Sometimes it is not all about selection, atmosphere and location. Just across from the middle school in the Bethel community between Canton and Waynesville is Bethel Grocery.
Gas: Always well priced. During the gas shortage of September 2008, Bethel Grocery showed fairness and class by having someone at the pumps to direct traffic and not gouging everyone by rocketing up their price unreasonably.
Atmosphere: Just what you would expect from a small, mom and pop, independent local gas station and market. Basic, cool, dark and all around awesome.
Merchendise: Great if you live in the area and need to pick up a few things. Like any small market, they have a lot of things, but not a huge selection for each item type.
People: Local and great. Very nice, very fair, all-around good mountain folk. The reason I moved here from Charlotte.
Bottom line: Stop by and say hi. Use the ATM. It's like a regular connivance store, but somehow more comfortable. read more
