In July 2020, we had a few businesses come to give us estimates on correcting our basement water…read moreproblems. We already had been using a sump pump and there were French drains that weren't performing properly. We decided to use Rapid Response as a medium cost estimate. Rick himself came to give us the estimate but on the day of the work, it was just the young guys who would do the heavy work. We had asked to have the location of the sump pump hole moved because it had been located right next to the boiler. We thought that was a wise move. The work was done quickly, within two days. The new discharge location seemed to be a good choice. But we were disappointed that the discharge pipe was only placed literally inches below the ground. Which absolutely guaranteed freezing in the winter. Now there is a freeze discharge above the ground but that in itself created a new problem. Within three months of the installation, we had three sump pumps burn out! Christmas morning that year, which we had rain and 60 degrees, we had 6" of water in the basement and had to call the fire department to pump us out! When the alarm had gone off on Christmas Eve that the sump pump wasn't working, attempts to reach Rick went unheeded. He did finally arrive after the fire department came to help us and installed a different sump pump. As an extra precaution, a few days later he installed a second sump pump in the same hole as a back up. We are happy to say they have lasted so far. However, last spring as the ground was still frozen and the discharge pipe was still frozen, we had a great deal of rain. The sump pump was discharging twice a minute. However, with the freeze discharge being right beside a basement window, as much water was just going back into the basement as was being discharged! I called and emailed pictures to Rick for help....but still have never heard a response. This begs our concerns if either of the sump pumps fail that we will get a response from Rick. And this spring, we are realizing that the water being discharged from the sump pump is flooding our septic drainage fields. Contacting our septic company, they felt that a responsible basement business person would have asked us about where our septic fields were. And would have directed the sump discharge in a different direction. Long story... BEWARE dealing with Rapid Response!

My husband had done a lot of research of the limitations of the materials we wanted to install (moisture and wear) and was impressed that this man knew the product so well. A few days later we got the quote. It was astronomical. We wanted to work with this store, so we called to ask why it was so high. This was not our first quote. I would not leave a one-star review for just a slightly higher price. This was a full 140% of what everyone else charges for the same exact product. As crazy as that is, even that wouldn't merit one star. The one-star review is for the snow job we got when asking why materials were so high. We were told this was the "landed price" and that other places probably charge shipping. Well, no...in fact shipping was free from other places. We pointed this out, and he said "Well, if that's the case, send me a quote from somewhere else in writing, and I'll have to have a talk with the sales guys." Posting this so any future customers make sure to shop around before accepting a quote. I'd hate to think if we were less informed and just accepted the job because we liked the guy. It was literally thousands more just for materials. Their labor, which they subcontract, was super high too. Disappointed since we wanted to work with them. Not a lot of good options in the Capital Region.

I had very ugly, chipped, worn concrete steps at the front entrance of my home. I contacted StoneTech to see what my options were for getting them replaced. Vinny, the owner and main guy, recommended that I get concrete poured over the existing steps and to finish it with a slate like stamped pattern. The results were phenomenal. The techniques he used mimic true stone so closely that some of my friends and family actually thought it was real stone. Everything was done in a timely fashion and the prices were very good.

Technicians were personable, professional and transparent about what would need longer term solutions. Inspection of my chimney and removal of the non-working gas fireplace revealed some structural issues that would have made full restoration to a working fireplace difficult, expensive and ultimately less efficient than a fireplace insert. I went with the Regency insert, which while smaller than I expected has turned out to be efficient and enjoyable. While an expensive choice, I'm thrilled to have a working fireplace again, and the ability to use it for a heat source as necessary.
