Disappointing tone, condescending care, and absurd extra fees…read moreI had to schedule an urgent visit here because our normal clinic was fully booked and I needed to bring my cat in after a stray literally broke through our porch screen to attack her inside our own home. I was just trying to be proactive and prevent a serious infection, but the whole experience was terrible. Instead of focusing on my cat, the vet spent the visit lecturing me about the dangers of outdoor cats. She went on and on about how outdoor cats don't live as long, how they get hit by cars, get attacked, or catch rabies. I explicitly told her I agreed with her points, that we live nowhere near a main road, and that I'm balancing family dynamics with cats who love the outdoors. But she just kept preaching. She even condescendingly told me I should put chicken wire over my screens or build a catio--completely ignoring that chicken wire isn't predator-proof and that the stray broke into what should have been a safe, enclosed space. On top of the attitude, their billing practices feel like total nickel-and-diming. Every single medication option had a separate "service fee" tacked on ($12 to $30 extra per item), which basically doubled the cost of the medicine itself. When I asked what the service fee was for, the staff told me it covers counting out, packaging, and bottling the meds. But the anti-inflammatory they gave me was a single, factory-sealed blister pack straight from the manufacturer. All the clinic did was slap a prescription sticker on the box. Charging a full fulfillment "service fee" just to put a sticker on pre-packaged medication is ridiculous. I came in looking for compassionate care during a stressful situation, but left dealing with condescension and bogus fees. I won't be back and definitely don't recommend them.

I have had many pets over many years and have always encountered compassionate care whenever this inevitable decision had to be made. But this is the first time with Winder Animal Hospital and, somehow, they surpassed even the best experience I've ever had on an awful day. Compassion, warmth, and kindness were on the faces and in the behavior of every person there. I was given all the time and privacy I needed to say goodbye. They placed him in a beautiful box for me to take him home in to bury, gave me some of his fur, pawprints, and prints of his ears, nose, and mouth. I even got some very loving hugs, which I so desperately needed as I was alone. I know my cat was treated with the utmost respect and caring, both before and after. I will never go anywhere else. I can't thank the staff there, every single one, enough.

When the results came back, turns out my cat is 100% healthy. It cost over 800.00 to find out my cat is healthy. When I asked to speak to a doctor about the bill, they started making excuses why a doctor couldn't speak with me. They said they would have one call me Monday. Never happened. Very unprofessional and dishonest. Do not use this clinic.
