Poor costumer service and simply rude. Run down dining area and restrooms. Facility has a bad odor. The owner took my daughter's skates to modify them because she claimed they would damage their floor. She informed us it would only take a matter of minutes. She proceeded to process the entire line which had no end in sight. After 15 minutes of waiting, she still did not return the skates. When I questioned it, she became quite curt. She said that I should have come on a day that wasn't so busy. It was very off putting. She then said that I didn't have to stay and she would give my money back. When I sorted out my husband for assistance and told him that our daughter's skates were not returned and of the owner's behavior, she apologized and gave me four vouchers. I saw the bad reviews so figured I'd chime in. I hosted a birthday party for my 13-year-old daughter last weekend and she had a wonderful time once everything got started. The DJ called her out multiple times and played games. It was one of the best parties she ever had and we've had parties all over the Lehigh Valley. It was very nostalgic and fun for the adults too. Staff serving pizza and drinks was very attentive too. The only thing that kinda sucked was we couldn't set up until 10 min prior so guests were arriving and we were still setting up. But they do give you 3 hours vs 2 hours at other venues, like SkyZone. We arrived a good 40 minutes early and had to wait with our guests. They did take my cake but wouldn't take the balloons and the wind gusts blew a couple away and actually killed the weight off another. We had to keep a car door open from the cookie favors melting. Skate staff reminded me that it is in the contract -- no setting up until 10 min prior. I would have liked at least 20 minutes w/o other guests inside but it is what it is. Other than that, everything was just fine. I emailed about the party prior and skate staff responded fast and we went down and paid the deposit. All was good! :) read more

I will start off by saying that the establishment looks and smells as it is still in the 1950's. This is not the reason i took to yelp, Families Beware. As i picked up my kid and her friends on 4/22/22, we see a young man outside crying. We inquire what happened and he admitted that he got asked to leave because he was asked to take something out of his mouth while on skates, he also admitted that he questioned why. I asked if he can call his mom and he stated that his phone was dead and did not remember her number. As a concerned parent, i went to find out why the young man could not wait inside and to find out what transpired. Upon speaking to Sarah who claims to be the owner, i can understand why. She is a very Rude, disrespectful, condescending young lady. As i asked what happened she already had her mindset on repeating the same thing over and over, THERE IS A ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY, we are privately owned. I asked did he cuss, no...Was he loud, no.... Should he have listened right away.. YES. BUT your dealing with children and if your going to allow the parents or guardians drop them off, then you need to mind them better . I explained that there is a child outside by himself and her response to me was, i dont care, not my problem. I asked if she can call the number on the form to have someone come get him and at that point she asked me to leave, would Not speak just kept barking that i can go now and waved her arms at me to leave. How can someone Not care about a child? Disgusting, Disturbing, disappointing That is all i can say! It is like a trip back in time to enter a roller rink that is this crowded. It is bananas in here, in the best kind of way. It's a real mix of kids of all ages and teens and young adults, careening around semi-out-of-control while Top 40 hits blast over the sound system. When we were there on a weekend night there were multiple birthday parties happening, and folks were jostling around and it was like a free-for-all until the DJ announced special "adults only" or "teens only" or "backward skating only" times. And that's the charm of it-- it's a dirty-skate, no-rules, loud-music, you-will-knock-over-children throwback sort of place. The people who work here are legends and I am jealous of their choreography. It's a very Lehigh Valley experience to come here. I love it. read more

If I could give no stars I would. First, you are required to sign a waiver before you can even walk in the front door. Second we were told by the ladies that my son, who has dietary issues he couldn't bring his water bottle in. I told them he had dietary issues and she informed me to talk the the woman at the door. So we walk in, and the place immediately smells like dirty feet. Just horrible to smell. As we enter the woman told us that my son couldn't have a water bottle inside again. I told her he had dietary issues and can't drink or eat anything in there. She promptly told me that she can't allow the water bottle in and that there is a water fountain in the place. This is a fun activity for the kids. They have walkers if your kids don't know how to skate. You can throw a birthday party here as well. They engage the children with prizes and games. The concession stand is reasonable. You can easily spend 2+ hours with the children here. I have been to a different rink in Atlanta GA and it was much more modern/updated but hey, this will do. read more

I haven't been roller skating in years and boy does this place bring back memories! Although 4 corners is not nearly as fun, the ginormous walls are actually pretty short, and the music is not as good, it really brings you back to your youth. With all that being said its still the most fun I've had in years! The best part is that there were all different ages, from gray haired couples holding hands while skating to children taking their first skate on the floor and everything and everyone in between. Anyone looking for a new hobby should revisit skating!! Totally loving it! read more

Spoke with a lady over the phone about hosting a child's birthday party here; She was very pleasant over the phone but once me and my family arrived, she became very unprofessional and rude. We WERE a few minutes late. I cannot deny that but her response was so distasteful, our birthday girl started crying. Friends from her school were in line and witnessed how awful the skateaway representative handled this situation. We mentioned that we paid to have the party, and she quickly cut us off and said she hadn't charged the car yet, "so y'all can leave" . After that, she just walked away. In this time and age, I cannot help but feel like she treated us so poorly because of our melanin. We will never return, and neither will our friends and family. It's 2021. Get a grip! read more

We Loved it! This Rink is the rink that we like the most in the Lehigh Valley. Food and drink is good and reasonablypriced. Masks are required which we are in favor of for now while so many are getting sick and worse. We found it to be clean and friendly and at a very reasonable price of admission. My daughter turned 13years old and I brought four of her friends to Skateaway.. and we all had the time of our lives.. we got there at 9:30 and they close at 10:30pm. That was more then enough time to have a great time. The D.J was so friendly and the music was amazing. Tiffany who worked at the window was so nice to us she made us feel so welcome. We've been going here several times pre-covid and we had many fun experiences! But when we went a couple of months ago when they first opened back up, It was very over-crowded with people, thats the only disadvantage if your worried about covid. But nevertheless, it is a very fun/chill and family-friendly environment, I would def reccomend : ) . read more

It should have raised a red flag when I found Skateaway deals in CASH ONLY. They require that you show in person to arrange parties (no online registration, no checks, no credit cards...just cash, in person). I went there and arranged a party for my eight-year-old. We sent out invitations and took care of the RSVP's. Three hours before the party, at about 11 am, Skateaway phoned to tell us that they were closed because of five inches of snow the night before. We had to locate guests at the last moment to tell them that plans were changed. We made last-minute changes to have a party at the YMCA. When I asked for my deposit, I was informed that all deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE (even if THEY cancel) and I would need to apply the deposit to another party at another time. When I complained that it was Skateaway who had canceled, I was told that the contract said all deposits are non-refundable for ANY reason. Regardless of what the contract may or may not say, Skateaway is clearly more interested in pocketing deposit money than it is in providing a good customer experience. read more

Horrible experience. First and foremost, rude staff. This is to be a happy friendly environment for children yet the person behind the skate counter was snapping at the kids. Then almost slams the skates onto my wifes hands. Completely uncalled for behavior. Then they nickel and dime you for everything. Yes, I understand it's a business. We were charged for the pvc skate helpers for the kids that didn't know how to skate. $3 an hour x 4 or 5 kids adds up. I have taken my children to skateaway for years. My oldest daughter who is now 20 has had numerous birthday parties there. I recently went there after years and my son enjoyed it so I booked a birthday party there. The guests had a great time. The owner was very nice. Each time I attended she told me that my 1 year old was free and the skate rental was also free for her because she is young and probably won't keep them on. well my kids veterans to take them skating again. The Manager so she called herself was rude and condescending. She basically told me that she is always there and insinuated that I was loring about never paying for the skate rentals. She even took the money out of my daughter's friend's money with out asking and said well I'm taking it out of her money so. I told her that I will be writing a complaint, she said so what she does not care. So I will be taking my business and my friends business else where.
