10= Education away from the noise!

College costs a lot of money and time from your life. It's a sacrifice worth making but why cheat yourself and attend a lesser school? They offer many majors and degrees, the facilities are excellent, and the campus is nestled in the town of DeLand so you get that college-town vibe. The university is small enough so that students get personalized attention from the faculty. School spirit is evident everywhere. Definitely worth a look for anyone applying to college!

Our entire family (utter beginners, lol) took surfing lessons with Sean a few weeks ago and had a…read morefantastic time. He was prompt with communication and was there waiting for us when we arrived. After brief instruction on the sand Sean patiently pushed us in time and time again and coached us as we went. I'd never surfed before and I have to say it's much harder than it looks (as are most things we try for the first time). My 6yo daughter was nervous at first but Sean switched tactics and found a way to get her to LOVE it. He actually had her stand up and hold on to his head for balance, lol. She went from "I'm scared" to "That was fun, can I do it again?!?" in just a few minutes. My 11yo son and I are short on the balance side so weren't as successful as my husband who was able to ride some waves in. Sean was laid back and timed it well between instruction on the sand, breaks and instruction on the water. Prices are great too. Each of us said we'd love to try again. I'm going to be working on popping up on dry land until I can do it on a board!
